I think I’ve spoken with you about this issue before, but I’ve had 4-5 with under dash fuse boxes go bad. From what I understand in cold temperatures they are prone to having the IG1 and IG2 main relays in the box freeze. None of the have had visible water leaks, so I’m assuming the little of of moisture brought into the vehicles from melted snow or rain was enough moisture that in -5F and below the relays would freeze. They’ve all had the same symptoms, used remote start after 10 minutes times out it has a no crank condition, multiple warning lights, brake pedal hard as a rock with multiple f can codes and ig1 and IG2 failure dtcs. After 20-30 minutes they do start again. Last week I also had a 2023 HRV sport have the same problem which isolated to the fuse box as well
Thanks for sharing as always! I don’t know if we spoke about this particular issue although I can see why you see it up there and I haven’t seen any. I’m sure Honda fix will be to hot glue all the gaps like the starters? 😅🤣 Appreciate your input!
This gen CRV is widely popular. Looks great! Great info and tips.
Looks and drives great.
Agree, too early to see the HG issues with the 1.5L here. 2.0L Hybrid first choice if going Honda., imo. Thanks for the update review.
Agreed on both counts. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for the heads up on the 23 CRV we have a new one, 5 thousand miles, 9 months, great car, love it !
Great to hear!
Been a reliable rig for us in the shop, sold a ton of them so far. Some issues initially with the infotainment tuner units not working for AM radio. Never been a fan of CR-Vs myself but this gen rides very nice and quiet vs the outgoing generation. Thought about getting a hybrid myself but would prefer if Honda used a plug in hybrid system.
Yeah we haven’t seen too many issues (surprising in a good way).
I have a 2017 1.5T CRV EXL that has been fantastic!! One of the best vehicles I’ve have ever owned. (82k miles)
Awesome, thanks for sharing. Just because there are some issues doesn’t mean it’ll affect all of them. Yours being a prime example.
Own a 22 and man im so happy with it. Takes pot holes like a champ
@@azaels911 👏
Props to this mobile mechanic for calling out Honda Motors for using this 1.5L Turbo and the Honda loyalist will tell everyone they know to buy a newer Honda, meanwhile Honda is using their legendary quality and now using cheaper parts to maximize their earnings. Only older Honda from 2005 to 2015 I would purchase........
I call it like I see it. Both the good and the bad.
Happy with 2024 CR-V with 1.5T. Great hwy fuel economy. No issues at 16K kms
Awesome, thanks for sharing!
17K miles trouble free.
@@RK-ds7im awesome, appreciate the continued updates.
@@BCautosolutions I am doing my own oil changes with 0w20 penzoil platinum synthetic. Nice there is only 3.5L of oil
Can you make a video showing installation of the radar sensor bracket; also interested in knowing if it interferes at all with the sensor's operation. Thanks for the video.
I believe Honda updated the head and turbo charger for 2022 on the1.5t. Are you seeing head gasket issues on the 2022 1.5t's and newer? 8 year 120k Honda care should take care of any problems anyhow.
I have not seen any issues yet although it is too early to tell. The head and turbo aren’t the actual issue, the head bolts and block design are. We shall see how it goes.
What should the fuel rail pressure be on the 1.5T?
I have a 2018 Honda CRV 184 hp with 2.4L i-VTEC 4-cyl. 32K run great, awesome mileage. Have the recall on the fuel pump. Bothers me, but a great car.
Yeah those are great engines.
I use a rodent peppermint spray in the winter never have had any issues
Great option and pleasing to us if the smell creeps into the cabin.
Have you seen seepage from the ac compressor shaft seal or any ac components failing?
I haven’t but I haven’t been looking. I’ll start to make an effort to directly look at them.
I have the 1.5 liter in my 2020 Accord exl. Last week got an oil change at 50k. Service tech recommended the fuel induction service because "in Kentucky we have to use reformulated gasoline and it causes more carbon build-up on the valves."
Does this sound like b.s? I've never heard such a thing. I thought reformulated gasoline burned cleaner...less emissions. So wouldn't there be less carbon?
We do have a 2024 crv. Turbo mecanic need more attention for sure compare to the old 2.4. Did the first oil change at 6000km. Now sitting at 12000km so another oil change. Oem filter and syntetic oil. (Yes I know it's a little bit overkill)
91 fuel too. Put all the chance on our side.
Our summer car are Brz and STi. Had a speed3 before for 5 years. I will say we like to deal with finiki cars😅. However those car made me learn that in mecanic anything can happen but if you do things right and take care of your stuff it will get along for a long time. I meen the sti has 135000km still on the original engine. Knock on wood and not rod please😂
Thanks for sharing your knowledge🤝
Congrats and thanks for sharing and you’re 💯correct.
Bravo to you for doing oil changes earlier and more frequently than specified! I do similar intervals with my Odyssey and I'm at 190k kms and still runs great. Oil is cheap, engines are not!
@@ChrisHsuCars Thanks I appreciate it🤝
@@ChrisHsuCars 💯
We are great full for this chanal. Thinking about trading in a sport touring for a Accord hybrid. Maybe the new Camry. Whatdo you think about those cars.
Drops of lavender oil occasionally applied to the area under the hood will keep rodents from going in there.
I really like the accord hybrid as well. Camry is always a great buy as well. Lavender and peppermint oils works great and smell good to us too if the smell comes past the firewall.
It would be nice to know if there is anything good about the 1.5T
Has nice power delivery 💯
23 Honda crv issue, heat coming from under the steering wheel, noticeable warm. Check if heater is on, not on. No engine lights yet saying overheating. But there is heat coming off engine? I can feel it Going towards my feet/legs.
Take it into your local dealer. Let
Us know what the outcome is
I bought one of these. Do u think it will go the distance? Hoping it will last 15+ years for the family
It can with the right maintenance.
What a shame about the 1.5 Turbo engine issue. I plan to keep my 2015 Cr-v Ex until the wheels fall off (I have 113K milles at it runs like a top) but I think I will have to go with the Hybrid regardless when I need a new one. Does the Cr-v Hybrid have any real issues?
We have seen more issues with those to this point although I anticipate things to flip flow around the 2-3 year mark. I have a full video on that one as well.
@@BCautosolutions I would almost be inclined to live with the slowness of the Hr-V and have a reliable engine that can go for 200k than buy either of the Cr-V models at this point. Do you see any issues with the new Hr-V???
@@lazyrider6918 I have a video on that one as well. Very solid this far (no surprise about that).
@@BCautosolutions The only video I've found that you have on the HR-V is on the first gen, not the '23 and up gen.

My mom had her crank shaft seal replaced then the oil pump seal. Now her radiator is leaking, do you think if they did something wrong that would cause the pressure to build up and cause the radiator to leak?
No, just an unfortunate coincidence.
@@BCautosolutions Thanks again. I couldn’t believe the work involved to change the radiator after looking on TH-cam. I never would have thought that the front bumper would have to be removed.
@@teslamr7333 yep, mostly all of them now you have to.
@@BCautosolutions My mom was upset with her mechanic so I found another one. Long story short a few days later after changing the radiator there was a pool of trans fluid under the radiator. We took it back and they supposedly fixed the problem. I am sure they didn’t put Genuine Honda Fluid in there, do you think I should change the fluid and put Honda fluid in? ✌️
@@teslamr7333 ugh that’s frustrating. Yes for sure I would get oem fluid in there.
Does anyone else’s Honda CRV get hot under the steering wheel like the heater is on blowing towards your feet when driving? I’ve noticed it multiple times and check if the heater is on and it is not. Is this a common thing for crv owners? I have a 23 Honda crv LX it gets noticeably warm under there. No engine lights yet saying over temp…..
Haven’t ran across this yet
You’re not alone !!
@@royanderson6559 any idea?
where is your shop located?
I’m In nj
Unfortunately Honda has become Americanized. Short term profit exchanged for long term reliability
I actually like this style crv .but the only thing that I don't like is the grill vents for the air vents that whole grill grid piece going across looks hideous
The vents on the dash?
@Hondamobilemechanic yes that whole strip of a grill that goes across the dash where the knobs are that looks like a honey comb
@@pilot2020 I actually don’t mind it. Looks different but it’s not my favorite either 😅
@@BCautosolutions it gonna be hard to clean when it gets dusty.
@@neilgray6264 you can use compressed air or a keyboard cleaner. That’s my biggest concern as well.
The 2023 Hybrids are having a throttle body issue. I'm on my 3rd throttle body in 5 months.
What’s the symptom you’re getting? I haven’t personally seen that yet. You may have something else going on causing the throttle body to act up. Thanks for sharing.
This isn't a one off either. My dealership had replace 4 others, and there is 40 more that they know of.
@@markbuergel2308 weird, I’ll keep my eyes peeled for sure
@Hondamobilemechanic Update. Went to the dealer today and found out the part is on backorder again. The last time it was on backorder, I waited a month and a half.
@@markbuergel2308 what are the symptoms your having?
Not sure if you knew this but in Europe the HRV has a 1.5T
I did not. I’ll be in Europe over the summer. Hopefully can take a look into one.
Seems Honda has quality control issues for vehicles leaving the factory
It happens across all manufacturers tbh. Luckily it’s just a handful. Although one is too many, it’s not hundreds either.
They shouldve dropped a plug in model to compete with the Rav4 Prime
They have a plug in/natural gas version coming out. Sounds like a hot mess tbh.
Definitely a hot mess. They released the clarity fuel cell and I don’t believe that went well. They need a 60mi plug in model with a 400+ fuel tank range
@@dicegamenetwork agreed 💯
Theft in general across this Country is Unamerican to begin with, But I guess Building back Broke is going to come with unintended consequences, I Guess some people aren't doing too well economically. Or just lazy maybe a little of both. Anyways the 2 liter Hybrid CRV is probably going to be a Great Unit for most, Especially for City drivers with a lot of stop and go action.
Yeah theft is through the roof, my only fear is car jacking. When the thieves get desperate because of how bad everything is, I expect that situation to rise unfortunately.
Why are you blaming being close to NYC as the problem??? Being close to Newark is the real issue. 😛
Newark is like 10 miles away from the Bronx.
A lot of people from Jersey commute to the 5 boroughs for work.
@@DZE457 I know, I am from Brooklyn but live in NJ. Newark is car theft capitol of the world (or was until recently). I was just busting him that he said they steal radar because he is close to NYC. Newark is its own animal.
Well fair point. Most radar thefts I get are from nyc and most rodent damage is from Newark/elizabeth, etc. it’s kinda the same but different 😅
im afraid to watch !!!
So did you watch? 😅
@@BCautosolutions i did.
@@jongonegone1262 😅
Nice video. IMHO, I would not worry about the 1.5L head gasket issues. If they continue to happen with these newer version of the 1.5L, then a class action will be sure to follow. I'm sure Honda will offer extended warranties and reimbursements. Time will tell... Merci
Let’s hope, I would have thought some sort of extension would be available already but so far nothing.
Anything with regards to oil solution?
Yes, dilution.
Hit or miss on older gen’s haven’t ran into any issues with these yet.
Our 23 CR-V EX-L 1.5T has been great from a driving perspective, but definitely have been unlucky from the quality control department.
It’s going in for factory hood replacement on the 25th because the hood flexes/vibrates at 70mph. The adhesive that holds the top metal to the hood frame beneath is completely failing.
Driver side mirror glass vibrates (on back order). Steering wheel has started to creak/almost make a metallic sound when turning. Wondering if fit is the worm gear related to sticky steering issues. Will bring that up at the next oil change.
Zero issues with drivetrain at 18k miles.
Appreciate you sharing and sorry for your troubles. Please lmk how everything turns out.
