biggest glow up by far was ren and stimpy, their animations felt genuinely unfinished nasb1 and very stiff but now they actually impliment the animation style that they originally had into it rather than just shifting their models around a bunch
Imo Danny got the best Glow up. Mostly because his head doesn’t look like a potato

Honestly I think Ren and Stimpy were a lot more fun as a fighter in NASB 1 but yeah
This just shows that if you give a game a budget it will effect how good the game is, plus the creators are passionate too. I'm pretty sure they wanted the first game to be like the second game.
This is why we give creators a chance. Hell even Nickelodeon did a good job
This presentation is night and day difference is so smoother
You know its funny, there are two approaches to platform fighters that use characters from other franchises, either the smash bros traditional route of "if this character was plopped into this arena, how would they fight" and then there's this, honestly more common philosophy of "lets just make as many references as possible with their moveset"

All Stars 1 just looks like a really early build of the 2nd one
Only 2 things I'd like improved
Give Zim more laughs - His evil toilet laugh and "Zim has won!" from the movie would be perfect
Also, give Jenny her reflections on blue parts back, mainly the ponytails. She looks a bit empty without them
Looking at the original animations, you can clearly see that the animations were way faster, but not in a good way, especially for a fighting game. They cut off way too soon, feel choppy and overall just worse. Glad they balanced the frame data better.
A lot of the moves felt like they had very little impact in the first game. They had no weight behind them
And the voice acting is more lively

Also for the Nick vs Smash video you should compare characters with similar moves and abilities

While I do appreciate the unique mechanics they tried to implement in the first game (for instance, the strafe button), the sequel is definitely better in pretty much every way.
I'm glad that Aang improved his moveset in the sequel

There are 2 very funny things i noticed watching this video
1: litterally every character in this game was made to look significantly better, exept jenny, who was toned down to a comical degree.
2: they made rocko significantly quieter in this game, after realizing how much damn screaming he did in nasb 1.
I like how they have more oomph in the second game. I'm glad the devs improved on a lot of stuff.

I love how the characters in the sequel are a lot more expressive
Everyone was celebrating when the first game got voice acting in an update, but those voices sound so unbelievably bad in that game
I’m so glad they changed Reptar’s voice, he just sounded so weird in the first game.
NASB feels like an alpha build while NASB2 feels like a beta build. Hopefully an NASB3 comes along that feels like a finished product with a real budget.
So much improvements over the first game! My issue with some of Garfield's moves in the original where some attacks were more Reference than being piratical moves that fits his characters, one of them being him eating Lasagna which too me fits better as a Taunt. While Garfield still use that as an attack, I like the fact Garfield kicks the Tray Away AS part of the attack, giving actual piratical use of an attack than being a plain reference.

I actually prefer the way Garfield played in the first game, especially his down special with Pookie, but I’m absolutely loving ASB2 regardless

I don't know why, but I feel like this SpongeBob model from the second game is worse than the first one. I feel like they were more on model with the first game and though I think the second game has some benefits just seeing the different model makes it feel like it's automatically worse between the two. Almost every other character I can say looks better in the second game yet SpongeBob has been the only one that really feels like it's been a nerf rather than a buff when it comes to how he looks in All Star brawl 2

@@dylansmith5206 Mrs. Puff is a Campaign Mode NPC (and she even says that she's not much of a fighter) while the Flying Dutchman's a boss character.
I'm all for bringing back Sandy though. And honestly the only thing stopping MM&BB is... who's gonna voice them? Their VAs have passed away and while Mermaid Man has a substitute, who'd fill in for his "young" ward? I think it's safe to say that they've passed on in the SpongeBob universe too.

It may just be me , but I actually Think the character models from NASB 1 looks better than then the ones in NASB 2 .. the second game’s character models look too realistic lol … I may not be making sense .. but for characters like SpongeBob it looks weird

the dlc characters in nasb 1 look a lot better than the rest of the cast even down to the fluency of the animations, the gap of improvement to the second game is barely noticeable. Makes you wonder if Nick gave the devs a better budget when it came to the dlc

There was basically no direction with the first game.
Too bad so much was cut though. Worse than when Smash cuts a character too. No Toph, Leo, Donnie, CatDog, Oblina, Helga, or Sandy. I understand (though am disappointed by) cutting Hugh, but Lincoln? I don't even like his show but he's the main character! Why is Lucy back and not him? And Shredder was my main but he's only a boss now. This new game is 3 steps forward and 2 steps back.

Anyone know if the controls are more similar to smash? The original had y to jump b to attack and a to do specials, and I didn't like that, since I'm used to up on the joystick to jump, at to attack, b to do specials.
They are changed by default, but you can rearrange them, and there is now the option to turn on the joystick jump
