If you have received a message that you won the guitar, it's a scam and please ignore it. The contest will not be decided for another two weeks and we will only contact you via the email address that you provided, after clicking the contest link.We will never contact you in response to a TH-cam Comment

It was trying to get me to give personal info through Telegram. I quickly deleted and never gave anything but I felt dumb as hell.

I am deadly serious about this: every time I see you play, I firmly believe I could play my own style, and it would have the same effect as your playing has on me. It’s transcendent. And a little crazy, but only a little. Thank you so much for being so inspirational to an entire generation of new players, and to me, as I continue to believe I can improve until I’m dead. And maybe just a little after that.

    • @timpierceguitar

Scott I know exactly what you're saying and I believe you are right about your playing...

It is true. Peter Green is definitely one of the most overlooked players and songwriters in the rock...and music world. I'd be willing to bet that more young people, even young musicians, know about more due to his connection to his old 59 LP that went from him to Gary Moore and now, Kirk Hammett. That is kind of sad.

Peter Green is why I love the Trad Pro V version of the Les Paul so much. It has a toggle that switches the pickups between in phase or out of phase, like Peter Green’s. Not many Les Paul’s have that ability built in. It also has very unique Tradbucker pickups, which Gibson does not sell separately or put in any other models, and they are incredibly clear and articulate. Much closer to the classic PAFs than the normal burstbuckers or custombuckers. It also gives you the option of choosing either coil split or coil tap, and the coil tap option is voiced on a classic P90. So it’s nice being able to go back and forth between the PAF voiced humbuckers or P90 tones. As if that was not enough, it also has treble bleed, and a dynamic transient filter option. It gets me closer to that classic Peter Green sound than any other Les Paul I have ever found.

So happy you took the time to honour one of the greats! Peter is sorely missed and those that don't know of him are sorely missing out. The legacy of his music and his guitar will live forever while people like you remind us all of his music. The last I heard about him before his passing was that when Mick Fleetwood was holding a tribute to him at a concert in London with many big names, Billy Gibbons, Jonny Lang etc. he was at home drinking tea with Bernie Marsden. When Bernie asked him if he'd like to be there Peter said he'd rather be drinking tea with Bernie! Lol 👍

Congrats on the great sounding Les Paul. Just clicked on the Sweetwater site to see that the Murphy lab Gibsons like yours are priced from $7,100 to $11,500. So the guitar should sound like the key to heaven. For me, a 40 year career now retired hospital X-Ray Technologist living on social security, a guitar of this stature will never be obtainable. Great video, all of us subscribers to your TH-cam channel know that you could make a $200 Chibson sound outstanding.

Tim you seem as happy as a 16 year old kid getting their drivers license. That Tom Murphy Gibson Les Paul sounds fantastic. It does ring true, soft and loud when you play it. It stays in tune, love it, cherish it in sickness and health, never leave it or forsake it for another, unless it is an original 1959 Les Paul. LOL 😂 The Park 100 watt sounds killer absolutely out of this world good. 👍🎸🙏😎✌️

My first guitar hero, Peter Green. I bought Mayall's 2nd lp before Beano and then caught up afterwards. US releases of UK groups like the Yardbirds really confused things as to who was playing. Not to mention Beatles song chronology. Saw Fleetwood Mac (before Danny joined) at Shrine Expo Hall with the Who. Must have been in '67. Always liked Peter playing a New Orleans riff against Jeremy's Elmore James slide part on Heart Beat Like A Hammer. When the Who played Magic Bus, Keith ran offstage (which was actually downstage) into the crowd and brought two kids up onstage, gave them both claves, quickly told them what to play and then returned to his throne and the song began. An inspiring evening all around.

Tim, I was such a fan of Mr. Green, years ago, I took my 1968 Les Paul and Turned around the Neck Pickup on it to get that sound, well it sounded different, but a few years later doing some Research I found out that one of the magnets in the pickup was put in Backwards, DUH, Live and Learn, Cousin Figel

I had the great pleasure as a Pre Teen to see FleetWood and Grand Funk on their Debut Tour at Oglethorpe University Field House in BrookHaven Ga. Only a couple of songs stayed in my mind. About 15 years later I met Peter at his House on Chamblee Tucker Rd close to I85. I had a Strat with a Tele Neck with the middle pickup out (reported to have been Jackson Browns) I was referred to Peter Green to evaluate the Guitar. Peter Greene was so cool and humble and perhaps the nicest man I ever met in my life. Peter referred me to an Alembic Tech in Covington Ga. Dude was like a long grey haired Wizard. 12 unwinds he found the break. tinned both ends then perfectly rewound the 12 winds. Perfection. He wanted $75. I have him a Hundred I guess the year was 1977. Jeremy Graf told me about the guitar and it was at a Vintage Store on Grandview Drive. Friggin Right behind my back yard. Sorry for the long Story. This Video brought back one of my most cherished Memories... Thank You Tim

Think it was sponsored by the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Don't remember the radio station. They received a 45. On side A was Oh Well part 1, on side B was Oh Well part 2. I find that chasing “the one” is a good way for me to be be in a constant state of being never quite satisfied with what I have. Not speaking for you or mankind here, this has just been my experience. I do of course still want more things and try more things but it’s fun and I try not to take it to seriously.
One thing I do to make a stand against the inevitable GAS is try to get good at using what I have. Deep menus, hidden features, Bluetooth functions, MIDI stuff I might have ignored. Not too many years ago people would have spent fortunes to acquire sone of the capabilities I have rn and don’t even realize.
Congrats on the guitar my man 🤟

That Murphy Lab is sick! That tone is outstanding.

Thought for a second there that you might break out with "ten years gone'. Always good to hear someone remember Peter Green.

My second guitar was a Hagstrom copy like this LP. I wish I still owned it. McFayden Music, 1976

I'm sure Tim Pierce has his favorite guitars, but everything I hear him play sounds like gold.

I just started playing this year. I am impressed with your resume'. Not only do you have a guitar built into your body, you are pretty funny. Subscribed.

Both guitars sit beautifully in the mix. I think it's because ANY guitar would sit beautifully in the mix in the hands of Mr. Tim Pierce!! 🙏

Sounds and looks beautiful. I always thought of Black Magic Woman as a Santana song. Fascinating to know Peter Green wrote it and see him playing it! Thanks for posting this video.

Woodworker here. That 3D simmering effect you are describing in figured wood is called chatoyancy.

Magnificent playing as usual! That Murphy lab has one of the most beautiful bursts possible imo!

These new Gibsons are amazing. I have purchased three new Gibsons in the past year and each of them just blows me away every time I play them. They have made me forget all about vintage guitars ( and inflated vintage guitar prices).
