- Alfyn's default class is really good by itself. His Concoct ability is really useful for turn 1 divine skills and for hitting various enemies with elemental damage and status. (The elemental damage themselves are pretty weak, but is really useful for shield breaks)
His Divine skill allows you to use items on the whole party. You can combine this with Pomegranates to spam Divine skills for boss battles.
Last Stand is his most notable and useful skill. It has a built in Fortitude like effect, in which the lower his health, the more damage he does. Combined with Fortitude and a few other skills, Alfyn can hit extremely hard during the first round. Just make sure not to get hit.

As for subclass, you can literally run anything on Alfyn. I like the Warrior subclass because it makes him look like Olberic's student and gives a small ATK boost.

i don't have an overwhelming preference for what language i play in but for alfyn in particular i would much rather the japanese voice. especially since in english he says corny shit like "cool off!" and "you're in for a shock!"

Alfyn is one of my favourites and helped me in a lot of difficult bosses!

Whitout question, my favourite character is Alfyn.
this is so goddamn strong.
I played this game a year ago and i arrived to the point where all my characters are level 90+, there isn't really much to do in the game once your damage is 99,999. You're basically unbeatable, you even have the necklace to turn off all encounters as you walk.
I wish they add a little bit of sidequests after the main story, like maybe quests that would be connected to the next sequel. After the battle with the Dark God, the game felt empty instantly for me since I collected every single best equipment there is, done every little quest, and caught that big rare cat with H'aanit. :/

Currently looking for a way to get him to 1HP the easiest way around. (Since he restores HP whenever he levels) This is beast leveling, and I'd really like to make use of this darn good guide.
Let him fall in battle and use the cleric's revive skill. It should leave him on 1 hp
only problem is when leveling him up. It fills his HP back to full. But it looks like that's the only way to do it. Hope there's an equipment that let's the character stay to 1HP all the time even after leveling.

I love the channel, have been spam watching these videos and the quality is very high! In your opinion what is the best late game staff for elemental damage dps. I want to do a Cyrus with sorcerer build. Thanks!
I believe Battle Tested staff is the strongest elemental attack. However, you shouldn't really need it on Cyrus since it's easy to get cyrus to max elem. atk without it. I just use the Knowledgeable staff on cyrus or maybe the one that does additional ice damage. So long as you get 999 elem. atk, then it doesn't really matter and you can give your best staff to someone who needs it. My Cyrus doesn't even need the elemental augmentation accessories because his elem. atk is already maxed. So you can try different combinations between staff, accessories, and the stat boost nuts to see what works best for you.

tykejack oh so the additional element damage weapons increase the damage beyond the 999 cap? Interesting I assumed max element was the highest it could go no matter what. Do support skills that boost element damage boost him beyond his max at all?
No, I was literally explaining that it caps at 999. So with armor and accessories, if you're at 800 elem. atk, then there is no reason to use a staff with 399 elemental attack on it because half of that stat boost will be wasted since it will only boost you to 999. I was saying it's better to give your best staff to a weaker character who'll be able to use the entire 399 buff from the weapon since all stats max cap at 999. However, it's just a matter of what you want to combine. You can combine accessories, armor, stat nuts, and weapons to boost your character.
Keep in mind, the buff from your weapon will only display on the stat sheet while you have it selected. That's when it will show in blue instead of the default white color. So long as that blue number is 999, then you have max elemental damage. So I was explaining that how I could get Cyrus to that 999 without using the Battle Tested Staff or the Elemental Augmentations, so it's better to use those items on another character. However, it all depends on how you want to built
I personally recommend saving stat nuts until the end because once you spend them, you can't undo it unless you reload a previous save file.

H'aanit mercy strike?
there are four ways to get someone to 1 hp. losing a challenge/provoke (olberic/hannit only), using "hang tough" support skill, using the "prevents instant death" accessory, or using "revive" with no boost.

I like to use the thief sub job on him. I’m already boosting his speed so he can act first for concoct, so why not just have him with thief for the divine skill?

if alvin is that strong, why not use him in party for exp grind, killing all the mob with 1 hit would be much faster than using Bewildering Grace, no? for that I would just need to maximize fighter and apotecary skills right?

How important are nuts in this game for stat gains to reach these levels of damage? I've been kinda hoarding them, while only using Fortifying Nuts on H'aanit and Olberic and Nourishing Nuts for Cyrus. I might give the Light Nuts for +spd Alfyn.
So far it seems equipment and skills are more important.

Same here honestly. Galdera has been this brick wall for me. If my apocathery can just waltz in and do this level of damage, that'll help a lot.
One question, how u get physical dmg buff at first turn? Is it lion dance from dancer or what?
I just hate how Last Stand requires you to be low on health to be useful. That kinda goes against the whole "apothecary" thing. While everyone else is able to plow through enemies, he can't unless he's already almost dead.

Yes, but 3000 isn't nothing compared to the 40,000+ he's dealing at 1 HP.
Flareboxx It is still considerable damage.
Especially in the early game, I regularly use it at full health, and it still does nearly as much damage as all my other AoE attacks. Sometimes more.
It has never done as much as my other AoE attacks. It's just not a notable strategy in big boss fights or he'll die right away. I just hate that.

Why make so many videos about each character if you just gonna show off fortitude, don't you have another build that can do high amount of damage without using fortitude

How do you get 1 hp on a character? I only get around 300 then Olberic starts to cover for my apothecary Ophelia.
Have them die in battle, then have ophelia or the sub class use vivify, which will always heal you with 1hp if you dont boost it.

How do you get those numbers with other abilities than last stand? Its not like Apothecary is anything special when it comes to offensive stats. Warrior, Theif and hunter are all better.
He uses all of his Stat Nuts to boost them for whatever he needs. He mentioned this in one of the comments on his OP Olberic video. With the right Nuts, you can make anyone a mage, warrior, thief, whatever. Keep in mind that nuts give you an increase on your base stats, so they work better with some characters over others. However, at the end of the day, you can just boost the hell out of one character if you really want to.
I personally saved all my nuts for the end, right before the last secret boss, so I can use them on different characters and try different builds or setups to test on the final gauntlet.

If you want to do this on someone else, you let them die, then use the cleric's revive skill: this gives them 1 hp to put them on their feet, and nothing more.
