I have watched a lot of you tubers doing the gibb they show a bit of roads but mainly the lovely spots thank you so much for showing bothe the lovely spots but the amazing coverage of the road conditions and the cameras in your van enjoying the episodes
That was hectic! But wow the memories that you are making will last forever and what an adventure you are having. Bummer about the fridge, but it’s a Gibb story to tell later 😂. Also congrats on hitting 3k!!!
Love it. Brings back awsum memories from 2 years ago. We went east to west with minimal breakages. Great experience, we'd do it again i reckon. Keep up the good work. 👍
Wow that was a ride. Fingers crossed the fridge is a small fix. I said to my hubby (Jim). I don’t think I could handle it. But hey your living it for us xx
Gee, that corrugation looked like when we went to Drysdale yrs ago. That's a bugger about your fridge. Same this happened to us over Easter & lucky we had Waeco 90ltr in the back of Patrol, so feel your pain.😢 Ours was circuit board but 3-way fridge. Hope it's nothing major.🤞 Hope you 2 had a wonderful "kid free" moment together & the famous scones hit the spot!❤
Hi, I have been watching your awesome videos and the bicycle cover at 7:18 caught my eye. Would you be able to tell me what brand it is and where it was from? Really struggling to source a decent cover for our bikes while travelling with our van! Thanks in advance
Another great raw episode. Sorry about the fridge, hope it’s just something simple to get it back up and running. I know we will never do that road, so watching you guys is enough for us. Wow, now over 3000 subs, knew you would do it. 🎉😊
@@fivedownunder I sure wouldn’t blame you. We would do it too if it was bitumen. Safe travels for the next leg, well I hope it was seeing as we will see that one tomorrow. 🙂
Hi guys, excellent video. Planning our round the country trip, starting in 8 weeks. Are you running a scan gauge in the Navara and if yes which one and does it do the automatic transmission temps? Keep up the good work.
Hey 👋 thankyou so much for watching! We use the eds scan gauge, no it doesn't show transmission temps, we use it just to keep an eye on coolant temps 😄
@@fivedownunder Thank you for your reply. Really enjoyed the video on the car and caravan problems, good points, etc. As I have a 2018 Navara I was very interested in your opinion on the vehicle. Thanks once again. I'll keep watching and have subscribed.
we did the gibb two years ago and its worse that it is today down to 5khm for ours our friend lost his frige as well the core snapped and broke his suspention camber bolt let go but in all would do it again loved it and yes the dust crazy have fun guys the next bit to elquestro is bad .
I realise it’s a few days since you aired this episode but just wanted to let you know that we had an issue with our fridge where it stopped all together and wouldn’t work on any of the three modes, we managed to get it to a Dometic repairer in Mt USA and strangely enough they only had to restart a mother board or board behind the display panel (or something like that and the fridge has worked perfectly ever since
Just thinking about your request for help re the little one. I personally don't do kids! But I have friends who do and they say things like yes the kids will drift off to sleep right when you get to your destination. Other things are that they want to be held by their mum as you can expect but of course they are forced to stay in the car seat and everytime they have that need for mum time, they scream either just one yell or repeatedly or consistently. There is little you can do other than stop repeatedly and get them out of the car seat and nurse them for a while. I can't handle the screaming which is why I don't have kids. So I can't vouch for these fixes personally, but others say they worked for them....usually! Sorry about your fridge. I'll keep that one in mind for when I get over there. I would like to travel that part of the country, but hopefully with fridge intact! Perhaps I might turn it off before travel each day and put my stuff in the car fridge. I don't know. I might not even get there!
What happens when you come to a part of a single track and someone is coming the other way, with a van too? Or you need to turn around and find another root? I take my hat off to people who try a bush road with anything other than a off road camper trailer.
Luckily, the main roads have got enough room for two vehicles and caravans, there are some smaller tracks to gorges (which most people only take their cars to) but we didn't come across other caravans on those sorts of roads, which was good haha! Normally, there are some spots to pull over though. 😁😁
Hi have just started watching day 6. Brother-in-law and my self were watching day 5 and wondered how everybody is protecting their pipes under the caravans.
0MG 🤬🤬😡😡😥😥 Hope u can get the fridge up and running🥰 PLEASE - I have to know how are the pot plants able to withstand the corrugations - I feel seasick watching them but it's fascinating- mesmorising🤣🙃 I also hope you are having a better day today and enjoyed your "child free" morning Travel safe - will be thinking of you with fingers crossed Jan Adelaide
Oh our child free morning was magnificent 😍😍 The plants are just fake ones, so don't weigh much at all and we use double sided Velcro on the bottom of the pot and shelf and they stay there 😁

Haha yea that's right! I can tell my Gibb story forever 🤭😍
Thankyou! I can't believe we've hit 3k 😲 mind blowing! 😍
My fridge does the same thing. I have to tap it 8-10 very quick taps then tap and hold to turn on and turn off the same.
Yea, we had that problem start as well a while back before these problems happen lol
I can see now that that wasn't the problem.

Kid free baths were amazing and the scones topped it off 😍😍😍

See if the front of the fridge controller panel comes off it could be as easy as a loose wire
Good luck
Thankyou 😄 we can't seem to get the front panel off unfortunately... will have to visit someone in Kununurra we think

From years of experience tekscrew lengths of conveyor belt or heavy rubber backed carpet from Bunnings under your van
This is a great idea!!
Amazing! We pretty much have all used pool noodles on all the piping 😄
Love you guys. Looks like your all having a great time. Even though it's rough lol

Unfortunately, nothing 🥲
If you guys think the Gibb is the worst road in Australia…
You have a lot to learn …
We've travelled alot of Australia, and for us, it was the worst road we have done 👍
👁️👁️😎😇🐕🦺❤️🙏

Yeah go camping in Aussie. See all the off road caravans listen to the generators loud music and loud voices. RUINED!
Wow. Nice Rant!!
@@michaelnewell1 yeah ha ha!
You do have a point.
@@michaelnewell1 yes I used to work for a living on that Gibb river road. I live in the North.
Yea, we only use our generators in an emergency. We try to be as quiet as we can...
20 all around is perfect
Good advice 👍
