OK, I guess, but strategic rivets and screw clamps enable the muffler to be serviced and the internals decarboned and repacked. Welding everything severely limits the lifespan of the muffler, or leads to a lengthy and labour intensive grinding and rewelding job.

Since you are the expert. I want your advice.
I have a single cylinder long stroke 350cc bike (Honda CB 350RS).
Somehow the stock exhaust has more treble than bass.
Can you advice me how to make it more bassy and less metallic sounding.
I would assume having a perforated tube in the middle with ceramic wool wrap should work.
But I am not sure if I should use a wide perforated tube with less ceramic wool or narrow perforated tube with more ceramic wool

I would use perforated tube that leave 10mm space for wrapping material.

If I leave more space like 20mm for the wrapping material. How does it change the sound profile compared to 10 mm ?
Will it make the exhaust quieter or louder compared to 10mm one ?

If the outlet pipe will be the same diameter as the perforated pipe inside, the difference between 10mm and 20mm wool is small, because straight-through mufflers are loud no matter what kind of packing material is used. The best option is to wrap the perforated pipe first with stainless steel wool (you can use stainless steel scouring pads) and then with wool, so it will last longer.
what should it sounds like if that design will be used on lower cc's like 125-150cc scooters?
I don't know, I haven't tried how it would sound on a smaller engine.
The sound mostly depends on engine types, configurations...

About 3 kg, but the materials I used are thicker than they should be.
