    Ironically my two hero’s in life. I was born & raised in Pittsburgh & grew up loving Bradshaw. Then I became a huge Phil Robertson fan from Duck Dynasty. Both are deeply religious which makes it even better. Both are great role models..

      @@johnford9070 he got that from the fact that Phil was the starting quarterback at college and future hall of fame Terry Bradshaw was his backup quarterback - Phil was that good, even though his heart wasn’t in it, because he wanted to go hunting full time.
      Obviously had he kept playing, he had a good shot at also being in the HOF.
      Phil got the better deal - he’s rich and famous without his body being wracked with pain from many years of football injuries.
      Not that he cares about being rich and famous. That wasn’t his goal.
      And his experience is an example of God blessing those who love him, even doing something as trivial to the world as duck hunting.

      I think Terry said in another interview that Phil was clean shavin and had a buzz cut back during their football days but could you imagine him coming to practice with duck guts and God only knows what else all over him. Lol. They both seem like great guys.

    Bradshaw does owe Robertson, Robertson quit ..had that not happened, who knows where Bradshaw would have been..hunting ducks? ;) both men are awesome and both grew to be men of God. Doesn't get better that. EVER.

      William Merbs it wouldn’t affect me, but there is a good portion of people who care about religion when it comes to who they admire as celebrities. I’ve seen people get flamed for not thanking god when they get drafted, win a super bowl, etc. People loved Tebow because he was all about Jesus even though he wasn’t exactly the best QB. Religion definitely plays a factor

    I saw his book, titled "Happy, Happy, Happy" at the grocery store recently and picked it up to look at some of the pictures of his younger days. There was a picture of him, Bradshaw and two other QBs in uniform.

    Amazing...Bradshaw had one of the strongest arms of any QB, ever. Was a champion javelin thrower and early on could run a 4.5 forty time. And he was backing up Phil Robertson who quit to start an empire.

      @@user-bq9ii9vz8e Yes, I am. This is when he was a rookie. Some of his former teammates said he was the fastest player on the team. I saw one video of him running and he was flying. Then he had a bunch of knee injuries and that slowed him down. He was really an incredible athlete and never got credit for his athleticism.

      @@user-bq9ii9vz8e I'm not trying to say it. His former teammates are trying to say it. You also have to remember that guys weren't running 4.3 forties at the time. The training was vastly different. They weren't trained like a track star to runt he 40's, the conditions were slower and the footwear wasn't nearly as good.
      When they have guys going to the combine running the 40, those guys are specifically trained by track coaches and they spend months working on specifically running the fastest 40 time they can. Back in Bradshaw's day, nearly 50 years ago...those guys didn't have the technique involved.
      But anyway, I'm just repeating what I heard from watching a show on Terry Bradshaw a while ago. It may have been A Football Life. I can't quite recall.

      Of course, Joe Namath was once a really good athlete and injuries made him slow and awkward so it’s possible that Bradshaw may have been pretty quick at one time

    My buddy met Phil in the early to mid 1990's when Phil was selling the early model of his duck calls. It was in either in Denver or Nevada at a big convention show and poor Phil was just miserable cause he wasn't hunting or fishing. He was indoors trying to sell his wares. My buddy said Phil was so cool and nice, just a downhome man. My bud was a duck hunter and fisherman also. So cool to see Phil hit it big with his duck calls. I knew the story about Bradshaw getting the starting job at QB because all phil wanted to do was hunt and fish. Bradshaw told that story long before Duck Commander then Duck Dynasty shows.

      @Frenchy I'm not sure that I would say Jameis Winston has top three tier skills. He is not even close to Drew brees, Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers, I'm not sure he's close to Lamar Jackson or Deshaun Watson. You forgot gunslinger Ben Roethlisberger, 393 touchdowns 191 interceptions.

      So if you are a true bible believer and not one of these hypocrits that pic and choose what they want to believe, then all women should be submissive to men.

    I just talked to a defense of player that played on the team with both Terry and Phil Robertson he's a truck driver now and he had some really interesting stories about him and he said exactly what Terry said about the duck guts and everything and always showed up late

      I think it's more about the individual uniqueness that "God" puts into evry living thing, as the "Divine Creator" ( whether they belive in him or not)....
      Besides, One should not pray for material things and expect them in return, for their praying.... that's not the way the relathionship works, between you and God.

    Amazing that Terry did not beat out Phil. Phil had to quit before Terry could start. And Phil quit to go Duck hunting. I do not even like the taste of duck.
