No jokes this time. This has been the absolute best playthrough of this expansion without exception. My thanks. You sir, are the master of close-up solo board game presentation. I’m in awe. Great game … Regarding the Loki pre-Con office pool…put me down for $20 on Justice, boss.
Man!! What a great game I enjoyed every minute of it. I would say this the best expansion yet. A lot to keep track of and remember, that’s what makes it challenging. Thanks for sharing.
It's such a crazy scenario with lots going on, I messed it up a few times before I got a clean win. Just so you know at 25:00, you healed with Norn stones when you couldn't :) you had already exhausted it to ready Adam - flipping it doesn't ready it. There was one more time you missed a stone activation - which is really easy to do - that you didn't call out ^^
Great play through as usual, late watching as am just only getting round to playing it myself. But at 11:25 shouldn't Odin have been discarded or is he immune somehow?
@@DaletheCasualGamer Thanks for clarifying. Am always impressed at how fast you play, especially whilst talking. My two handed games seem to take twice as long.
I have a question. At 39:32 you play Karmic Blast and decide to stop after the required amount of aspect cards is reached. However, the discard part of the card comes before the arrow. Shouldn't it be the part of the cost to play this card and therefore be declared before you start resolving its effect?
Thanks for watching! I’m hoping for a FAQ for clarification. Sounds like the majority is going for declaration prior to discarding. I recorded there about 2 months ago before discussion began. :)
@Aldo Haegemans I use Dragon Shield clear matte sleeves. I do use another brand for the villain and character cards, so it's easy to find them in case I shuffle them all together, but Dragon Shield is my brand for shuffling cards for sure! :)
After watching a A bunch of your videos. I think I know what I finally been doing wrong and losing all the time. It looks like all the heroes go and then the villain. I’ve been playing with one hero turn and one villain turn this entire time
Also PSA, you will find yourself valuing Soul World a lot more highly when you play Adam solo! It's an amazing card - you just didn't really need it in multiplayer-standard :)
Some people call it “magic”, others call it “cheat phase”. I should have kept the other card in my hand. I just counted until I had 5 in hand, overlooking the one on the table. Oops. :)
Hey when you put Warlocks nemesis in play early the summoned back says put into play not reveal. Should quickstrike have applied? I get confused sometimes with those so I wanna make sure I’m doing it right lol.
Quickstrike always activates when a minion engages you, regardless of if it was put into play or revealed. This even applies before things like Lie In Wait, which kill it after it activates
@B Morais Quickstrike activates when the minion "engages", so being put in play will still trigger. Hope that helps! Thanks for the assist Graceclaw! :)
Dude, I FINALLY beat Loki(standard) with Thor(Aggression) and Captain America(Leadership). My strategy was to free Fandral for Captain America and Volstagg for Thor. I used Fandral and Odin to thwart and Volstagg to chump block for Thor. I lost Volstagg after a few turns and was in a bind. I stared at Thor’s hand of cards, pondering my next move, knowing I was toast without a few blockers. Looking closer at one of the cards in my hand, “For Asgard!”…I had this epiphany-I could recall Volstagg and play him again for free using that card because he(Volstagg) has the Asgard keyword-I can’t believe I had never thought of that before!!!! I then realized I could use “Make The Call” with Captain America to keep recalling Fandral and playing him for free. Omg it was so sweet. He was instrumental in controlling the threat and I would have lost without him. He essentially never left play because I brought him back soooo many times. 😂 A key card for me was the aggression card Counterattack. I opted to put 3 copies in Thor’s deck because I kept getting hit with that Seduced encounter card(Enchantress) which cost me a lot of actions/resources just to get rid of it. I had to be very careful using Counterattack because all versions of Loki hit SO hard-or in other words, I had to Counterattack but without dying in the process. 😂 Between this and some well-placed Hammer 🔨 Throws, I was whittling him down little by little. On the final turn I one shotted Laufey with Thor’s hammer throw(oh it was so sweet!)-dealing 2 overkill damage to knock off Loki’s “tough” status card. Loki only had 6 health left and it was Cap’s turn…and I finished off that a-hole with a Heroic Strike. Just an epic win. 1 point of health left on Thor and 4 health left on Cap but hey, a win’s a win!
@lightninlad Sounds like a great game, and poor Volstagg, getting beat-up trying to rest and then getting called back into action so quickly! :) Thanks for the game update! Loki is a beast to deal with!
So it’s been a while since I’ve played. I noticed there were a bunch of acceleration symbols on schemes and villain upgrades you had in play. I mean the arrow pointing upward. Aren’t you supposed to add more threat to the main scheme each villain phase? I didn’t see that. There’s a lot going on with this scenario.
@kamb26. Yes, acceleration symbols add another threat during step 1 of the villain phase. If you have a time stamp, I can double check. Thanks for watching! :)
You only add acceleration tokens when the encounter deck runs out, not the player deck(s), right? When a player deck runs out you deal an encounter card.
@@DaletheCasualGamer where in the South are you from Dale? You're so meticulous with and even-keeled during all your playthroughs. Do you ever lose your cool? 😂
@@GoGoReacts I play games to relax, so if a game gives me the urge to flip the table, you can expect that game to be leaving the collection soon. So far, no tables have been flipped. One game of 52 card pick up as a kid taught me it's not fun cleaning up afterwards. And I'm from Harrisonburg, VA. Can't hide the accent. ;)
Seeing one comment on Gamma Blast and nothing from FFG in the Errata, I’m not following that persons-conglomerate’s opinion on such. “Change to Gamma energy form and deal 7 damage to an enemy. ….” Change form is the first action which should cause a pause. Hero Response can be done when triggered. Trigger was when you changed forms, before doing the 7 damage. Now I’ll have to see if you have any Spectrum videos after this one. 🤭. Hope you continued playing as you were. 😊
I think using Gamma blast, the one point of damage from form swap resolves after gamma blast does, so 7 then 1. This didn't matter here but the timing is important. I was doing that removing toughness, but the attack resolves before the gamma form swap does. So no ping with the swap first.
@Tactical Canuck Sounds fair. I'm not sure of the timing as the response to changing to gamma form triggers "immediately". Have you seen a FAQ clarifying timing? Thanks for the help! :)
@@DaletheCasualGamer I asked on a facebook group specifically for this game (nice, good group!) and that was the resounding conclusion.
