I'm way older than you and I've seen several versions of Zod. This one certainly is the most well written and acted. His first move both on Krypton and earth is diplomacy... What made him great is that he was an opponent rather than a villan. Many films after this took that approach... And, actually Kal and his dad are traitors and thieves....

@@nathancruz9172 Na man... in the 1st major sequence of the film. When Zod busts into the council chamber he's talking about how the politicians were in "endless debate" and had lead Krypton to ruin. So, ya in that act he did overtake by force (technically making him a traitor)... but that was after watching politicians do nothing about what Krypton was facing (extinction). So we(the audience) are introduced at a time when Zod had tried diplomacy for years and finally revolted. And as portrayed by the film he had many supporters. In that same scene (when he busts in to the council) ... he clearly tries to reason with Jor. And later in the fim he say they did agree that Krypton was dying. So apparently things between them had been civil up until that time. Zod does not attack Jor until later. And at that time Jor had Stolen the Codex (making him a traitor as well). I love the way Zod's character was written. He Never lies... not even to Kal about being at odds with his father (Jor) and killing him. And according to this narrative Zod was right... All the people of Krypton were destroyed... and maybe everyone knew it was doomed anyway... but how to escape it is what all the Political debate was about. Both Jor and Zod knew they had run out of time... and if we take a look at the human history books it would not be the first time an empire fell due to politics. Maybe you and I are like Zod and Jor... Can't agree on it... other than it's a Great Film Script. The only thing I Really hated about the film was Amy Adams... She's so ugly I can't look at her. @Luc Germain The Dark Knight is not a comic book movie. It is a crime drama with characters loosely based on comic book characters. V for Vendetta is a political movie with all of the politics from the comic either removed or watered down. Watchmen is a soulless piece of crap with (some) pretty visuals and a husk of the story and themes that the comic is about. Zack Snyder did to Watchmen the same thing he did to Dawn of the Dead. Removed its soul and all sense of wonder and replaced it with his myopic edgy thirteen year old view of the world. His best movie is Legend of Guardians: Owls of Ga'Hoole because the constraints of it being a children's film ironically prevented his inherent lack of maturity to ruin the source material.

i'm marvel fan
but i love this epic scene
4:00 the flying fight scene is really goat, never saw a fight scene like this in superhero movies
The days without injury count goes from 106 to 0 when Kal gets smacked into it😂😂
Add Hans Zimmer score to these moments and it was just the icing on top of this cake. Will forever be such a amazing movie... A gem.
Background music was majestic😩
Zod’s dialogue have so much depth and empathy, he’s strong in loyalty and leadership as a soldier and in love for his people’s safety and care, even though he tried to execute an evil plot to kill Earth to resurrect Krypton. Behind that he believes his intentions are good, atleast for his people. He’s not a fool he knows what he’s doing is morally wrong, you’ll see a scene after Jor-El debating with Zod and you see how Zod for a moment Zod has that doubt on his face and almost regrets his plot to save Krypton. A small part of him doesn’t want to succeed.
“I exist only to protect Krypton, that is the sole purpose for which I was born and every action I take no matter how violent or how cruel it’s for the greater good of my people. And now I have no people…my soul, *THAT IS WHAT YOU HAVE TAKEN FROM ME”*
“I was bred to be a warrior,Cal.
Trained my entire life, mastered my senses.
*Where Did You Train, AT A FARM.”*
Absolutely epic. Snyder’s cinematography and visual storytelling is amazing!
This is what superhuman fight looks like. Not just some dudes swinging on webs or punching shields. This shit right here. Structures destroyed, everything in sight blowing up, people getting rekt left right and center.
mcu be like😂
No shit, their literary kryptonians
Yeah, because these guys have the power to destroy an entire city, a superhuman with webs doesn't, dumbass.
The success of the mcu vs the dceu would suggest otherwise.
No
This is a masterpiece and the best superhero movie ever !
Big facts
infinity war, logan, the batman>
This Is the only movie that really looked like a superhero movie true anime live action fight sequence.
Marvel might be more enthusiastic and has better comic release but DC has it when it comes to fight scenes
Facts
Comic seriously?
For someone with a conscious mind, he is extremely inflexible. He is baaically free to do whatever he wants once the planet is destroyed.
You can break chains, but not memories.
@@daneyal7162 Yes, but his mission is to protect the planet, here, if he is successful in his mission, he will be the creator of the rebirth of Krypton, which was not what he was born to do anyways (general), so his lengthy explanation about wanting to protect his people, to bring them all back, is all lies because he has become a corrupted, tyrannical and power hungry individual who wants to be more than just a general.
You obviously are not someone with a sense of duty.
@@KyranSparda His duty is not to destroy a civilization to bring back his planet, his duty was to fight for his planet as a soldier. His planets destruction was not the cause of anyone but themselves, they destroyed themselves, why should humans or superman pay the price? He should just accept the reality and move on.
@@nicholaslee5473 You’re trying to think about this rationally lol. Zod is emotional and completely irrational about the whole thing because of said strong sense of duty being instilled in him since birth.
Bro about time someone posted this 4k
Ya.... I'm sick of low quality shit cuts....
Some Random Guy I liked the black bars from widescreen, ever since.
This really feels like two gods are actually fighting
2:28 - You have to watch it frame by frame to see that there are shockwaves in the air when they punch each other… It's a nice detail I only caught when editing this...
@@RAZR_Channel yeah I noticed the shockwaves after seeing this movie so many times, so underrated
Pretty weak gods. Their fists connecting should shatter galaxies not a street.
@sidcomegys4154 pretty weak comment for such a hater. Your statement should cause brain cells to die for people reading it
@@sidcomegys4154bruh
This film is so good at showing just how devastating it would be if two god like beings had a 1-v-1 fight like this
After watching the flash, Superman>>>>>>>Supergirl
Dragon Ball Z need a movie like this
Hell yeah. Zack snyder even named a kryptonian in this movie namek lol

He's got that unrelenting anger shtick down pat. What's funny is Michael Shannon is such a sweetheart IRL
The Greatest Superman movie ever made
you can tell when General Zod started flying superman knew he had to stop holding back because he was learning too quickly how to use his powers
The fight has to be just the right amount of time so the movie credits end 5 only minutes before the next viewing forcing the underpaid cleaning staff to deal with cleanup in 3 minutes or less (1 minute to get in and 1 to get out).... it's like Black Friday after every showing except the last... Many a janitor died to bring us this information...
The scariest part is that there is NO WHERE safe to hide…..
My boss in corporate America has a personality that is very to similar to Zod
No where at all
I mean, there are the sewers
"Superman doesn't kill"
Also Superman : *Decimates an entire city block using Zod's forehead as a battering ram*
When did superman destroy the city again
Everytime they punch themselves they create a shockwave strong enough to create massive destruction. What a strength
“Where did you train, on a farm?” From there every action scene was Snyder rage build through this cinematic strategy.
The shockwaves after each punch bro🔥🔥🔥
2:28 zod really has hands
"Only Superman can stop Zod"
I remember when this first came out the biggest complaint was about the destruction and explosions, and it's like you're talking about two aliens who can break the sound barrier by swinging their fists of course there's going to be casualties especially considering this was superman's first run as the man of steel he had never faced something like this before. This is the one time where it felt like the destruction made sense and added to the overall dceu narrative. This movie is my comfort movie and I stand by it when I say it was underrated and this fight scene proves it
The Best Superman and Superman Movies ever.
Zod: Look at this.
Kal: It's dirt. So what.
They say that Superman here is nothing but a destructor... Yeah... Now think about what would happen to, not only a city, but the entire Earth human population, if Zod were succeeded. Well, yes. He truly saved us from a greater danger than just destroying half a city.
It turned out only a fraction of city was destroyed considering the size of Metropolis.
@@Tippotipo Yeah, but you get the point-
@@mdeleon9481 yeah it pretty much would've been omni man destroying the flaxan planet but in live action with zod. even scarier, nobody would see it coming. hes fast as hell. (black adam is still sleeping) even flash hasnt gotten his powers yet. mother box woulda slept in a coma lmfao
And to that I would say, "Have you ever even seen a real fight? How hard it is to stop an ~200 pound human fighting you every step of the way, holding nothing back? Now imagine that ~200 pound human is a near godlike creature, trained as a soldier, holding nothing back. Good luck." Zero collateral damage was never an option here.
The fight between zod and Superman will always be one the most legendary fights
greatest movie of all time. that whole fight scenes is genius
Gotta respect zods ability to master his superpowers in a matter of days when Clark had his entire life to do so.
This movie was underrated.
I feel bad for the carpenter who would rebuild metropolis after this fight.
I wouldn't! They would be in such a high demand they would be making money hand over fist!

As a superhero film, its incredibly well directed and a fantastic film. As a Superman film, it completely misses the point of the character Superman and makes him extremely dull and boring.
Because ppls are morons and they like silly jokes from marvel
@@morro190 No it doesn't. Nobody wants that campy and cheesy stuff no more. World is totally different. Superman was just fine. Quit nit picking🙄
@@midwestkrazy83turner50You are welcome to have your opinion. But I'm glad they are moving on from synder. I find most of his films to be snore fests. They always have to be edited with a dark filter and what he considers cool, I consider overly edgy. You may call the old stuff goofy, but I call most of the new stuff cringe.
If this movie was to be released now bro we know dc would be packing bags of money
Real
This is what we need in a live action DBZ movie.
I used 3d specs in theatre for man of steel in 2013. Seriously i am impressed his zack snyder movie directions movie design background effort make me impressed. oh whole theatre clapped. I will 100 go times if this will release again
What I like about this is how it shows how someone breaks down and loses it when their beliefs, or purpose is just shattered into pieces.
It isn't the most in depth, but it was still interesting to see.
Best superheroes movie ever honestly 👏👏👏
Zod should've done what Omni-Man did.
Zack Snyder is a genius.
I remember when final fight scene came the whole theater became like football stadium 😍😍🤩🤩
This is still the best and my favorite dceu movie imo
Based from this movie, Sup will have a little advantage with jiu jitsu² and wrestling² moves, cause they don't seem to take damage nor even slow down with punches or kicks.
² i mean breaking joints.
someone explain how this has better cgi than the flash
I’m trying to figure out as well, probably budget

Every thing about this is a masterpiece
And here we are! 2023 after watching the flash and its gorgeous cgi...
The DCU started off so promising
the anger in zods face as he speaks is terrifying.
lol this whole movie was just Zack Snyder seeing how much destruction he could get in on one movie.
Don’t forget Zod literally just got to Earth. Can you imagine if he was on Earth as long as Superman. That would of been the biggest ass Whoopin Superman has ever had.
3:42-3:48 I really enjoyed this movie, when I was 16 years old. Also, I liked this version of Zod wears the same costume as Superman, except the letter on his 🛡.
@@RAZR_Channel I didn’t know that. But, I always know Zod is still a traitor and trying to take over krypton before Jor El sentence him and his allies to the phantom zone.
Lois Lane is traditionally a Screaming Hot Brunette.
Best superheroe movie in history!!! So much chills in this fight scene
@@Andre-hm5vo Avengers 1 is best that's why most of the zsjl scenes were copied from Avengers 1
If you want proof then just search similarities between Avengers and JL movie
Infinity War
Everything on this movie is perfection!!!
Love that little smirk Zod gives Kal after says he’s going to stop him. Just like “come on then, boy, I’ve been waiting for a fucking fight.”
i still don't understand why people hated how the city got destroyed. Like, two people with godlike abilities fight and you expect it to just be throwing some punches and no repercussions? no, there will be damage, this fight is just realistic to what would actually happen in this scenario.
How could WB's see this and think "hmmmmm, let's change direction pls" 💀💀💀 BIG L
