Except when James shouts "Bootsy!", it's a call to Bootsy's bass part to come in and it doesn't. Man I know this is nit picking but that's like my favourite moment in the original live track... "Clyde! ... Bootsy!", JB was a conductor and incredible vocalist.. Sick edit.
@@MrLukescheybeler Good spot! It doesn't really take anything away from this outstanding mix, but I agree it's important to remember how James would "conduct" the band as they performed. One of his many genius level talents.
@@EyeMixMusic one story I heard was a lot of this shit he’s saying while the band are, frankly, laying it the fuck down, are little criticisms and nudges. Like “I can hear ya”. He’d be looking at the horn player saying… “not tight enough, you fucked up” and then he’d fine them after the show. Amazing musical force… but a total monster.

I still think tjis later version which was released with audience dubbed in on the Sex Machine album is the best James Brown classic and led to a whole generation of Hip-Hope sampling and proved how brilliant Clyde Stubblefield and John "Jabo" Starks were as "pocket" drummers with the basslines during the rise of "Funk"
was at a music festival and Dj Sneak dropped this jewel on the set... everyone went berzerk !!! extreme vibe to it.. makes me wanna learn breakdance and spin for hours !!
The king of soul and funk, James Brown. It has definitely influenced the way of understanding the music of today in terms of dance music. It is a master piece. Of all, it's my rhythm idol. He influenced Michael Jackson, my second idol as a musician. I think the two are the best musicians in the history of dance music, in nightclubs or wherever you want to dance and feel the rhythm. Listening to them anywhere is always a luxury for your senses
