People have forgotten how good he was. He didn't do da Moonwalk or backslide but he did a equavalent move just look into da TH-cam archive's. He had a move where he looked like he was doing da moonwalk sideways & everytime he did da mash patatoes backward it looked similar to da moonwalk. He also perfected a move called da. Camel Walk 🚶

Man he put on a show dat night 🌙 I think he had just released Popcorn. We also saw Billy Stewert da original singer of Sitting in the Park & I do Love U. He put on a great show too. I saw James Brown for the first time when I was six-years-old in 1967. He truly was the hardest working man in show business! As a family we never missed him when he appeared in Atlanta. But my fondest memory of him was when my Dad spotted him at Atlanta’s Airport on Christmas Day. Dad pointed him out and encouraged me to go tell him I was one of his biggest fans. What is amazing, is that a whole genre of music (hiphop) was influenced thru the direct sampling and sound collections of this one man's music...which has generated hundreds of millions of dollars, from the late 1970s to beyond 2020. What a legacy!

The man's music is literally a great component of hip hop music. His breaks were so accessible to DJ'S when they were just playing breaks in the early and mid 70's. Sampling which came in the mid 80's made it easy to capture what the earlier DJ'S were catching on the 1 and 2's....the producers could now put his breaks on wax and create what later became known as hip hop. Thank you Godfather of Soul aka Soul Brother No. One

I saw this Soul Brother in 1975 when I was 8. I could not stop looking at his feet, it was most amazing thing I’ve ever seen. And the sounds coming from that band was some of the greatest sounds my ears had the pleasure of hearing. I was mesmerized that evening. I went with my mom and older brother in Fayetteville, NC. What he could have done if he had a cordless mic in his day.

YESS YES YESS…Where all the other impersonators of dance followed, James Brown shone the light and lead from the beginnings.
Prince, Michael, all those RnB singers who can dance their arses off do it from the inspiration of James’s moves.
That’s why he will always be head and shoulders above all others with those outstanding dance moves.

Please inform me who apart from the Nicolas brother may have inspired James Brown to move like he did.
I saw him three times in real life and have seen dozens of dancers try to emulate his moves and when they did, no other hardest working showman’s name came to or even comes to the minds of those but James Brown!
Always been in a class of his own just as the likes of Prince & Micheal…

That was amazing!! Well put together. Probably the best James Brown compilation I've seen on YT. What an amazing performer and dancer. JB made a lot of that fancy footwork up on his own, or added some extra funky stuff to some regular dances. (i sat here either smiling hard or wide eyed (or both) the entire 8 minutes).

James Brown carried the entire weight of the musical world on his shoulders back in the day. Everyone paid attention to this man. You couldn't take your eyes off him. He'd be up on stage with 20 different performers, and he might as well have been up there by himself for how much attention the background players received compared to him. His influence was enormous as well. It wasn't just fans who couldn't take their eyes off him. Every notable musician of his time was turning to James Brown and trying to steal some of his mojo for themselves. Hendrix, Jagger, MJ and Prince all copied his showmanship. He was the embodiment of rock and funk and soul. There is and will only ever be one James Brown.
