I was in the DC Area on January 6th, 2024 as part of my trip to Washington Grove, an awesome pedestrianized suburb in Maryland.
This was my Metro ride on the Red Line back to Union Station so I could take Amtrak back to New Jersey. I was on a 7000 series train so we got automated announcements (the driver kept fiddling with them though) and digital display maps. On this day trains from Shady Grove were short-turning at Noma (the first station after Union) because of work between Noma and Brookland.
Tried to show you what the area around the aboveground stations is like as the doors were open. People diss DC Metro stations for not having enough TOD, but there is a lot of new and old development around the stations.
