  • It is not a barnfind.
Guess it is assembled by somebody with the leftovers from other restorations.
The M42 is a Swedish motorcycle hastily conceived in WW2. About 3000 were made for the military including 300 with conventional rigid rear frame and sidevalve engine. In the late fifties and sixties they were sold to the public for almost nothing. They are generally called Albin in Sweden because the engine was produced by a company named so, the rest of the bike is made by Monark and all are considered to be from 1942 even though they were made into the early fifties.
Last summer I bought a job lot containing mostly Albin engines prepared for classic racing where they had made good results.
The Albin engine is the base from where Nisse Hedlund developed the famous moto cross engines that Bill Nilsson, Sten Lundin and Rolf Tibblin won world championships in the late fifties and early sixties.
I also got some bike parts and this thing.
