I just got thinking the other day about how many bees you have rescued and relocated since you have been in the business. I would guess it’s somewhere up in the high tens of millions, if not higher. What a gift to nature you are!
I am highly allergic to bees after being stung by over 100 bumble bees when i was young. But, i love watching you and your friends! I love how gentle you are.. I love how you explain things.. And your also hilarious! Absolutely love all of your videos!
Congrats on getting to 100K subscribers JP! It's great to see you getting more recognition, you've gotten me through some really dark nights here Scotland over the past 3 or 4 years, you're so good at presenting as well as at the job itself.
Two friends working together the banter between the two of you can be great . Glad the two of you saved this colony. The second part with the lady talking about the bees could only sort of see where the bees where , however not how many . JP and friend keep up the good work of saving and relocating bees.
I thought the same thing, since I got my first colony only about 2 months ago. But I inspected my hive yesterday and it's like she just had a neon sign on her. She was very easy to spot against a background of identical workers.
Once you know what you're looking for with your Queens it's easier to spot them than you think it would be. The problem is usually getting them in a spot where you can actually see them cuz bees are always covering her up when she's not in a hive
@@td4190 Well it’s definitely very cool. I doubt I’ll ever get near one because I’m terrified of bees, wasps, hornets-anything that stings. From many years of going barefoot when I was young and getting stung many times. 😂
Thank you JP for another awesome video!! Love all your videos. Congratulations on 100,000 subscribers. That means 100,000 happy people whenever a new video comes out!!!
What a sweet family at the end, Laughed when she said the bees where there longer than they where. The little girl is adorable. Till your next one JP! Hey Schawee!
You make me, someone with a phobia of anything with a stinger, want to handle bees. I don't know how you manage that, but (despite my fear) I do love bees and I adore your channel.
What a sweet lady at the end. I'm so glad there are people that will call JP instead of exterminators. THAT'S how you be a good example to your children.
You make it look easy but I would probably be a hot mess doing that. Always wondering which pile was mad enough to want to chase me down out of their hive. lol You all deserve the praise. Those were some very busy girls and taking good care of their queen. Have a great day
I think honey bees are just adorable when they have their little legs covered in pollen. It makes them look like they have little fuzzy legs. Good video 👍
Congratulations on 100,000 subscribers! You need to get a little giant step to stand on. They work on almost all ladders and make working on a ladder much easier on your body!
Really great video! You and Schawee do good work and videos. Nice folks at the house. I really like your interaction with your clients! The world is full of good people! Your videos capture that and it make me feel good. Thank you so much!
Thanks jp. Always good to see you fellows. Shawee is one of my favorites among you guys. I need a place to try crawfish when I’m down in Shreveport. I usually stay at the Petro truck stop. I never hit one though a few have bitten me.
Opossums are great for ticks! They will get into the trash had to use a metal trash can with a lid to keep them out of it. I had a friend that had one as a pet her name was purdy and she loved biscuits and gravy she was a great pet except she made her nest in the bottom of the couch! He let her have the couch and would not let anyone sit on it because it was hers!
Yup. Spotted the Queen bee for a millisecond before it disappeared into a mass of movement. Probably just as well my next meal isn't dependant on spotting her.
Yay, Schawee "Bee Keeper of the Swamp" Fix. Looks like Ole Eagle Eye has been on a diet. Caught em' drinking iced tea instead of vanilla shakes;);) Thanks for sharing JP.
I am glad to see you two back together on a video! I am not going to say who it was; but somebody told me JP was taking to him from New Orleans and kept complaining, I am going to have to let you go, I can't find my phone!! J/K 😬. Schawee you ought to bought JP a shake... 😁
Michelle Chatton working on the next one. I had some computer issues the last few weeks. All straightened out now, thank goodness! Thanks for your patience! ✌️👍🐝
Hi JP just a couple thing first I wanted to ask Schawee cause I heard you say he was messing with crocs was has he ever had any strange encounters or seen something out of the ordinary then I was curious I have a strange disliking of bees and the main reason is I have a allergic reaction to stings but can someone get over his fear of bees? I see you up there doing all that crazy stuff and how probable is it that a bee will fly in your mouth and with a beard don’t they get stuck in it? I love to watch you doing these bee removals and my other favorite is DirtRooster because “it’s a way of life” I just love the way he says that...I moved here to South Carolina around 6 years ago and I still ain’t used to their accents lol...thanks for the video their always fun unless I end up slapping my face because of a bee got on years...lol❤️🇺🇸👍🏼
I am allergic to bee stings as well . The best thing is to breathe slowly and stay calm . Don’t make any sudden movements or swat at them . They are incredible complex creatures absolutely fascinating to watch . 🙂.
There was a recent article in Bee Culture magazine about allergies and a point in it was that a lot of ER visits result in people thinking they're allergic to "bees" without ever learning what they're actually allergic to. This agrees with my experience where the ER totally failed to direct me to an allergist. If you think you're allergic to "stings" and you go to an allergist, s/he will do a grid test on your arm and determine what exactly you are allergic to. My allergist determined I was NOT allergic to wasps, hornets, yellow jackets, bees in general; I was ONLY allergic to honey bees. Also, don't confuse pain, swelling and itching with an allergic response. That's just a normal reaction to venom. My main allergic response was landing flat on my nose unconscious! Also, I have ongoing treatment for the allergy, and it's quite successful. Of course that depends on having decent health care.
It's good to see everyday people knowing the importance of honey bees and wanting them removed safely rather than calling an exterminator to kill them.
Great to see you again, I've got a kinda bee related question. Is Schawee his proper name or nickname,? And how did he get the name? Parents or buddies? I know kinda daft question but curious lol all the way from Scotland JP love your videos.
Nice to see ya both back together again!! I still want some honey!! I have great uses for it in my cooking videos! Let me know where I can get some please! ✌️❤️🤓👩🍳⚓
I just love watching your videos. Very relaxing. Just a quick question. Do you ever take a bite of a fresh honeycomb? I wouldn't mind seeing that from you one day.👌🐝
I have a question I’m a little new at this I have done four cut outs so far. Is it better to put as much of their resources in their box or a smaller amount and feed so they can rebuild themselves? All I have rescued turn out to have crazy comb running together and all kinds of ways. Of courses I am not near as good as you at banding it in the frames as you I use the number 33 bands but still need to work on that technique lol Could that be part of the problem. All replies are welcome.
272nd! GOOD AFTERNOON JP! Nice hive size! I don’t own a cell phone. Only a landline. I hate cell phones. They take over peoples lives. Roger in Pierre South Dakota
I would think it makes a huge difference to have two people on a job like this. Just saving all those trips up and down the ladder would be a big help in how you feel at the end of the day!
Hello, I just hit the subscribe button. I found you through 628 DirtRoster’s channel. So I thought I would come over and subscribe and watch some videos👍
Good to see Schawee again. Been missing him. (Did you treat him to a vanilla milkshake?) Those were some pretty big sections of comb. Nice looking, though.
A small percentage of colonies defy what the majority does most of the time & build completely out in the open. Because of our mild winters, open air colonies can survive several winters in the open like this. I’ve removed a few that survived 3 & 4 seasons.

Nothing better than Sunday morning Bee videos with JP & Schawee
Fun fact, here in PA we are now possum friendly cuz they are great tick eaters, dang Lyme's disease

I’m sure it takes years of experience, but I find it amazing how you can spot the queen so easily among all of the other bees!
👑 🐝
I thought the same thing, since I got my first colony only about 2 months ago. But I inspected my hive yesterday and it's like she just had a neon sign on her. She was very easy to spot against a background of identical workers.

Thanks for your videos I've gotten bees to pollinate my garden and it's made my garden really beautiful.

I love this show. And yes our honey bees are extremely important to our inviroment. Thank you for what yous do.

Was actually looking into one several months ago before I purchased a 22’ Little Giant, love the ladder btw, thanks for the reminder. 👍🐝
It’s real nice to see you two old friends yanking each others chain...
Keep it up! 👍🏼
Always love finding a JP video to watch....then toss in Shawee and ya have a bonus !
Love that woman, saving the bees because they "are good for the environment."
And thanks to you JP, doing your good work with the bees.

You amaze me with your calmness every time. I have so much experience to gain and confidence to build! Your videos help.
Good to see you two working together again. Did you forget Yappy at the resturant?
Couldn’t get Yappy away from his ramen noodles, he’s obsessed! 😄✌️🐝
That was a beast sized beehive. Fun to watch nice bees, once the queen is moved, it's over.
"I'm Jp the bee man,get in my box if you want to live"🤗awesome video man
Well done you two. Always enjoy your videos JP xx

Thanks jp. Always good to see you fellows. Shawee is one of my favorites among you guys. I need a place to try crawfish when I’m down in Shreveport. I usually stay at the Petro truck stop. I never hit one though a few have bitten me.
The best boiled crawfish is in the New Orleans area, hands down. We know how to boil seafood.

You two make me laugh so much! You remind me of my Dad and Uncle. They were good people. Good memories. Thank you!

True that, waiting for that one with 37 bees. 😉🐝
I can see you two are trouble!!!! lol Thanks for the show.

These fine bee charmers me think of the wonderful films “Grumpy old men” with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon (may they both rest in peace). 😊

I really missed Schawee! Let the bickering begin!
I dont think he's got what it takes for TH-cam. JP does

Those bees got hit with double trouble. Thanks for sharing with us.
Looked like mostly brood. Thanks for another great bee rescue video!

Wow that queen is huge. Nice catch.
Woww! JP... Finally 100k...👍
From a mountainside in western North Carolina. It’s getting cooler. Will not belong before my first pot of gumbo this year.
