It's been a long two weeks with our little grandson.. he is still on life support. we still need thoughts and mighty prayers for this little baby! We pray for his healing and that God will allow him to wake up and be with our family who loves him so much.. we know nobody loves him more then God does!

Dexter hey from Canada! As a poultry farmer in an extreme temp region, where we see 35°c in summer and -40°c in winter, every year, guaranteed. Sometimes hotter, sometimes colder. So ventilation is very very important here in coop design. Your brooder barn for your chicks seems to have adequate ventilation for your region. It appears there is a gap air can flow between the top of the walls and the ceiling. Excellent area for the release of humidity and ammonia. Those are the main reasons for ventilation. A vent placed lower to the ground would simply bring in drafts and compromise the chicks. I think folks should have a closer look at your brooder before criticizing too much. You have ventilation enough, it seems they are confusing drafts with venting.

I saw a space between the roof and wall, maybe is enough so the hot air can really come out.

dexter 16:49 brooder shouldnt have corners... make it circular, because the chicks at the corner are being suffocated. and is why most look sick jist a tip, tho i learn most from you. loving your efforts

It is advisable that you avoid sharp corners in the nursery of your newly hatched chicks.
This will help prevent mortalities resulting from chicks congregating at the corner for warmth and suffocating each other in the process.
