There is lore for why there are no stars in the galactic core, or more precisely for why there is no way to reach them, therefore they are not on the travel map.
It had to do with a precursor race which was both psionically and genetically ascended who lived there. They reached awakened empire level of power, and they attempted to breed a dragon in the black hole at the center of the galaxy and have their queen manifest her consciousness within it.
The Eldrich Horror Worm emerged and itself manifested a consciousness instantly, pretty much as the Sun and its Rays are simultaneous.
It banished the Queen to the Shroud and destroyed the travel means between worlds before it left.
That made that civilisation extremely isolationist. Given their extreme technological advancement, there is a chance for them to recover their means of teavel or develop entirely distinct ones from those the others use.
That does not mean they will let other people reach them, due to how the lore portrays their izolationistic evolution after that event.
So not putting an Awakened Empire in the stars at the center of the galaxy is not lore accurate, but nor it is putting one as the lore dictates it isolated itself.
Great concept, I am more thankful for it than not, but please mention the lore behind the sate you want to modify, otherwise you give the impression you are just messing around, you do not care about the game.
Stellaris is NOT a sandbox, it is a game with its own lore and treating it as a sandbox without mentioning the lore behind the sate you want to modify is disrespectful.
On the other hand, the modification itself is well done, thank you for it!
