- Right on cue, the 2nd trailer for DreamWorks' The Wild Robot has dropped. And with it comes a hint more of what to expect out of the studio's last giant project. And in most ways, it's look absolutely fantastic. From the soundtrack, to the artistic design, the plotline sourced from a book, and a stellar cast. There is just one, tiny complaint I have about this movie. Perhaps I was hoping for a slightly different project. But no matter! I am still incredibly hyped for this movie, and maybe there's an in-universe explanation anyway. I guess perhaps we'll have to see how the impressions of THIRD official trailer seem. But for now, here is My ONLY Concern With DreamWorks' The Wild Robot...

I think it’s going to be great as long as they stay true to the book
I'm not worried since the animals talked the book too. My only concern would be keeping it faithful enough to the source material honestly.

One of the main plot points of the books was that the robot slowly learns to speak with animals by silently observing them, a silent protagonist would be good but it would lose too much of the source material

I do wish the robot and animal voices were different though. They all sound too human, like how the robot sounds like a regular lady with a voice filter. Idk
It's hard thing to adapt a book when you must SHOW NOT TELL.

The animals talk because it happens in the book. Roz learned how to communicate with the animals on the island, so they were translated into English so the reader (or viewer, now) can understand what was happening.
I just hope that the talking isn't as abundant. Because I can tell you that there are several scenes that were ruined in movies whenever characters (animals, humans, etc...) were speaking, instead of letting the facial expressions tell what's happening.
The thing is the animals aren't magically talking, ROZ is built to adapt, so she did, and learned their language. In the book this happened over a span of several chapters.
I still can’t believe all of you thought this would’ve been a “silent movie”. Maybe if you looked more into the movie’s production, you would know. Cuz they basically tell you that the animals are gonna talk. But oh well. That’s not gonna stop me from seeing this movie, if anything, it makes me wanna see it more!
Like they literally show who's voicing at the end of the first trailer. What did they expect?

I mean can you blame us if they release an ABSOLUTELY gorgeous trailer with no voices giving it a sorta first act wall-e vibe? Also I think I'd prefer if the voice was a little more robotic and curious if you I ow what I mean.
I can tell who hasn't read the books based on the complaints about the animals talking lol. They talk in the books and it's an important part of the story. Roz, the main robot, observes and listens to the animals' sounds and "language" and starts to understand it while she is learning how to survive on the island. She then starts to be able to understand them and learns to communicate with them. The voice actors are voicing the animals that she interacts with.
It actually annoys me so much. It's not even a long book. You could probably read it in less than a day.
I mean the trailer was amazing that a actually shed a tear watching so I thought it was going to be mostly silent. However I do agree that the the complaint of voices is minor, though I think the voice of roz should sound more robotic and curious.
@@fittedurge4763 I think Roz is going to sound less robotic as the film goes on. In the book Roz's starts to speak in a less formal way later on in the story. I could be overthinking it though.

Kung Fu Panda 4 was a financial hit for DreamWorks, but that was a sequel. Hopefully The Wild Robot does well and wake up interest in the audience. DreamWorks really needs it
They were on a role but after puss in boots 2 the animation has been pretty generic with some generic movies and a sequel that haven’t done too well, but this animation in this movie looks beautiful, and this story is an interesting adaptation of artificial life kinds like wall e, so I have some hope for this film
I’m gonna see it in theaters multiple times. Read the first two books and i wanna see how they interpret it.
It won’t stop DreamWorks closing their in house operations.

@@btpati Pixar has been doing better than Disney, despite it being a sequel inside out 2 was actually a well developed sequel that felt natural since Toy Story 3, so I hope they experiment with Eliot, but I hope dreamworks surpasses Disney

I'm really excited for the film to be honest. I don't mind that there's dialogue and the people chosen to voice act is a thumbs up for me. I'll definitely check this out when it releases

My concern with this is movie is not the movie itself, after this movie releases, DreamWorks will start outsourcing more of their animated movies often than in studio because they won’t be renewing any contracts with animators to work on future projects and also they been firing their employees a couple months ago

I will say I’ve read the books this movie is based off of, and Roz, (the main character robot) does talk a decent amount.
I’m excited for this movie
I think an animated movie without talking would be beautiful. Take a look at the snowman animation from 1900’s. It’s a beautiful animation with no talking whatsoever, just nice instrumental music and it’s legitimately one of my favorite movies. I was kinda hoping this movie could do the same except with a wall-e concept or bastion from overwatch. I understand the movie is definitely heading a different direction to go with the book, but man now that I thought of it, I hope somebody makes that kind of movie.
Anyways, I’m still hyped for the movie, and I will definitely check it out. Looks beautiful to me, absolutely breathtaking!!!
DreamWorks dragons nine realms movie. Where they explore different afterlives.
The Nine Realms ended. Also, since I’ve seen more people despising that show, they’re probably gonna get infuriated when they find out there would be a movie based on it.
After Kung Fu Panda 4, my main fear is that we COULD get a cute/touching film, but the Dreamworks writers seem to have a crippling addiction to slapstick/bathos and would absolutely refuse to let any serious/emotional/deep scenes play out in favour of poorly-timed fart jokes or something.
I feel like the animals talking is something that would work better for the book than the movie.
The animals don't "magically talk" Roz LEARNS their language and start to communicate with them. Read the book dude.

Ok honestly can you please read the book before you judge the story? The wild robot learns to speak animal as the story goes on. The animals don't just "magicly" talk it's just ROZ talking to the wild animals.
Well the Wild Robot is a book. This movie plays off of and goes by the book. They can't just make a movie about a book with 35019 words in it and not make the animals and Rozz speak ( Those are the characters with by far the most lines in the book ) This because it wouldn't be like the book at all nor similar to it other than whats on screen instead of whats being said which is one of the best most genius, and most important parts of the book which is the dialogue between the characters.
The real concern is that this film is gonna bomb because of Transformers One. Thank you Paramount. (Really) 😁

I saw the trailer for this movie, and based on what I saw, it looks really good.
There are a lot of animated trailers releasing because of the annecy film festival. That’s why arcane and the wild robot trailers released so closely together

Ive read the books but i completely agree, sure the animals talk in the book but it would be a nice take on the book. Besides no one got mad when the how to train your dragon movies were very different to the books since they were great anyways.
also in the wild robot book the robot and animals all talked anyway so if you read the book you would have seen that coming
Something Interesting about the book’s finale and what this movie’s seem to be is that (spoiler warning) at the end of the film we meet 3 bulky robots that came to retrieve ROZ, the main character, and the movie seems to have a whopping five along with a mastermind character. Also we see MUCH more of the human world in this movie than the book
If it’s anything like the book it’s going to be lovely. Which so far it is like.
Reminder the robot is very advance so you cant see the speaker where its speaking but its a advance robot it can speak and also the robot is the only one thta can literally understand the animals with some robot translation of the robot

Well the book had a bunch of dialogue and the the movie is an adaptation of that book. So of course the movie will have dialogue. People have been saying that since the first trailer. Where have you been?
I read the book of this and finished it when the trailer was released. Now that I watch it with the knowledge of the book, I can definitely say it is nothing like it. The only similarities are the robot adopting a goose, the fox name Flick, and them living on an island, that's it. I'm really upset that I read the book for nothing.
Yeah? The two minute trailer showed you that the entire movie is different from the book? Cause just from footage we’ve got, they’ve shown scenes from the Winter flight montage, the whole ending bot sequence, the snow huts. Looks like most of the book I remember reading

All the trailers are dropping because the Annecy Animation festival has been going on for the last week and most of them (including the wild robot) featured to some level at the festival. if not as part of some specific event then at the very least to be generate buzz at the festival's social meet and greets among studios.
as an irony based on your feedback of what you wanted from Wild Robot, there is actually a feature length 3d animated movie at Annecy that is entirely without dialogue following animals. It's called Flow, it's an indie european co-production from Latvian director Gints Zilbalodis. There's no trailer for it yet but you can find a small clip of it on youtube. I would recommend it.

Might be dreamworld first Oscar since curse of the ware rabbit kind of fitting since this is Likely there last in house animated film and a triumphant one seeing as it’s against two Disney movies that look really good this year
This is what I admired about stray.(the cat game from b12 studios I'm 2022) it's centered around a cat falling into a forgotten city with only companion robots as its inhabitants. But what I liked was the fact that they didn't make the cat talk, it tries to go to more Sci-fi feel and doesn't make the animals talk. It was announced last year in September a movie adaptation was in production,(which I'm eagerly waiting for any updates on) but I'm hoping they don't make the cat talk, but continue using b12 as our communication.
From the first trailer i didn't see any plot just a pretty picture. But now there's definitely a plot, a reason why it's even exist and that's why i like it now even more

If it’s done right, I don’t mind the animals or the robot talking. I just wish there was some sort of filter on her voice to make her sound less like a human woman, and more like a robot.

I was too disappointed with how I thought this was going to be a silent film, but im still going to check it out before I've experienced trailers that were better than the movies they were selling and I've seen mediocre trailers to great movies. Still, I'm glad I saw the second trailer, and it won't sway me from seeing it in theaters.
