Just saw the new cinematic trailer for the next MK game. its funny how they decided to call it MK1 instead of MK12 but I'm probably still gonna call it 12 for posterity's sake lol. Definitely excited and thanks so much for this timeline. Its always nice to be refreshed on MK info. Been a fan since MK SubZero days. That and MK 3/4 were my first MK games so its a big part of where my love for fighting games came from. Good times.
I dont understand where MK1 (12) is going because why would Shang Sung return like weve seen in the trailer if he was erased from existence by Fire god Liu Kang (its pretty obvious thats the canon ending)
The biggest issue with this video is the "He must Win" line. It's not that shao Kahn needs to win 10 tournaments, shao Kahn needs to successfully conquer earth realm by bypassing the mortal Kombat tournament. Only then will the elder gods destroy intervene and destroy him. That's what he must Win means
Mortal Kombat 1 the reboot came about explaining essentially that the battle between Fire God Liu Kang and Shang Tsung caused a severe rip in timelines and now the universe Liu Kang created and the one SHang Tsung created now exist along each other as well as multiple other timelines where each of the characters from MK 11 defeated Kronika and took her crown. Kronika is somehow revived or rather, Shang Tsung shapeshifted into Kronika and infiltrated Fire God Liu Kang's timeline to manipulate the fate of the Shang Tsung and Quan Chi from Fire God Lui Kang's timeline into working together to destroy Fire God Lui Kang's timeline to make it easier to merge his (Shang Tsung's) timeline into Fire God Liu Kang's own and make it one. Fire God Liu Kang made Geras the keeper and protector of the hourglass and So Geras warned him that someone was messing with Shang Tsung's and Quan Chi's fate but the hourglass would not reveal the identity of who this person was until very late. Fire God Liu Kang finds out eventually via Shang Tsung (the one with his own alternate timeline) that he was the mastermind behind the whole ordeal and that he manipulated the Shang Tsung and Quan Chi from Fire God Liu Kang's timeline and that they were just pawns for his grand design. This forces Quan Chi and Shan Tsung (from Fire God Liu Kang's timeline) to unfortunately team up to defeat Shang Tsung from his timeline. This is so fkn confusing with so many turns but if you read this far stay with me babe. So they fight, evil Sindel from Shang Tsung's timeline fights and defeats most of the people from Fire God Liu Kang's timeline and literally repeats a variation of the line she did from MK 9 (which was infuriating and a cheap cop out cause Sindel is MY GIRL FR FR) "Come forward if you dare, I will finish what Shang Tsung could not".......Like really NRS??! Y'all couldn't think of any other creative line?!? Anyway, Sindel gets defeated by Fire God Liu Kang's Sindel. FG Liu Kang and everyone retreats and Geras tells FG Liu Kang that he stored some serious power away for FG Liu Kang centuries ago that can help FG Liu Knag to scan the universe for other timelines, in case he needed to use it. But if he does use it, FG Liu Kang cannot go back to the timeline that he created. and so Liu Kang used the power to gather everyone from all the other timelines to help defeat Shang Tsung from his timeline and Shang Tsung's timeline comes crashing down. I hope that wasnt too confusing...its a lot to digest and I hope I explained it correctly
I'm gonna need the gang to get together and hold an intervention for Raiden. His addiction to the rage has caused too much trouble lol But seriously Great video and even better telling of the timeline. Even someone like myself (a self proclaimed MK junkie since I was a toddler) still find somethings in the story to be confusing at times. This was a very well done presentation on everything especially the filling in on some of the spinoffs I never played (special forces & shaolin monks). Great Job Leaderboard!
As someone who has played Mortal Kombat since i could hold a controller, even i learned some things from this video. Ed Boon and gang really did an amazing job expanding on the story over the years. And now it's for another reboot.
Reading through these comments. There is not a single mentioning of Reptile. I'll always stay loyal to the first secret, and personally the coolest, character in the MK series. It'd be awesome if he reappeared in the new game as a part of the new timeline. Maybe he'll finally be able to revive his lost race. Just give him a win. Please.
Shang Tsung was the original Mortal Kombat champion when Edenia was defeated until the great Kung Lao defeated him in the tournament for the Earth. Then, he reappeared the next MK, older and bringing Goro with him. Goro defeated the great Kung Lao and became the new champion, enabling Shang Tsung to seize the tournament, stripping control of Shaolin monks. There's when Goro starts his winning streak before the first MK.
Loved this video, even if it scrambled my brain a bit with all the information! I played MK11 but that was back when it first came out mostly, so it's good to have a refresher (and a summary of Aftermath since I never played it) with the impending announcement of the next installment. Speaking of the next game, the characters I'd loved to see make returns from the older games would undoubtedly be Havik, and Hotaru to go with him since they're polar opposites! Above even them though, I'd absolutely love to see the return of Onaga; we've had Shinnok and Shao Kahn make their returns, I think it's high time to let the one true King rule once again ;]
Since the new Mortal Kombat game is on its way and it'll be my first experience with the series, this video was great for helping me get up to speed with what's going on. I had no idea the story for Mortal Kombat was so involved.
Hope you enjoy it! I just re-started with MK11 after not playing any of em since the 90s, I'd say the story is actually pretty fun to get into, definitely check it out someday if you find it on a sale, it's very cinematic and looks great, even if has a lot of plot holes.
Just picked up mk11 ultimate edition and i havent played since mk shaolin munks. I am freakin loving it. And the combos and all that are coming back to me pretty quick. Story mode is awesome too.
I just recently started playing X. The last one I ever played was 4. Talk about rusty! 😅 It’s all coming back to me now, though. Just took a bit. I, too, am loving this game. It is absolutely amazing.
I wish Netherealm would explore the idea that Mortal Kombat occurs every 50 years. The tournament in the first game occurred in 1992, which means Earthrealm had a tournament in 1942, during World War 2. I want to see THAT tournament. There's also a ton of potential for tournaments in eras like the Old West, Victorian England, and the Golden Age of Piracy.
Damn I must be the only person on this planet that has owned every MK game and never played campaign mode ! This video has caught me up to speed and also made me wish I did the story mode !!😢
Great vid, love the history of MK.. Thank you.🙏😉 Just this one line i thought was a bit odd : 21:17 "Everything from the previous games doesn't really exist anymore" But...most of it still exists as it did in the first tournament as you mentioned immediately afterward, its just rebooted , so a few changes .
What if MK1 is both MK11 endings merging into one timeline and we see a conflict between the forces of powered up Shang Tsung and Fire God Liu Kang. With all the time-manipulation going on, it opens the door for potential splits and merges even more.
That would actually be cool but i dont think shang tsung is the actual villain. Mainly because i think they won't be revealing the villain in the first trailer
@@Sush._. I don't think they did. I personally see this Shang Tsung as a misdirection, because the alternate timeline Shang Tsung is a god just like Liu Kang. We could just be seeing Liu Kang's timeline version of Shang. I mean, unless they just pull another Kronika type out their ass, nothing is on the same scale of power as Fire God now.
Little did we know, instead of Mortal Kombat 12, it is Mortal Kombat 1, as it it not a timelime that started midway through, it is a timeline which has been FULLY remade. So starting back from 1 make sense.
We might get Shang’s ending since they did it to start decption and we have been asking for a dark ending for a while. For all we know at the start of May Ed could drop a hint as to what the trialer for 12 will be like meaning watch the background to tell who won aftermath I just can’t wait much longer I want to know.
They've just done the Time travel trope in Mk11 so they're likely to push that forward and do what everyone and the mum is doing nowadays and go Multiversal. Not some crazy Multiverse mind you but enough so that we get to see the Liu Kang led universe facing off against Shang Tsung's one.
That’s exactly what I said, I noticed how when it comes to story endings like deadly alliance and Armageddon, they always do some sort of twist at the end. Deadly Alliance, it turned out Raiden lost and Armageddon it turned out that Taven died and Shao Kahn defeated Blaze.
this video gives raiden waaaay more credit than he deserves. he sends the worst possible message to himself back through time " he must win" but he only means shao kahn at the end of the mk3 events, he has no chill dealing with anyone, and always somehow does the worsts possible thing at every turn. the MK 9 through 11 are raidens screw ups and blunders through the whole mk story and everything bad that happens, happens because of him.
This is so convoluted 😂 After finishing the MK1 Story line (my second MK since the first in the 90's), SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED. MK 1 makes everything both simple and complicated. And Im here for the whole chaotic ride.
tbh I like the new origin in MK1 a bit more, story feels like it will gel together much smoother in future games given the current plot....Mileena being a normal sister to Kitana who gets a decease just makes more sense, along with Scorpion and Sub-Zero being brothers who have different morals
Really enjoyed this, that’s for creating this video! Although I had it rewind so many times because the story got confusing. I think I prefer the original timeline. Less confusing and Sindel wasn’t a villain. Not sure why they made her evil in the new timeline.
Those are the formal rules. But there's nothing specific that states two sides can't challenge each other into a single tournament for a high prize, since that still satisfies the furies (the forces responsible for the Realms' stability). After "MK 3", the Tournament was corrupted and people just stopped caring about the main rule of the 50 years.
Mortal Kombat 1 was really the last official MK Tourney, as MK2 was a special case where Shang/Raiden appealed to the Elder Gods for a "Final" tournament which would break / end the generational cycle of tournaments between Outworld and Earthrealm. But even though Outworld lost that tourney (thus giving up their claim to Earthrealm forever) Shao Kahn proved that the EG's rules were only formalities, as he was still able to invaded Earthrealm. The Elder Gods have no rules about invading realms, only merging them, and that is why they didn't intervene during the MK3 invasion (or any other interdimensional wars for that matter) until after Kahn began merging realms. All that said, the MK2 tournament, both the OG version and the reboot version, were the last official MK tournaments, as all other games/tournaments after them were just wars pretty much. There were a few side tournaments such as the one Li Mei won in MK Deadly Alliance, but all other combat was just that...Kombat.
@@AsmodeusMKO since we're speaking of rules, maybe there's something you could help me with. I need advice on Hotaru and Reptile: -I have Hotaru weasel his way into allying with Earthrealm and plot to have Reptile (now rejoined with his race as in his "MK X" ending, and enhanced with fighting habilities passed down to him by Bo Rai Cho, the Shi Rai Ryu and potentially enhanced by the Jinsei) to take over Outworld and later use the Saureans to take over Earthrealm without the need of "Mortal Kombat" (since he doesn't plan to merge the Realms), since the Saurean society agrees with many of the Order Realm's beliefs, building a genuine alliance with them. However, I heard this kind of manipulation might be more in lign with chaos. Do you agree ? I mean, doesn't an orderly dictadorship also require some form of deception and manipulation ? It's not like Hotaru is lying when he says he wants to restablish order to both realms (Hotaru didn't like that Kotal allowed Shinnok to run free and he believes Raiden will not arm the Saureans during an invasion since they're still Earthrealmers, and might even accept them as the dominant species once more as an attempt of crushing opposing factions). What do you think ?
@@JabamiLain I've read through everything you've got here, and I've been thinking it over. I apologize in advance for my wall of text, but I think I would agree that any type of manipulation like that would fall on the side of chaos. Thinking about the scenario you put forth, the only way Hotaru would get involved is if Earthrealm was on the verge of going chaotic, and the only way is see that happening is if something was going on with Raiden. Normal Raiden would definitely fight against chaos, and really so would dark Raiden...he'd just eradicate any opposition. In fact, I think I would say Hotaru would likely ally with dark Raiden in his crusade to protect Earthrealm from outside forces, just as he did with Onaga. All that being said, I'm sure there are many scenarios where Hotaru would help the saurians, but I think they would have to give up something big, like control of a territory, or they would have to follow some semblance of basic Seido law. Now that I think about it, there may be some overlap in the way their societies work seeing as the saurians are ruled by a matriarch. Do they run like a dictatorship? Or rather some type of communist hive like bees? Idk. But regardless of how they work, as long as they are orderly, Hotaru would be happy. So yeah, bottom line is if you want Hotaru to side with the Saurians in some realm wide war, they have to be fighting against something that's super chaotic, or for something that's super orderly.
@@AsmodeusMKO they see Earthrealm as chaotic because of how its main factions are divided after Raiden's fall and declaring of Mortal Kombat against Outworld, and they see Outworld as chaotic as well, because Kotal not only allowed Shinnok to thrive, he kept attacking Earthrealm after Shinnok's defeat and before the tournament, and he now (Reptile informed them of this last part) plans to use Tanya and the Kollector (the most treacherous of warriors) in the Tournament, as he's afraid of Earthrealm trying to find some sort of loophole in the tournament's rules. Hotaru's plan is to use the Saureans to rule both Outworld and Earthrealm. In return for this position of power however, the Saureans (willingly I might add) had to give up their queen egg and three of the egg's nanies to Seido. Regarding the manipulation part, he's actually on Raiden's side, as the now mad thunder god believes the Saureans being the dominant species over humans once again would make it easier for him to wipe out opposition and keep allies who shared his vision on his side. By the way, if manipulation falls to the chaotic spectrum, then I have an idea. What if the Saureans were the ones to suggest this strategy (as they're the ones who wish their home back the most) offering the egg in return for this kind of freedom in maneuver ? I mean, I wrote in my fanfic Hotaru has the habit of forming allies in the Realms he plans to conquer in order to minimize the bloodshed later during invasions/Mortal Kombats but I never said he was the one who tried to find loopholes in the rules and that he was the only manipulative guy.
Thank you for making me understand it. After so many years of playing mortal kombat I finally understand what the story is all about. I think mortal kombat should be rated as one of the best game with a good story mode ❤🎉 shout out to the midway and nether realm studios you guys did a great job 👏
A bit too quick for me to catch the first time but i love it. My first game was Deception. Then in between that and mk9, or mk 2011, ive only played a small peice of mk vs dc. Then after 2011, i now have MKX, only played mk11 once, not the story. Now they got MK1. Cant wait tbh. But also, not a SUPERfan so probably could wait.
I feel like the details between Scorpion and Sub-Zero's part in MK1 were inaccurate. Sub-Zero is believed to have lead the Lin Kuei in an attack on Hanzo's home and people, with Bi Han himself killing Hanzo's wife and son before killing Hanzo. Quan-Chi turns him into Scorpion, a vengeful spectre, and Scorpion kills Bi Han during the tournament that takes place in MK1.
Holy crap, I don't think I'd ever seen those live-action scenes from MK Sub-Zero before! Had to rewind the video and rewatch that part -- I was laughing too hard to pay attention the first time through.
That sub-zero mythologies game was cool and had a good idea but the live action scenes were hilarious lol and the extras shows the bloopers and outtakes lol
recently the reveal trailer of Mortal Kombat 1 A.K.A Mortal Kombat 12 showed that Liu Kang defeated Shang Tsung. and I find the finale to the MK9-MK11 trilogy being Liu Kang Vs. Shang Tsung ironic since it brought things full circle from the OG saga of games to now since the major events began with Liu Kang Vs. Shang Tsung and the 1st reboot ended with a long awaited rematch.
I see what you did when you started talking about Mortal Kombat 2. Naming the Kombatants in the order they are announced in the Mortal Kombat theme song 😏
Man I love MK ever since I played Shaolin Monks and have been following the lore but I cannot for the life of me ever get behind the retcons and rewrites for some of the characters and events in the game. Also hang on! Is it just me or the comic stories not mentioned? If I recall correctly it had a part to play in the whole story of the NRS timeline pre-MK1. Like about the Kamidogu now being daggers instead of relic looking objects back in Deception and explaining how Sub-Zero was "un-cyborged" in X.

@@DarchrowTheEnigmau forgot to mention the original timeline. In this timeline, Kung Lao got killed in MK3 by Shao Kahn, then magically come back with Johnny Cage after Shao Kahn has been “killed” by Liu Kang.
And Liu Kang got killed too in MK Deadly Alliance by Tsung and Quan Chi. Then he got “revive” by Raiden Dark magic, however, it only revived his body, not his soul. Thanks for Ermac, who steals Liu Kang soul from Shang Tsung, Liu Kang soul got back and have a battle with his zombie body then win, claiming his body back (although his body was already rotting)

I like how if the Liu Kang ending becomes canon for MK12, the story essentially becomes full circle with the Great Kung Lao being trained to become the Earthrealm champion who defeats Shang Tsung in the first place 500 years before the events of MK1

Things to know to avoid the world's destruction
1. The elder gods are useless
2. Don't touch Shinnok's amulet
After watching this video, I now realize that, despite the Elder Gods creating the tournament to keep the realms in check and avoid ressurecting the Great One, they allow outworld to break the rules a LOT
I was about to say, if they're following the 50 year rule, then Liu Kang would be old and dead by mk3
@@Replete_Mummy99the mk 2 tournament was a special case. Win and they win forever without having to defend from outworld. Lose and they get conquered on the spot. They could have turned it down but decided to agree. The standard tournament rules are set to where you cant decline the invite at all if 50 years has passed. Mk3 there was no tournament just the invasion.

Good times.
that trailer brought me to this, i haven’t played much of the story lately just messing around w homies and needed a good catch up
If you think about it, it makes sense to call it MK1 since the timeline is reset
Well they called it MK 1 for a reason 😂
I dont understand where MK1 (12) is going because why would Shang Sung return like weve seen in the trailer if he was erased from existence by Fire god Liu Kang (its pretty obvious thats the canon ending)
@@pepelarrza3877 idk, but we'll see. They should have a good reason.
Man what a time coming home from school playing MK Deception and Shaolin monks.
Wow I am old, I was coming home from school and playing MK1 🤣
The biggest issue with this video is the "He must Win" line. It's not that shao Kahn needs to win 10 tournaments, shao Kahn needs to successfully conquer earth realm by bypassing the mortal Kombat tournament. Only then will the elder gods destroy intervene and destroy him. That's what he must Win means
Really had my head scratching, thx for explaining
I didn’t quite know what he meant by that either. Thanks.
Krocnika
Please.
He’s our very first Hidden Character ever. Respect!
Same with Ermac
damn bro I guess you're up for a BIG treat
Shang Tsung was the original Mortal Kombat champion when Edenia was defeated until the great Kung Lao defeated him in the tournament for the Earth. Then, he reappeared the next MK, older and bringing Goro with him. Goro defeated the great Kung Lao and became the new champion, enabling Shang Tsung to seize the tournament, stripping control of Shaolin monks. There's when Goro starts his winning streak before the first MK.
It's great to see this again! I have been playing every single games except spin-offs.
Mate that was a great timeline of MK. Seriously the best IP out there. Can’t wait for more content through the games and movies 😊
Beautiful video. Thank you for this explanation. I'm playing MK1 but did not know the prior stuff. Turns out it was A LOT deeper than I thought
They could honestly make this into a series.
Dude un ironically GO PLAY at least 4 to deception- deceptions campaign is amazing
I remember playing deadly alliance, deception and shaolin monks. Crazy my younger self didnt realize the storyline, just enjoyed fighting games lol
Damn I must be the only person on this planet that has owned every MK game and never played campaign mode ! This video has caught me up to speed and also made me wish I did the story mode !!😢

How
and why
I think it's safe to say the ending where Fire God Liu Kang wins is cannon since he's on the cover of Mortal Kombat 1.
BEST RECAP VIDEO FOR MORTAL KOMAT
We need an updated version of this. After the release of MK1, it's safe to assume the Liu Kang ending in the Aftermath is canonical.
Great vid, love the history of MK..
Thank you.🙏😉
Just this one line i thought was a bit odd :
21:17 "Everything from the previous games doesn't really exist anymore"
But...most of it still exists as it did in the first tournament as you mentioned immediately afterward, its just rebooted , so a few changes .
Who’s here after Mortal Kombat 1
Me
Omg the answer to which of the 2 endings is canan in mk11 is awesome
Yeah you were right man

Fun Fact: The word Shujinko means “main character” in Japanese.
Little did we know, instead of Mortal Kombat 12, it is Mortal Kombat 1, as it it not a timelime that started midway through, it is a timeline which has been FULLY remade. So starting back from 1 make sense.
Here as soon as the Mortal Kombat 1 trailer dropped for a story recap.
You should name the title "The Komplete Timeline of Mortal Kombat".
With the mk12/mk1 trailer now out, its proven that the canon ending is liu kang defeating shang tsung
Shaolin monks is one of the most unique entries🙌🏾
this video gives raiden waaaay more credit than he deserves. he sends the worst possible message to himself back through time " he must win" but he only means shao kahn at the end of the mk3 events, he has no chill dealing with anyone, and always somehow does the worsts possible thing at every turn. the MK 9 through 11 are raidens screw ups and blunders through the whole mk story and everything bad that happens, happens because of him.
Yes I love it so much more
This comment aged horrible
Who else is here after they announced mk1 instead of mk12
well now its confirmed that Liu Kang actually won the fight.
Really enjoyed this, that’s for creating this video! Although I had it rewind so many times because the story got confusing. I think I prefer the original timeline. Less confusing and Sindel wasn’t a villain. Not sure why they made her evil in the new timeline.
shoutout man growing i knew the story was deep because i just randomly started from deadly alliance
Wow this explains a lot thanks
Mortal Kombat 1:allow me to introduce myself
It's more interesting now
I’m confused on if the tournaments are suppose to be every 50 years how are they having the tournaments back to back without having to wait?
I need advice on Hotaru and Reptile:
-I have Hotaru weasel his way into allying with Earthrealm and plot to have Reptile (now rejoined with his race as in his "MK X" ending, and enhanced with fighting habilities passed down to him by Bo Rai Cho, the Shi Rai Ryu and potentially enhanced by the Jinsei) to take over Outworld and later use the Saureans to take over Earthrealm without the need of "Mortal Kombat" (since he doesn't plan to merge the Realms), since the Saurean society agrees with many of the Order Realm's beliefs, building a genuine alliance with them.
After seeing the new MK trailer it seems the Liu Kang ending is cannon.
I’ve watched this way too many times in preparation for mortal Kombat 1.
You should’ve made the title “The Komplete Mortal Kombat Timeline”
Haha It's not too late to make the fix @The Leaderboard !
Thank you for making me understand it. After so many years of playing mortal kombat I finally understand what the story is all about. I think mortal kombat should be rated as one of the best game with a good story mode ❤🎉 shout out to the midway and nether realm studios you guys did a great job 👏
Now with MK one out, the conclusion of this video is funny to me, as not just both endings are canon, but all the other ones as well xD
The movies failed us but this would be an amazing TV show Series
MK1 was announced after this and the canon ending was Liu Kang's
A bit too quick for me to catch the first time but i love it. My first game was Deception. Then in between that and mk9, or mk 2011, ive only played a small peice of mk vs dc. Then after 2011, i now have MKX, only played mk11 once, not the story. Now they got MK1. Cant wait tbh. But also, not a SUPERfan so probably could wait.
Something about his voice makes these videos great but it’s nice to know the new world Liu Kang made has endless possibilities for the story
Say what you will, but this is the definition of "Make it up as you go"
I love that both endings to mk11 are Canon
I feel like the details between Scorpion and Sub-Zero's part in MK1 were inaccurate. Sub-Zero is believed to have lead the Lin Kuei in an attack on Hanzo's home and people, with Bi Han himself killing Hanzo's wife and son before killing Hanzo. Quan-Chi turns him into Scorpion, a vengeful spectre, and Scorpion kills Bi Han during the tournament that takes place in MK1.
I was playing Ultimate Mortal Kombat when I found this video (not a favorite, but definitely a guilty pleasure) 👊
Now that the trailer has been released, we know the canon ending now
Awesome. Cool storyline. Cant wait for MK 1 to launch. Well no MK12 then since there's a reset from God Liu Kang
But atleast we know which 1 was Cannon tho 😅 since we see Liu Kang as the God
Best recap I’ve seen, 😊
Can’t wait for you to review the mk1 news, Liu kang definitely won
I loveeeee these type of videossss
Holy crap, I don't think I'd ever seen those live-action scenes from MK Sub-Zero before! Had to rewind the video and rewatch that part -- I was laughing too hard to pay attention the first time through.
That sub-zero mythologies game was cool and had a good idea but the live action scenes were hilarious lol and the extras shows the bloopers and outtakes lol
“We’re expecting mortal Kombat 12 to tell us how this story continues!”
Netherrealm: And welcome to a new start in mortal Kombat 1 😂
It’s the guy from the amagi!!
I think it's safe to say from the mk1 trailers that liu kang's aftermath ending is canon lol
recently the reveal trailer of Mortal Kombat 1 A.K.A Mortal Kombat 12 showed that Liu Kang defeated Shang Tsung. and I find the finale to the MK9-MK11 trilogy being Liu Kang Vs. Shang Tsung ironic since it brought things full circle from the OG saga of games to now since the major events began with Liu Kang Vs. Shang Tsung and the 1st reboot ended with a long awaited rematch.
" enter mortal kombat armageddon "
that game was my introduction to mk and is still my fav til this day 😭
I didnt understand the whole story but I like how complicated it is.
CAN'T WAIT FOR MORTAL KOMBAT 12!
Great work with many questions cleared up
We really need a Shaolin monks remake

Thanks for updating the title on this video
The characters look so good now! I do miss the almost 90's simple look to them tho. Sonya looks awesome in the later games
Since MK reboot is coming out. We can assume that Liu Kang's win over Shang Tsung is canon and next to the timeline.
It’s good to hear Kegan again after he left “top 5 scary” nd “top 10 central dark”
I see what you did when you started talking about Mortal Kombat 2. Naming the Kombatants in the order they are announced in the Mortal Kombat theme song 😏
I kinda miss Armageddon. There were some features in that game I liked that were never reintroduce
I haven’t played a MK since Armageddon and just got MK1 so I needed this lol. I didn’t even know Armageddon was a spin-off
this video needs to be in a history class not just for video games
This is good mortal Kombat storyline
Man I love MK ever since I played Shaolin Monks and have been following the lore but I cannot for the life of me ever get behind the retcons and rewrites for some of the characters and events in the game.
Also hang on!
Is it just me or the comic stories not mentioned? If I recall correctly it had a part to play in the whole story of the NRS timeline pre-MK1. Like about the Kamidogu now being daggers instead of relic looking objects back in Deception and explaining how Sub-Zero was "un-cyborged" in X.
Great in depth video on the timeline, only negative to the video is the way you pronounce Sonya, it's not Saw-nya Blade it's So-nya Blade
I don't even fw mortal kombat, but the story is immaculate. Looking forward to playing the first game.
Mortal kombat armageddon 2 finna go crazy
