- In this video, we take a deep dive into the "Willy's Cholcate Experience" event that happened in Glasgow in late February. We look into Billy Coull, the man behind the event who has a shady history of running scams

I was just about to….
Also it's pronounced glas-go, not glas-gow
@@tumbles8350Eh, aluminum, al-yoo-minium 🤷♂️
Also, _three_ actors played Willy. One of them just hasn't been discussing the matter publicly.

The actors are real chads for not ditching the event but trying to make the best out of it for the kids, despite being aware of the disappointment around them.
Yeah, respect. I would have walked
@@RichardKohberger I hope the media attention will at least give them some more respectable acting gigs.
The other thing Im glad about is, none of them were grumpy people.
I feel really bad for the girl. I watched interviews and she really didn't deserve the hate.
Nah. If none of the "talent" would have been there, the families wouldn't have stuck around to have their entire day ruined. Now, there's a case, weak as it may be, that they actually took part in the festivities and shouldn't get a refund.
@@N0rlightare you talking about the Oompa Loompa girl? Why was anyone hating on her? She looked like she was trying her best despite being on the verge of tears.
love it how the unknown holds a mirror so the kids could see their fear induced tears its like the wonka spinal tap 😂
Nothing scarier than their own reflection…
It turns out the real monsters were us.
@princesspikachu3915 I think the statistics of kids in Scotland needing therapy has just increased by a large percentage
Saw the video where the unknown is unmasked and turns out it was pretty young lady but the hair is not a wig, it’s the real hair 😊

Everyone's talking about the cartchy tuns, but no one's talking about the sweet teats.
Don't forget the insane camel toe on the giant teddy bear.
They don’t want to set off the censors.
What about the catgacating and exarserdray lollipops?
Cartchy tuns is stuck in my brain 😰
As someone who is from the United States, I learned from my professor who one time took students abroad for a program in Scotland said that "Get Yourself Off Now" or "Knock You Up" over there means "To get up" or "Wake you up". She was resting over a friend's place while abroad and her friend's husband woke her up. She wanted to sleep longer, which then lend him to say "Do you want me to knock you up soon?" As someone from the states where both those aforementioned sayings refer to promiscuous acts, you can imagine the confusion, bewilderment, and embarrassment between both of them.
The ‘knock you up’ has an even more literal meaning - “knock on your door / come over”. Kind of like “Ring me up” means “give me a (phone) call”.
Thank you for knocking me up with this knowledge!
According to another video I saw Mr Coull is apparently known among Glaswegians to be scammer
And now he's world-wide known lol
Well, he may be a scammer, but his effery DID give us The Unknown. There’s that.
That checks if the whole Willy Wonka debacle hadn’t gotten so much negative attention, I bet Billy Coull wouldn’t have refunded anyone. He probably would have made some sort of excuse as to not refund them
Generative AI keeps outing itself as completely useless for anyone but scammers.
I kind of wonder if Eddy from Ed Edd and Eddy changed his name as an adult to Billy Coull and kept scamming the neighborhood for jawbreaker money.
I compare this more to when Mr. Krabsmade “Krabby Land” and Krabby the clown.
I can just see the neighborhood kids beating him up for one lousy jelly bean.
I feel like the Eds would actually put way more effort into a recreation of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory than this. Remember when they made that cardboard city?
This comment is gold
Even eddy wouldn't sink this low
I apologize if I come off as rude here but as a Scottish person myself, I feel that I must inform you of this. It's pronounced Glas-Go not Glasg-Ow
Edit: also, bird is slang for woman in Scotland
nah, you've been the least rude person to point it out lol. I guess my interpretation was that scotts pronounced it glas-go because of the way w's are pronounced with a scottish accent, so me pronouncing it that way would sound like I was putting on a scottish accent. Like when a white person puts on an accent to exactly pronounce "Carne asada" like a mexico native when they're ordering at a mexican restaurant, which is cringe. So I didn't try to do That. Sounds like Glas-go is the correct pronunciation even for an american accent, so I'll go with that from now on 👍
RE: The bird thing- I did know that, but I still don't get the innuendo.
@RichardKohberger I mean its just the correct pronunciation, no one would've said you were cringe or putting on an accent for pronouncing it correctly, unless you tried sounding like the highlander doing so. This is such a bizarre concern especially since both Scots and Americans speak English
@@RichardKohberger. He’s saying 2 things. 1) “These jelly beans were spicy & tasty for the birds - the flying type. 2). These jelly beans were spicy aphrodisiacs for the chicks - if you don’t understand my innuendo - (because using “birds” for girls/women is outdated) go ask your parents.” So, inappropriate for the kids, but hoping to get a laugh from the parents.
@@Smerugyaa0940we basically speak the same language given some different nouns, z's instead of s', and for some reason we decided to pronounce aluminium in two different ways but that's pretty much it; so I can't see why anyone would have an issue with you saying Glaz-go in your normal voice. I'm English and as much as the Scots gave me a lot of "banter" when I lived there never a problem saying any Scottish noun in my accent, its not the same as pronouncing syllables wrong/right. I'll admit I find it extremely hard to make the right sounds required to speak Welsh I'm terrible at it, sorry Welsh friends.
Only dumb people expect from foreigners to pronounce names the same way locals do
Can you spell Egypt in Arabic like Egyptian do ?
Can you spell Morocco in Arabic?
Dude thought he could let AI do all his work for him and make money off it, and he’s done multiple similar scams. He’s getting what he deserves
"Only march and so many of you have already picked out your Halloween costumes."
Yeah, this is gonna be a good vid.
You know what happens when the materials you need don't arrive for a production people paid money for?
YOU EITHER CANCEL IT OR YOU RESCHEDULE!
Basically paying 40$ to visit the backrooms

The sad Oompa Loompa is to this as the picture of the cheese sandwich is to Fyre Fest.
7:10 I think this is a play-on of the birds-and-the-bees phrase, hence the question for the parents part.
I also thought maybe on a related note “attract birds” is supposed to mean “attract women” lol but who knows
yeah "birds" means "hot women" much more commonly here (uk)
If you have coin, Oompa Loompa has Skoomah
The fuck does that mean?
@@lambiegabby4055 due to the image of the Oompa Loompa standing next to a chemistry set reminded me of the Skooma Bubblers in Elder Scrolls Online.
Hi Richard! I think the term that applies here is Dunning-Kruger Effect. Where someone believes that they are more knowledgeable and/or talented than what they really are.
7:11 “Birds” is old UK slang for girls / “chicks”. So it’s a totally inappropriate double meaning for children.
Looks like my daughter's elementary school decorated that place on their low budget extravaganza!!!
Bird is a term for a woman in the uk. So basically the "hot and spicy" jellybean is essentially some sort of love potion.
"Looks like the guests have to rely on..... PURE IMAGINATION!" I died 😂
Cartchy Tuns = Catchy Tunes.
My god, you've cracked it.

DUUHHHH!
@@shmackydoodRon Hey amigo, why don't you DUUHHH the guy in the video? He's the one who doesn't seem to know what it is.

This was the most detailed and in-depth video I’ve seen on this topic, and I hope your video gets even more views because you deserve it! Subscribed!
A proper scam would include an exit strategy for the scammer. :) One shoudn't diagnose strangers online, but there is a pattern here that correlates with manic episodes.
I think most grifters are on a spectrum. They don't necessarily set out to full-on-scam but rather just make a lot of quick, easy money by any means necessary. If their shoddy business is regarded just as a poor service or criminally misleading is to them a lesser concern for later on based on public backlash.
The fact that he gave back a few refunds, doesn't mean he didn't fully intend to create a cheap event with next to no work invested on his part it in order to make bank out of gullible parents. He probably crunched some numbers based on the viral outcome of the event and just saw bigger problems coming his way if he didn't give the refunds.
He otherwise has all of the symptoms.
I think this organiser has a learning disability/ an intellectual disability. In all seriousness.. he has problems with speaking as well as understanding his actions on a deeper level
I think people got lucky and caught the scammer here, otherwise I reckon he'd jump off into the sunset with all the cash he could without paying or refunding anyone at all
The fact that he showed up to the event really makes it looks like he really is just that oblivious to the whole thing. He must have thought he "nailed" the event or something.
His exit strat was he had bouncers in the event for pissed customers and his "no-refund" policy. Did not expect the cops though.
I really enjoyed your video. I’ve been fascinated by this story ever since I first saw video footage of this event. You’ve given the best explanation that I’ve seen so far!
"Birds" is slang for women, at least that's how my British parents used the word.
In Australia I've heard "chics" used instead.
You doing ok Mr. (?) Disco?
@@dubuyajay9964 Are you doing okay? And no, not a man.
@@DiscoTimelordASD Tbh...I don't know atm. :(
7:10 Bird is British slang for a woman
Right but…that’s the innuendo? The jelly beans attract women? All jelly beans do that.
You be surprised how some seemingly innocent words can be used for innuendo’s for different cultures even with the same language. Another that comes to my mind is the word “bender”, in Britain for a long while it meant something extremely homophonic describing gay people, which was why when Avatar the last airbender was broadcast in Britain the series was renamed “Avatar the legend of Aang”, though they still used the word bender in the show itself.
@@brandonlyon730when I think of the word “bender” I think of either the futurarma character or a drug binge; I’m an american.
@@RichardKohberger You don't get it because you're not an AI. If you were, you'd be shocked to your core. I repeated the line to ChatGPT and now it won't speaking to me.
@@RichardKohbergerThe AI attempt at innuendo comedy is insinuating the hot/spicy beans are tasty for birds, and aphrodisiacs for women.
Great video! You should grow quickly:) you have a different take on the Glasgo Wonka incident than what I’ve seen other TH-camrs do so far. Good stuff.
Thanks!

Actually the best coverage of this so far I have seen. Nice one
You missed a typo on the ai text lol, it’s reads IMAGNATION lab! 😂😂🙈
lol my brain auto-corrected that one
Shes cute too, thats fucd up cause they all knew it was kinda screwed up like being on a train headed for a ravine but they ere getting a gig and apparently they didnt even get paid? Idk but its nutz. That one guy is a fraud and should be locked up.

Honestly given what we know about the event organiser, i wouldn't be surprised if he assumed the audience would also follow the script exactly as it said
Looks like Peter Parker, dressed like Sandman.
That joke was so good that it made me Gwen Stacy. 💀
It was basically the Kamp Krusty episode from the Simpsons.
I thought WWatCF was bout a chocolate factory making candy to eat--not candy to clean. How come no one brings that part up?
I agree with your conclusion that Billy Coull doesn't realize he's grifting people. He sincerely believes in the bullcrap that he's peddling. I think he has an inflated sense of self-worth, which causes him to believe that he can accomplish monumental tasks by himself.
I think you're right.
He's not some hardcore scammer - he's just a simple guy down on his luck trying to make some money by setting up events, which is unfortunately, beyond his capability.
It's all a bit sad really.
Aside from the audience direction, the stuff you picked out of the AI-generated script actually made complete sense. The Unknown wanted to repurpose the tidiness gobstopper to accomplish the opposite, if something "knock your socks off" it greatly impresses you and "bird" is slang for a woman.
That Oompa Loompa girl looks like a completely different person 😂. I never would have guessed that it was her in that picture from the even.
Willy's Fyre Festival Experience.
The “carchy tuns” are supposed to be “Catchy Tunes”… describing the live music that was apparently supposed to be there.
You sounding almost exactly like Timothée Chalamet makes your covering this even better.
“Website design?! My brother in Christ!” Made me cackle 😂
Very underrated channel!
Thanks, I appreciate it!
He's from Glasgow so the UoS is the University of Strathclyde which is a totally legit university. Whether he went or not I don't know, I doubt it!
Maybe. My theory is that he got the online "degrees" from University of Sedona and just put UoS under them on his website so people familiar with the area would assume it was from the legit University of Strathclyde
Looking at his level of literacy, the only document he's ever obtained with „Strathclyde“ on it is a Bramble pass for the Glasgow Subway... 🚇💳😉
(And on a totally different note: Why is it that almost *all* contactless transport passes in the UK are named after foodstuffs? 🦪🚇🤔)
Given his first website, the painfully orange one, I think he relies so much on AI texts because he legitimately is not capable of writing full and thought-out sentences in English.
He honestly just reminds me of Miles Bron from Glass Onion. An idiot who builds his success off of other people’s ideas that he claims as his own. Only this guy was even dumber, cause he thought it was a bright idea to build his empire off of AI generated dreck
Maybe he should work with those guys that are “making” that Dreamworld “game”
I’m glad the actors in the event are doing okay but not getting hated by the attendees they get offers from the news and getting interviewed including in national tv they explained the event was a disaster the set was unorganized and their boss was a big scammer.
The photo of the Ooompa Loompa looks like a scene from Mystery Science Theater 3000.
Allegedly, people who were gonna provide a chocolate fountain and such had all pulled out last minute which left the whole event underfunded
Hilarious and really well done. Love your videos!
Thanks!
"Hey, I had the actors, I had the props and the fake walls all set up and you could totally immerse yourself in it if you wanted to and you ain't gettin' your money back!"
My favorite dramas so far are Nijisanji and This. Man 2024 is gonna be the best controversy documentary ever
Oh goodness, this started soooo funny and end up with me feeling sad for him.... Such a pity...
you didn't know there was a roller coaster at this event
Don't feel bad for scammers. Even if he didn't set out at first to scam, he still takes responsibility for what happens when he takes peoples money.
@@MrIronJustice Doesn't feel like he was a scammer... more a deeply incompetent bloke who bit off more than he could chew. This guy seems like a failed hustler rather than an actual scammer... a scammer would have fronted it out...kept the money, blamed other people or circumstances. This guy apologises, gives back the money...losing out in the process. Its rather sad really...Crypto rug pullers and private equity firms scam waaaay harder than he does....at least this guy is funny.
@@TooManyBrackets don't confuse damage control for decency, he's only doing that because he's in the spotlight. When scammers are caught like this they _all_ try to pretend it was an honest mistake. He's happy to take people's money for AI book garbage, he has no problems scamming people. It's just, like you said, here he bit off too much.
the way Americans pronounce Glasgow will always be my favourite 🙏🙏
I'm sorry. 😭
I think the ‘innuendo’ is because beans sound like bees, which makes it the birds and the bees.
A heads up for anyone. Glasgow is pronounced "Glas-go" not "Glas-gaw"
No disrespect. Good video.
no you Brits cannot speak English properly
Why does everyone avoid mentioning the sweet teats? That's about all that could have redeemed this train wreck.
Birds is slang for women... but I didn't know AI could really do that lol
Why do i have the cutes for the sad oompa loompa? I never feel this way for someone xD
one of my favourite parts of this is all the american youtubers not understanding "attract the birds"
They didn’t grow up watching the Benny Hill show and it shows 😂
I love how you said Glasgow. As someone who’s Scottish 😂
1:44 WHAT THE HELL IS THAT COVER 😂😂😂😂
if there was really a candy named cartchy tuns i wonder what type of candy it would be...

you mispronounce aluminum and methane so its no wonder you cannot produce that city name
Tommy Wiseau should make a movie about this. 😁
The way he puts senrances together when he speaks makes me think those scripts are not AI generated

Some people in Scotland actually can speak properly but Billy Wonka isn’t doing us any favours here… 🤦♂️
Billy has a youtube channel called (Billy De Savage) btw

The innuendo bit is on you. ‘Bird’ is a way of referring to a woman. So if the beans ‘attract the birds’ they attract women
Glaz-go
I love how confused he is at the birds joke. Probably there only funny thing in the entire script.
Gene Wilder should haunt this place!
I'm scotish the 'birds' is our slang term for girlfriends
Tbh I could probably spend a few days at different tips and looking at FB market place and gotten a better twilight tunnel
nice to see rachel dratch finally working again as an oompa loompa
Any attraction made by Meow Wolf is infinitely better. Omega Mart in Vegas is pretty cool!
Explaining the "joke": bird means woman. So, in the same way that a hot guy would attract the ladies, the jellybeans are supposed to attract the birds because they are hot. Didn't say it was a good joke...
This all sounds like something Del Boy would do if he had AI in the 1980s
That British guy snoops game room did the same topic. Some how I think that video will be better just because it’s not Brit-centric
The slopes game room video is great! I borrowed an interview clip from it. I call it out in this video. I honestly don't know how he coordinated that video as quickly as he did. Hopefully with the help of a team

Scammers are always intentional, it's not a scam otherwise
Shout out to all the Glass Cower's.
You are SO FUNNY and HANDSOME! 😍😍
Apparently the organiser of the event is dyslexic so in fairness... maybe he really did think the online universities were legit. Or (and it's not an excuse), he exaggerates his accomplishments so he can look after all his kids. Like maybe he is desperate and with the cost of living crisis is really struggling, especially as someone with dyslexia. It's not uncommon for people like that who find reading and writing difficult to resort to a life of crime. That may not be the situation in his case, like it could be unintentional and he just started taking more and more desperate measures but I feel there may be more to this story...
I feel like I have to apologize every time an american youtuber mispronounces "Glasgow." I promise some of us have figured out how to talk.
