The cool thing about pokemon tcg is that you rarely rage and the game is super balanced. The amount of cheese and unfairness I've seen in yugioh made me quit that years ago. Not to mention pokemon tcg is super cheap

3 years YGO player here. Got into playing PTCG Live this month. 🖖 You are absolutely correct. The game is super balanced (ofcourse there will be meta deck but for that you can refer to Top50 of any regional or tournament which was really surprising for me to notice. 😅)
Also, I noticed 2 things good about Pokemon TCG. 1) It doesn't matter a lot whether you go 1st or 2nd. 2) You don't need a 'Best of 3'. This is really insane compared to YGO.

I started playing PTCG Live at the beginning of December this year. Have been a YGO player for last 3 years. I was fortunate enough to get to see the 0:26 rotation notice from other channels before crafting something that would be irrelevant after rotation.
Since I had a lot of Water Pokemons, I made it my starting deck. I struggled to even cross the Pikachu rank until the rank reset last night. 😅 But am able to rack up points for rewards with it. 👍
Among the items I am really worried about Escape Rope and Battle VIP Pass; and the Supporter Klara (I have 2 of each Palkia V and Palkia Vmax which I need to get through opponent's pokemons as fast as I can before they establish a stable bench). I am practicing to play with Bombirdier ex to quickly establish bench until the rotation.
It has been really refreshing and pleasant playing the game and I am looking forward to witness the "rotation" thing for the first time in my "TCG" experience.

Great video as always tablemon. I do want to point out that celebrations kyogre will be rotating so lost box won't be able to play it as well as energy recycler.

Even since the introduction of PTCGO, i never tired playing cards featured in the format up to TCGlive. Now that the post rotation will start next year, im finishing my touches on my Lost box deck that doesnt have vip passes.
I’ve been playing MtG on and off for 20+ years, but recently started playing pokemon on ptcgl and it’s been sooo refreshing. The client is generous, the metagame seems pretty varied, and decks are SO cheap in paper compared to other TCGs. Looking forward to improving more and learning the meta even better post rotation! Excellent video and editing!

My season 2 city league in Japan is on January 30th, so that should be an interesting event lol. Right after rotation and the new set comes out here. I have no idea what to play or what other ppl are going to be playing lol.

Would you consider adding a fire type attacker substituting the 4rth iono in the post-ro Charizard ex list? Its versatility lies in being able to counter grass types and thus keep Zard alive for the game. Maybe a Rad. Zard, Entei V or Delphox V (for multi-K.O.)?
I've matched against few lists with Delphox Vstar. It's quite interesting, so is Entei that can attack quickly and draw cards

As someone who has zero none knowledge of the game anyone suggest a couple of beginner decks i should play with? 😅

Post rotation, control and mill decks are losing a number of really good cards. For supporters, they are losing Sidney, Avery, Bruno, and a few others. In my opinion, the most powerful card for a mill deck, that doesn’t take prizes, is Peonia. Hisuian Heavy Ball is still available to retrieve a BASIC Pokemon. However, you need an energy, supporter, item, or evolution Pokémon, then you are going to be trapped.

So I’m new to rotation, if you have an older version of a card like switch, ultra ball, nest ball, ets can you use those version if they are the same card or do you need to buy the newest version?
You can use old ones as long as they have a new regulation print

Yes you can use any ultra ball form the past 15 years
