Just brilliant. I still have the LP containing this piece, as depicted above. I was stunned when I first heard it and it still moves me today. Thank you for posting this. Such a shame the brothers gave away performing so young.
Great !! This was one of the greatest guitar recordings of all time. Those two brothers made a difficult piece very musical. They were incredible . Once heard a recording of them sightreading a sonata by Santorsola . It was note perfect and brilliantly musical.
I. Allegro moderato II. Adagio III. Intermezzo: Allegro IV. Allegro festivo Composed 1966, dedicated to the Abreu brothers. Santorsola (1904-1994) was born in Italy, became a Brazilian citizen in 1936. A fantastic work built on tone rows of chord clusters.
Good evening, From which publisher is it possible to buy the score of Santorsola's concerto for 2 guitars and orchestra? Is the driver also purchasable? As for orchestral equipment, is it rented? Thank you for your reply. Jean Pierre
The cover clearly says Castelnuovo-Tedesco & Santosola (alphabetical order). Santosola & Castelnuovo-Tedesco would have been inappropriate because it would have given Santosola a higher status since it was not in alphabetical order.
Incredible recording of a good concerto. Santorsola is still underrated.
Terrific rendition. One of the best records with guitar ever made.
The whole concerto is played at such an unreal standard, but at 16:52 we have a moment where maths and magic meet.

Phenomenal, like all the Abreus did. Thank you.

Maserful, in fact, I would need to find a stronger word.
Santorsola was a Logosphy student and this studies had influence in his ability to link emotions with musicality.- www.logosophy.org/
