Turning a Finial with Traditional Tools

- In this video, We turn a finial using traditional tools (namely a 3/8" detail gouge and a large roughing gouge). Working on such a small scale can be a little intimidating but with the right tools and techniques also doable. 2024..so new to woodturning..I did notknow I was using traditional tools and I love using both tools used today. I agree pratice..

what is the proportions method you used?
What speed is that at?
Right around 2000 rpm.
