It sounds like tho Snufmin is prob cannon, its supposed to end up as a tragedy. But these are new times were in, its becoming more acceptable to be who you are freely. They've put a spin on some things that push moominvalley apart from the rest of the adaptations so maybe this wont be a tragedy. Tbh what im most looking forward to is seeing Moomin find his place, Snufkin coming to terms with his want for both family and freedom, Snorkmaiden finding something to truly love that isnt all about someone else, and Little My showing her insecurities more often (I guess for sniff it'd be realizing family is much more important than any jewel in the world). I'd also like to see Moominppapa admit his mistakes more often, instead of covering them up with tall tales. Moominmamma needs more screen time individually in general cuz bless that women shes the best of em.

I really don’t think that’ll happen. Moomins is a huge franchise that has been around for years, it’s not gonna crash & burn solely based on whether this particular series makes their relationship explicitly romantic or not
I don't think you will have to worry about that, honestly this fandom is so wholesome and i feel like people would be okay with what the show turns out to be. If we compare this to Voltron, where it definitely crashed and burned. There were several factors that led to this. The show kept teasing and teasing and queerbating that it left people furious. And honestly the fandom got quite toxic after season 3 or so because they were dead set on a specific ship becoming canon(sorry for the small rant)
I don't think that would happen in this fandom. I've seen most people respect and even join others ship, even though it would contradict another. This fandom seems to be filled with multishippers and respected rare pares witch I love. Although I have seen the tinyst bit of snorkmaden bashing it's not overly extreme and people go to defend her (which is great cuz she's bb) overall fluffy and accepting.
The Moomintroll fandom has been around since (At the latest) the 90's, LONG before this show came around. I think the only thing that can cause the fandom to crash and burn at this point is the franchise just ceasing to exist.

tbh it's not so easy in the UK, you have to have Sky or Now TV to watch it. I find it much easier to watch on a dodgy website online. But luckily for americans they are currently making deals to get it to air there as well

But to them that's FUNNY. And "too young to marry" argument is smart for shutting down the Snorkmaiden route, but then the whole crew talks a LOT about love as one of the main themes of the series - so it's not like no "romance" isn't planned. Just not romance with Snorkmaiden. It seems... there's really a high chance of them pulling this off. the GAY

ooOOOoooh, how this fell. Season 2 was relatively weaker than season 1 in my personal opinion, but the later episodes were absolutely fantastic. Though, with the fact they said they'd touch upon Snufkin and Moomin's relationship more, Snufkin only appeared for a specific few episodes, on in which Moomin was absent. I'd say they're just playing at our heartstrings by this point, but the season was just as good as always, even though it was still only 13 eps.
I like it if the feelings aren’t confirmed and vague, there were always feelings implied for snufkin because Snufkin was representative of one Atos Wirtanen. I like ambiguity a lot, because the characters are concrete but they’re also the forces of Tove’s mind and representative of the people in her sphere so they don’t need to be set in stone or confirm it but just let it be what it already was to Tove.

I don't think it's that they're loving too little or too much, I think it's more how they express their love. Moomintroll can often be too clingy and overbearing, whilst Snufkin can be too distant and emotionally closed-off. Though I personally believe that Moomintroll gains the independence he needs in Moominpappa at Sea whilst Snufkin gains the empathy and understanding of expressions of love & why they're so important to Moomintroll in Moominvalley in November.

It sounds like tho Snufmin is prob cannon, its supposed to end up as a tragedy. But these are new times were in, its becoming more acceptable to be who you are freely. They've put a spin on some things that push moominvalley apart from the rest of the adaptations so maybe this wont be a tragedy.
Tbh what im most looking forward to is seeing Moomin find his place, Snufkin coming to terms with his want for both family and freedom, Snorkmaiden finding something to truly love that isnt all about someone else, and Little My showing her insecurities more often (I guess for sniff it'd be realizing family is much more important than any jewel in the world). I'd also like to see Moominppapa admit his mistakes more often, instead of covering them up with tall tales. Moominmamma needs more screen time individually in general cuz bless that women shes the best of em.

This is such a nice show BUT I just dont want this to turn out like all the other times with shows and fandoms crashing a burning because of large ships being or not being cannon. I dont entirely ship it, but hek they have adorable chemistry.
I really don’t think that’ll happen. Moomins is a huge franchise that has been around for years, it’s not gonna crash & burn solely based on whether this particular series makes their relationship explicitly romantic or not
I don't think you will have to worry about that, honestly this fandom is so wholesome and i feel like people would be okay with what the show turns out to be.
If we compare this to Voltron, where it definitely crashed and burned. There were several factors that led to this. The show kept teasing and teasing and queerbating that it left people furious. And honestly the fandom got quite toxic after season 3 or so because they were dead set on a specific ship becoming canon(sorry for the small rant)

I don't think that would happen in this fandom. I've seen most people respect and even join others ship, even though it would contradict another. This fandom seems to be filled with multishippers and respected rare pares witch I love. Although I have seen the tinyst bit of snorkmaden bashing it's not overly extreme and people go to defend her (which is great cuz she's bb) overall fluffy and accepting.
The Moomintroll fandom has been around since (At the latest) the 90's, LONG before this show came around. I think the only thing that can cause the fandom to crash and burn at this point is the franchise just ceasing to exist.

tbh it's not so easy in the UK, you have to have Sky or Now TV to watch it. I find it much easier to watch on a dodgy website online. But luckily for americans they are currently making deals to get it to air there as well

Ya know what, I don't even need Snufmin to been canon anyway. No matter what it is that they have, gay, strait, strong platonic relationship over periodically long distance, they will forever have one of the sweetest bonds of love, mutual respect and admiration ever shown in such a widespread cartoon. I think that's what Tove would have wanted most fundamentally of all.

To me the girls' bewildered faces (upon being asked about the possibility of Moomin and Snorkmaiden marrying) are the most telling thing here. Like, that's just a normal question. But to them that's FUNNY. And "too young to marry" argument is smart for shutting down the Snorkmaiden route, but then the whole crew talks a LOT about love as one of the main themes of the series - so it's not like no "romance" isn't planned. Just not romance with Snorkmaiden. It seems... there's really a high chance of them pulling this off. the GAY

ooOOOoooh, how this fell. Season 2 was relatively weaker than season 1 in my personal opinion, but the later episodes were absolutely fantastic. Though, with the fact they said they'd touch upon Snufkin and Moomin's relationship more, Snufkin only appeared for a specific few episodes, on in which Moomin was absent. I'd say they're just playing at our heartstrings by this point, but the season was just as good as always, even though it was still only 13 eps.

I like it if the feelings aren’t confirmed and vague, there were always feelings implied for snufkin because Snufkin was representative of one Atos Wirtanen. I like ambiguity a lot, because the characters are concrete but they’re also the forces of Tove’s mind and representative of the people in her sphere so they don’t need to be set in stone or confirm it but just let it be what it already was to Tove.

For those of ye who may not know,by the end of the books there's a part were moomin remembers snorkmaiden, but a "the girl with golden bangs" and she barely becomes a character that exists to moomin XD
And a lot of hints and indirect quotes of moomin totally falling for snufkin. And even though we can never make it canon anymore,its highly acknowledged that tove definitely planned on snufkin and moomin to be a couple. But probably kept it vague for the fantasy.

the directors and producers and writers did a LOT of research for the series and Sophia Jansson was the creative director/consultant so there's not really any way they can ignore the queer themes!

well he's NOT a human, and marika makaroff has been very clear about this throughout production of moominvalley.
Snufkin loves too little, and moomintroll too much. They both need to learn how they can learn to love.
I don't think it's that they're loving too little or too much, I think it's more how they express their love. Moomintroll can often be too clingy and overbearing, whilst Snufkin can be too distant and emotionally closed-off. Though I personally believe that Moomintroll gains the independence he needs in Moominpappa at Sea whilst Snufkin gains the empathy and understanding of expressions of love & why they're so important to Moomintroll in Moominvalley in November.
