    The R5 footage of the farmer looks sooooo good to me. Is that on your page? I would love to watch that. I have an r5 and c300 mkiii but I shoot more with the r5 as of now because of all the work Ive been getting is fast paced. I want my r5 footage to look to that lol. You made that camera sing. What lenses were used for those shots?

    • @hellotmrw
      @hellotmrw  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you so much! That is a film we're currently working on and we'll be releasing more on it soon. Those shots were shot with Canon EF L series lenses. I believe primarily the 35mm and 85mm f1.4. If you should me a private message on IG I can share some more of the footage with you. @hellotmrw

    This was a very enjoyable watch! The low key, yet informative, way you presented and reviewed these cameras made for an easy watch. I was a Canon 5D Mark II user for over 8 years, then I switched to the EOS R and now the R5. It's incredible what these cams can do nowadays. But it's also interesting that the sharper and more technically perfect these lenses get (see the RF 50mm f/1.2) the more it seems like we long for the "imperfections" of older lenses/cameras, such as grain, and the odd shapes anamorphic lenses create in bokeh. You touched on this some in your video with preferring the C70s image to the R5. Again, great watch.

    • @hellotmrw
      @hellotmrw  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks so much! Yup I totally agree. We want technically perfect cameras but we want footage that has character. It's a tricky balance.

    R5 4K crop mode is a down sampled 5K image but my understanding is it can do all modes without heat limit (so 4K/60) no heat limit but crisp as a downsampled 5k (as opposed to line skip regular 4K)

    You can record 8k in IPB and IPB(light) with just a San disk extreme 170MB V30, you don’t need a V90. There lastest firmware changes the bit rates somewhat.

    Lots of great info. While stand alone the R5 can’t dual record, if using an Atomos Ninja V+ you can get dual 8K RAW, just one will be canon raw and the other ProRes RAW. But that’s obviously going to greatly increase size, weight, cost, and complexity of the rig, something many may not care about at all. Bonus though, if using just the Ninja V+, you get unlimited 8K and 4K up to 60fps. The 4K120 is the only resolution frame rate not supported with it.

    • @hellotmrw
      @hellotmrw  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've definitely been thinking about picking up the Ninja V+. Very tempting! Thanks so much for this info! And actually as of firmware 1.4 the R5 can indeed dual record internally. So glad to have that!

    I really think, the C70 is better comparable to the Canon EOS R6.
    The R6 doesn't record more than 2160p - like the C70, but has the same benefits at low light and image quality and internally clog 3 recording like the R5, but at a much better price point.
    When we bought our R6, it was about 2.700 € here in Europe. It has the same brilliant AF system as the R5, which costs around 4.500 €.
    The R6 also supports dual recording onto both SD cards, which the R5 doesn't.

    • @hellotmrw
      @hellotmrw  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fair point! Although with the recent firmware update last month the R5 does indeed allow you to dual record to both card slots. So thankful to have that option now.
      The big upside of the R5 for us is the higher quality options but also the fact that the camera won’t overheat ever in standard 4K. So good foe long form interviews. But the R6 is an unreal camera especially for the price.

  • @TJ-po9ol
    @TJ-po9ol 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Highlight roll off and mid tones are way smoother on the C70. You can shoot RAW lite on the R5 & process as Clog2 in post, which would probably be closer. Noticed there wasn’t anywhere close to the DR on the R5 in RAW vs my Komodo. Highlights clip way easier.

      No problem! When shooting 4k 60 mode I have run into the odd timer warning but it was always manageable. Mainly only on very hot days. But if you plan to shoot 4k 60 all day then I'd maybe think of a different camera. Unless you were willing to shoot in the Super35 mode.
