Within a few short years swept away and now almost 50 years later it looks like 'working class heaven' - wonder who the turns are tonight beyond the pearly gates ?
@UXB-p5u I remember watching when it was originally aired, and I loved it. I got older and spent 30+ years as a professional entertainer. I worked with some amazing acts over those years, plenty were much better than the acts on here.
Lovely memories. People have more money now, but not sure that has improved society. Too many today have money too easy, money which is not derived from honest endeavour, as were the only option to most back then. God only knows where we are heading.
Well said mate shame the brainwashed deviants trying to force their twisted views opinions and ideology down all our throats....thankfully people are beginning to stand up to this moronic crap.
Brilliant entertainment this was plus a lot of auld faces that’s no longer with us but I’m sure they bring many a wee smile to there families that see them. Loved this show 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💚
Have you watched any of this? The vent act at the beginning was absolutely dire ! Nobody would have been offended by anything he said. His "jokes" were absolutely awful!. I can't say that the 2nd act was much better either, Mr Comb-over and his "dancers".
@@craiglewis6145 I agree. It's fucking abysmal. I was just being 'satirical' about the usual tedious comments under videos like this. Sorry about that.
@@craiglewis6145 Yes folks Craig who apparently likes to use the word 'dire' (as he has attacked this programme elsewhere on here) has returned to slag off ....but Craig why would you go out of your way to read people's comments (which as I'm sure even someone with your intellectual capacity...DIRE!) on a programme you clearly hate? Or is it something else? Maybe it's people you can't stand the ordinary British people expressing happy memories the same people who can't and won't be brainwashed into this age of deviant 'diversity' and all the rest!!!

One of England's Best Comedian's, Bernard
Thanks for posting this ill watch it on actual new years eve 2024 itll be a million times better than whats actually on telly
And it was the best thing on New year's eve
well if there was anything on tele worse than that geezer & the kangaroo then heaven help us . About as funny as rabies
@@martinworld7214 terrible wasn't he lol
@@martinworld7214 😅To think anyone thought that was entertainment. And the guy's suit - not the kanga, the bloke!
I didn't know Bernard Mannings could sing so well👍
The way we were .
RIP England.
And what was used to be called scotland [ sorry no longer deserves capitals]
Definitely not Cornwall.
Ain't that the truth. I want it back, power cuts, binmen's strike, The Troubles...it was still a miles better country than today.
Thankfully times long gone. Days of prejudice, hatred, misery for most.
@@Edgel-in6bsDon’t watch . Simple
I was 7 when this was shown!
Will be watching this on New Years Eve
Awesome thanks all gone but not forgotten
Fantastic tv, so glad my childhood occurred in the 70s great days when England was a proud wonderful place to live .
Same here!
Unless you were black. Or a woman. Or gay. Or Asian.
Mike Harding was brilliant , I do remember some of his stuff from the same period thanks
The Rochdale cowboy, lol.
Mike Harding! Not seen him in bloody years! Great stuff!
Within a few short years swept away and now almost 50 years later it looks like 'working class heaven' - wonder who the turns are tonight beyond the pearly gates ?
Love watching these in the morning thank you .
BRILLIANT THANK YOU SO MUCH great memories
Russ Conway the guy on the piano had a DCM from WW2 from the Navy. Mike Harding is still playing folk music. Thanks for the upload.
Most of the faces i the audience would be war babies and veterans.
Proper tv..no PC cobblers...fantastic show.
@@davidwood4892 it was dire !
@@craiglewis6145 To you Craig maybe... NOT to the vast majority of people!!

Talking Pictures is also showing Wheeltappers on Sun 10pm.
I love watching these from a historical representation now
Back when your new year TV hosts drank beer and smoked tabs.
The sheer brilliance of Manning.
Fab, thank you. Used to watch this

Great stuff 😊
Proper comedians and pints of beer in dimpled pint pots
Brilliant thanks for sharing 😂
Great performance of Russ Conway (y)
Did anyone notice peter suctcliffe in the audience? 33 minutes 4 seconds....
33:00
And Harold Shipman on the same table
Bernard you are a great singer
The government has ruined this country, as a black man growing up in the 70s i never found shows like this offensive, it was harmless humour
Well said mate shame the brainwashed deviants trying to force their twisted views opinions and ideology down all our throats....thankfully people are beginning to stand up to this moronic crap.
Who knew Bernard could sing? Not me!! A great slice of a scene and culture long lost - more’s the pity😢
When Dad had the Rediffusion switch on the wall next to him.....
Russ Conway brilliant
I’ve ever felt so depressed in my life
Bernard was fantastic, and to think the three degrees trod that stage too
Mike Harding was a childhood friend of my dad’s.He was a clever man
Very much so The Rochdale Cowboy 🤠
Who mike or your dad
FIFTY YEARS AGO!
The 1970s was the decade of the comb -over
Yes, I always enjoyed Bobby Charlton's. 🤣
@vbt1957 Arthur Scargill had a classic.
Brilliant tv
Bring back the uk
You would never have comments as you do today .
Starmer wake up
Classic thank you
Presume Bernard didn’t have any material clean enough to use.
Peter Gordeno! The Sacha Distel of Stockport!!
10:04 That guys hair!!!! They don't make 'em like that anymore.
This is before the yellow bird he used to ride David Brent did it in the office FAF
No money but everything ok ,,,, and all happy,,, and no Islam trying to kill us
33:05 Is that Peter Sutcliffe at the back?
I didn't know Bernard could sing, he had a great barroom voice that was completely different from his speaking voice
Best of order now!
Does anyone know what’s the name of the second Russ Conway music is?
I think it's called Toy Balloons.
@ excellent, thank you 🙏
Manning was a seriously good singer …..
Seems strange to see people smoking indoors as it was then.
Brilliant entertainment this was plus a lot of auld faces that’s no longer with us but I’m sure they bring many a wee smile to there families that see them. Loved this show 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💚
Was this live on New Year's Eve or was it recorded?
It will have been recorded.
Peter Gordeno wtf.
Lovely hair though. 🤣
@vbt1957 hahah aye !.
Peter Gordeno was to Bernard's Rochdale Road Embassy club what Sammy Davis jnr was to Caesar's in Las Vegas!
His son also named Peter Gordeno, plays synthesisers in Depeche Mode nowadays

Frank Spencer
The good old days and know snow flake society ❤

Comedy when it was funny. Who is it? It's the gasman; he's come to read the meter.
Absolutely awful.
Utter garbage . not a single funny joke . only redeeming this was mike harding . So happy the young ones came along and got this lot off the tele
But then the comedy of the Young Ones is offensive today!
Well said! 95% of this is utter brolax.
What passed for "Comedy" in 1975???? ... I would rather watch Paint Dry than watch this. But hey... Each to their own.
Don't watch 😂
@@grahamhill9499 I have watched other videos on your channel, That I have enjoyed ... This one did not "Float my boat" ... just saying!
All the smart arsed so called comics, mainly on C4. You can keep them.
It's what they call the crack, the shared social culture of people with same struggles... In a shared escape !!!
More than just entertainment...
