I usually put them in one after the other, like cornrow one time. Each braid may not be the same though because different sections of the hair have different thicknesses. Trust me there is no set algorithm for feedin Braids, everybody will be different. Just practice, practice, practice.
My problem with feed in braids is measuring how much hair to use and how to gradually take larger pieces. I can never get the sizing correct and equal on all sides. Any advice?

It depends on the size of your pieces and how big you want the braid to be. The size of your pieces also depends on the thickness of the hair. For example, really thin hair requires smaller pieces to be added.

I make all my pieces the same size then I take the first piece I'm going to use and split it into 3 pieces to start which you can see at 2:40
