I have 2 of the 10" and im very happy with them. The only thing I find is that the auto on/off setting isn't very sensitive and I have to turn up the sound loud just so they come on, then I turn It down, so I just turn them on and off instead..Still wish i got the 12s tho..
good morning i would like to buy a subwoofer and i am undecided on which model to choose. i have identified the following models svs sb4000 and jl audio 112. I would use it mainly for cinema, which one would you recommend?
I totally agree with this review of JL audio home subwoofer, this sub is a win win if you can afford it at around $1300, in my opinion it is as smooth powerful and detailed as you will find on the market, but for me I'm hoping jl audio will make a home subwoofer in the $400 to $500 range that will surpass current subs like jbl, infinity, Polk, klipsch etc.
Bought 2 of the e112's a few years back. As Audioholics say, the performance is pretty incredible. BUT- In Mine, BOTH of them started to fail , starting right after warrantee expiration: only the electronics, though- as these guys here say, the mechanical construction of these subs is like a Sherman tank; they're solid as a rock (and weigh about as much, too). The PROBLEM, I THINK, is that the electronics is not vented in any way that I can see, and with these things constantly on (the only way to shut off the electronics completely is to unplug them), they remain warm to the touch (in the back of the subs). So whatever capacitors and resistors there are inside are slowly cooking, constantly.
Found a guy who's willing to sell me one of these E110 for $950. Your thoughts would be of a great help. I got an INFINITY CSW-10 and I just need to seal up the amp plate and sub (leaking air) . Idk I want something better than that CSW-10 but not to overboard. I did aquire some Klipsch SPL-150 for free a couple years ago. I gotta build boxes and idk, I feel if it's worth it, as I'm more into SQ than SPL.
really like the output but my volume button is malfuctioning and so the thing makes farty noises-quality of the knobs at this price level is not good. a comparison to svs 3000 would be great - the svs is a 1000 dollars cheaper in thailand
Hi, Im going to buy a new amplifier and I don't know which one is better, ATI AT 4007 or Parasound A51, what do you thing?. I have a Marantz av8802a pre. Thank you in advance
Sorry if this is a newbie question but how come the speaker cone is moving even though i can't hear anything? Are they running some kind of test program?
pbkoenigsegg pass on these subs. They are over priced garbage. The amps get hot and short out the cabinet seals are poorly made and the subwoofer surrounds weaken fast. Just not a good sub. Sound is ok from new but would rather spend that money on a velodyne dd series or a svs subwoofer. Way better
You should try the Rel Quake mk2. Its a little 8 inch subwoofer but its really, REALLY impressiv for its seize and does real 25hrtz. Tell me what you guys thinks about the Rel brand or the Rel Quake mk2 on its own. Sorry for the bad English grammer....im dutch
URGENT question...if i had to choose between an e112 sub or an svs pb 2000 for more hometheatre use and some musical listening...which one wld be better...price wiss where i live..it cost more or lesd the same due to import fees reasons..thanks
I used a 13w6 in a 3.5 cup box tuned to 20hz and it will blow you away. JL is top notch period. I use there HD amps in car audio with Mosconi 6to8v8 processor and I cant tell you how amazing JL still is. Most car audio brand and went to shit but JL. Made in USA as well.
my room is 13.45x 20.66x8.5 in feet. this is proposed by my home theater contractor. however another contractor suggested me to get 2 subs. is one of this enough? thanks
Hi Guyz, I have 2ch amp and want to buy this sub. Although I would have preferred the SVS PB12 to match my SVS Ultra bookshelf speakers. The SVS sub doesn't appear to be compatible with my Teac AX-501 due to it's connectivity. So my option seems to be that I use a ''Shotgun" speaker cable configuration, 1 split from the the speaker terminal into 2 pairs. 1 pair connected a Ultra speaker and the other to the JL-E112. My quest is will this work? Sincerely, thank you for your expert advice.
Hi, I am using jl e112 and klipsch r112 for my theater. I am facing some hissing sound is coming from jl e112. Without any input also am getting the sound. The switch is in the ground position. This is a common problem or my subwoofer having any issue.
Listening to your commentaries Gene, I would have to assume you do not use the high level input but you rather instead have the preamp do base management. What are your impressions in using the high level input?
Great review guys! I have the e110 in my media room. The room is small (about 200 sq. ft.) I have carpeted floors and place the sub near the front wall. I ran Audyssey, and it had me lower the volume knob to about 1/3 from the min. volume. The base didn't have much punch. Raising the volume knob just causes the base to get really loud and hurt my ears without shaking the room. Is there any way make the base shake the room like you said in the review, without blowing out my ears? Thanks
that thing's expensive. would it be better than two Klipsch 15" subs? I have one now, was going to add a second. Or maybe i'll just sell it and get something better.
not believe that there will be an earthquake but very good sound . first time I heard a jl 13.5 " I was disappointed but realize that it is he who has the best sound and in small box.
This is old but I've been recommended few days ago this subwoofer as still the BEST sealed-enclosure 12in sub to these date to get and that is 5 years after this video! Do not mismatch JBL with JL, the later being much more high-end. I have the best JL car amplifier and it makes a huge difference for the sound quality, it's worth the price which is an investement that will last you far longer than a iPhone.
PanzerIV I like JL, but not for the Money. Yes the 500/1, 1000/1, 10W7, 12W7 (which I'm assuming this is), and 13W7 are awesome... But I think you'll get better Customer Service, and a great Sub going with a SVS SB4000 or SB16 Ultra.
Why? Why is it that all your audioholics review videos seem to suffer so drastically from production quality? Lighting: It's terrible. Your point source lights cast hard shadows. Get multiple soft boxes from multiple sides and also light from above. Sound: It seems to be a bit ironic that those who are self professed experts in pristine audio recognition produce videos with such noticeably terrible audio recording. Are you using the mic on the camera!? Mic each person wirelessly and mix it with an overhead boom mic. I'm NO expert, but I am an electrical engineer and audio enthusiast and I appreciate the extra effort from those who produce quality TH-cam videos. You guys are great, and keep making videos, just buy a little more gear and spend a little more time in setup and post.
How about PSA (Power Sound Audio, made in USA) subs ? Show me a sub that achieves 100dB's at 20hz continous for less than 2.500$...no need to bother, there isn't any. I wonder if you guys did review a PSA sub, if so, i would like to see the video. Here is a link demonstrating a PSA S3611 - Dual 18" Sealed Subwoofer vs an SVS PB16 Ultra: th-cam.com/video/GRXvHxjIaUk/w-d-xo.html
Three years later, and I have NEVER found a professional review of a PSA subwoofer. If you know of any I am all ears. Is JL audio not an American company?
too bad it's reliability is Sh@# - nope - don't do it - the most unreliable POS audio product I've unfortunately purchased in 30 years - and I'm not talking about blown fuses.......yeah, they didn't reply to your email - why am I not surprised......?
I'm so wanting this sub. It's 2021 and I bet this thing still kicks A$$ on some newer designs from other folks.
my 23 years old Veodyne DD12 still outperforms that sub on every single way
@@juanbaclavab It sounds good but its definitely not worth the price. Limited output for such an expensive 12 inch sub. I used to own one. Sold it.
@@majicogarcia8417 I'd never buy a Digital Drive brand new right now. They're easy to find used for like 800
@@juanbaclavab I was talking about the JL e112

Hugo is a like a rookie actor that has just learned his lines. But, he gets the job done when he is spontaneous. BTW, who is the guitar player?
LoL!

@aaaa@
Keep dreaming pal.
so what is better the svs or this ? and where does the super cube 6000 stand
Would this pressurise a 30sqft room with the 8 foot ceilings ? Seems expensive compared to monoprice13thx .

How long did they last?
I had the same problem with their car audio, 2 amps died after few years.
Subs on the other hand are amazing, 10in W7 is my favorite.

yes we were running sine wave sweeps at 15Hz which are inaudible.

Michael Anderson big mistake I hope you didn't get. They are not worth the price. So much better out there. Velodyne DD series or svs

Guess they didn’t think it was urgent lol what did you end up getting?
Hi Guys which sub would you recommend for home theatre. JL E112 or the Rel HT15. Thx
love the video reviews guys, keep em coming
Have you guys ever reviewed rel subs?

You might have a problem in your electrical circuit which causes the hiss. Is the JL connected to the same power line as the rest of your gear?
Is the rhythmic audio F 25 better than that sub ????
Hey guys, did you ever tested the Velodyne SPL 1200Ultra?
My experience is that it's also a very good 12" woofer.
I have two velodyne spls also. Not as good as my JL subwoofer ! JL is a step up for sure!
JL is huge 😳
50mm vc?
Listening to your commentaries Gene, I would have to assume you do not use the high level input but you rather instead have the preamp do base management. What are your impressions in using the high level input?
It's usually better to do bass management in the AVR instead of the subwoofer whenever possible.
does anyone else think Hugo sounds like Fez??
SQcaliboy 1 looks like a compressed and compact version of Arnold Schwarzenegger!
He sounds like a midget
will the e110 beat a velodyne dd+ ???

Yes focus on proper placement by following our subwoofer crawl video.
Thank you so much!
How do these compare to the svs ultra 13"?
+Mike E The SVS SB-13Ultras are pretty close in performance for less money. Both are really great compact sealed subs.
+Audioholics I have SVS PB13 and tht's really really awesome ported most powerful sub.
Yes a masterpiece if you can handle it's large footprint.
no sound test ????

Guru get the SVS. way more output and just as detailed
Hugo, Why are your jeans tighter than your shirt?
So funny
That shit is so funny lol
Man I lol’d at the comment not that I noticed. Hugo is the man along with Gene!
The E-series have serious resistor problems. They do have very good drivers but lousy electronics. I wonder if they have improved that now?
Why is jl too expensive, im not an expert and never owned jl products. Is jl worth the price?
