    Do you know that:
    1) There are prayers read over demoniacs where the evil spirits are saying things like: "The old calendar is the right one! When the Old-calendarists celebrate, the heavens celebrate, and when the New-calendarist celebration is souvlaki and tsatsiki?" Its on youtube.
    2) While Fr. Savvas Achileos is reading prayers over the possessed Theodoros, the demon shouts: "Bartholomew is ours! He's our (type of) leader," and
    3) Half of Mount Athos is ours! Esphigmenou is the true monastery!"
    4) Elder Ioakim of St. Anne's Skete on Mount Athos, the zealot, had a long beard which reached the ground, because he prayed for a long beard, after being scandalized by the clean-shaven New-calendarists clergy of America?
I suppose that for these cases Fr. Peter, you'd say the demons are lying....

This story is not unusual if one is familiar with the Scriptures and the lives of the saints. For instance, in the gospels the demons would sometimes confess the truth about Christ after being defeated and cast out. Luke 4:33-37 states, “And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice, Saying, ‘Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.’ And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not. And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, ‘What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.’ And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.”
See also "The Confession of Demons" from "My Elder Joseph the Hesychast" (p. 656) or the account as found in "St. Kallinikos, Metropolitan of Edessa, Pella, and Almopia" pp. 357-359

St John of San Francisco wrote against the EP and what it had become… is he demonized? Fr Seraphim called them apostate. The MP calls them neo papist as does fr Peter sometimes if I’m not mistaken. We have to be careful to not let the demons use our passions but holy have been able to call our real issues of faith in a way which is not passionate

@@onlyjoshing Saint John said this calendar change led to a schism. The schism can only be caused by the innovators, and even other bishops at the time (outside the EP) were concerned about this issue. Saint Patriarch Tikhon of Moscow briefly adopted the New Calendar *because he believed the rest of the Church had done so as well*. When he realised that this was only done unilaterally by like a few jurisdictions, he immediately changed it back, because he understood that there should only be ONE calendar in our Church

Interesting...there are some massive problems with story, which comes off as apocryphal, and as another attempt to slam and degrade the traditional Orthodox. One, out of many, comments that stands out in this story is, "Some people belonged to the extreme Old Calendar groups called “zealots” who consider themselves saved."
I know of zero...zero...Traditional Orthodox Faithful that believe they are saved on the merit of being Traditional 'Old Calendar', If you insist on boiling all down to the convenient calendar question. Additionally, if you went and looked for those that consider themselves Traditional, you will find that the quoted statement is an aspersion.

You need to listen a little deeper to the story. Even St Joseph the Hesycast used the term zealot in reference to certain old calenderists. The schismatics who broke away solely based on the calendar change did so in error and pride.

      @OrthodoxEthos  หลายเดือนก่อน +7

This may refer to the fact that many Old Calendarists throughout history have formally declared that local churches who adopted the New Calendar became automatically cut off from the Church and deprived of the grace of the Holy Spirit in their Mysteries, as though remaining on the Old Calendar was a matter of salvation.

☦️😐Here are several key quotes from Saint Philaret of New York that reflect his strong opposition to the New Calendar and its implications:
      1. On the New Calendar as a deviation:
"The adoption of the New Calendar is a human innovation, a break from the unchanging Tradition of the Orthodox Church. It is a step towards modernism and away from the authentic faith of the Church."
      2. On the New Calendar and unity in the Church:
"By introducing the New Calendar, a rupture in the unity of the Orthodox Church has occurred, and with it, a violation of the conciliar decisions of the Orthodox Church."
      3. On the theological consequences of the New Calenda
"The New Calendar is not only a liturgical change; it is a theological error that leads to confusion and division among the faithful."
      4. On the New Calendar and ecumenism:
"Those who have accepted the New Calendar are in effect participating in the ecumenical movement, which is not of the Orthodox faith. It is a compromise with the world and a denial of the Tradition of the Fathers."
      5. On the need to preserve the Old Calendar:
"The Old Calendar is the gift of the Holy Fathers to the Church. It is a mark of the true Orthodox faith, and we must preserve it at all costs, for it is a safeguard against heresy and ecumenism."
      6. On the role of the Church in resisting innovation:
"The Church has always resisted innovation, whether in the form of heresies or changes to the liturgical calendar. To accept the New Calendar is to compromise the very essence of Orthodoxy."
      7. On the unity of ROCOR and the Old Calendar:
"ROCOR has remained steadfast in its defense of the Old Calendar, knowing that to abandon it would be to abandon the Holy Tradition and to fall into spiritual confusion."
These quotes represent Saint Philaret’s theological and pastoral concerns about the New Calendar. He viewed it not only as a liturgical change but also as part of a broader ecumenical agenda and a threat to Orthodox unity and purity. His stance was grounded in a commitment to preserve the unchanging Tradition of the Orthodox Church as handed down by the Fathers.😊❤

It shows how it is possible to have a correct position (i.e. the introduction of the New Calendar was a mistake and priests should not be clean shaven) and yet fall into the temptation from the demons "on the right" by being overly critical of clergy, disparaging of others, factious, proud, contemptuous, etc.
