I've been looking at building a Rans S-21 tricycle gear and using a Viking 195 engine. I agree the Aero Sport products for the plane are worth it especially with the wing tip supplied by Rans and all the builders comments. Your videos are a great help for building this plane.

Good call on no screws. They are accessible through the inspection holes with a 90deg screwdriver. And once the wing is mounted it’s much easier.

Dropping a vote for tinted clear coat! I think it will look sweet.
Loving your build videos. Thanks for sharing. I'm new to aviation and EAB (just got my PPL in June and bought a Rans S-19 in July) and your videos are really inspiring. The educational component is extremely valuable as well - really appreciate hearing what tools/products you use and seeing your process.

Hey thanks for watching. Glad you enjoy the content!
I’ve decided to use a smoked clear on the tips. I think it’ll look awesome!

Nice video. I wonder if these wing tips are easily retrofittable to flying airplanes? What performance and lift would be gained adding a total of 32 inches to the wingspan? I also noticed on Aerosports website a slick center console armrest which is retrofittable🤔

100% retrofittable on the wing tips. Could be done in a week’s time. Uses all the existing mounting holes. They are really nice tips. Far better than the factory tips IMO. As for performance… seems they’d maybe drop stall speed by 1mph and increase cruise by same? Hard to say. Negligible performance impact is my guess. More of an aesthetic and durability improvement. They’ll take a hangar rash event with greater resilience.
