    Hopefully that solves the issue. Hope to see the Cordoba up and running again really soon. Thanks for making the video a little longer brother. Some of us actually enjoy watching👊👍💯

    hi there , very nice video ,
    i want to ask how to check my old lifters if its bad or OK, i used engine priming tool and didn't get oil on on the rocker arm , what you think ( i have a new oil pump, rocker and push rod)

    • @OldeCarrGuy
      @OldeCarrGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s common to have an oil plug not in place somewhere. That would keep you from building pressure.

    Way to go Jason for getting right into it An sticking with it as to figuring out what it was An showing us all those checks that we all suggested ,that was good of you to take the time to show us 👍.. an hopefully you got it this time !! Can be discouraging for sure but some of these new parts today jus not made like they were back in the day .. !! I jus actually looked back a cpl videos as I recall mentioning bad lifters to you as a lot of guys having bad batches of new lifters lately an indeed I did say bad lifters to which in return you replied by saying you figured bad lifters too !! Soo yup yup we called it Jason lol 👍

    wish you would have shown testing some of the other lifters, you said you might pull a few others, did they react different when you put the magnet on the other ones?

    Glad Dale is back. Idk if he has a video specifically on an edlebrock carburetor but a TH-camr named Thunderhead289 is really good with carburetors.

    What do I do if my lifters are stuck? I can't get them out. They do move a bit up and down but they won't completely come out.

    • @OldeCarrGuy
      @OldeCarrGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah your right
      I baught 1990 nissan altima the engine was half half smoking very poor when I flushed engine with diesel 2 times and flush oil 5 times the engine became new and i used for 15 years without any engine job.......

      Done that before. Not necessary on this engine as it is already like new inside.

    Hey could I send you a video to you so you could listen to the noise my motor is making? It sounds a lot like lifter tap I’m hoping it’s not a bearing

    • @OldeCarrGuy
      @OldeCarrGuy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Bearings have a very deep, low tone to them when they wear and lifters tick, or clack. More high pitched. But yes send me the video on my facebook or instgram.

      Do you know what camshaft you're running in that truck?

  • @tri-rrrservices7299
    @tri-rrrservices7299 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Only things that cause rocker and pushed damage is valve train resistance, valve-piston clearances, lash too tight, or coil bind on valve spring. Causes can be collapsed lifter adjusted too tight, improper cam timing, or cam too big for valve spring travel. Possibly over revving with valve springs too weak for the RPM. Studs pulling etc will never break a rocker or pushrod. If all you did was replace lifter , you will have the same problem again in the future. A lifter stuck at the top should only cause some possible valve float, won't cause broken parts on a properly set up engine.

    • @OldeCarrGuy
      @OldeCarrGuy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are probably right on the lash to tight. In a previous video, I readjusted the valves to almost 1/2 a turn of pre-load rather than 3/4. Seems to have helped.

    • @tri-rrrservices7299
      @tri-rrrservices7299 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OldeCarrGuy I typically go a quarter turn after ticking stops, but tight lash should cause valve float / leakage before breaking or bending anything, but might have been just enough to flex the rocker with piston contact at higher Rpm.

    the older engines needs oil with zinc in it i use diesel 15w-40 with a bottle of stp oil treatment flat lifters needs zinc in the oil
    they lowered the zinc in oil back in the 90's sometime the epa claims zinc messes with a cat converter more government bs i think lol

    • @OldeCarrGuy
      @OldeCarrGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Terry. I use 1540 as well but I had started with 1030 and a bottle of zinc additive. But in the end it was used lifters and pushrods that bit me. Replace them all with new and no problems since! Thanks for watching
