      You can only cross by foot now. Now cars allowed as Russia are doing renovation works on their end. I was there recently and there were lots of people going back and forth by foot. It seemed really casual and normal.

    Igor thank you for filming this I am planning on doing this trip in the summer. I hold an Irish passport and plan on getting the tourist E Visa my partner and her family think it is risky for me to do. (they are from Moscow) I plan on doing it as a pedestrian as the automobile crossing is closed for renovations. The journey seems quite stress free, what do you think?

    • @Igorinrussia
      @Igorinrussia  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Its not risky st all. I hear these prwjudices or hate speech from western border pelple (to ithers) and in fact its nothibg like they propagandisize (dont know if its a word) i have videos woth brits, australians in russia as tourist :) check it oit. Hello! Did you see any foreigners successfully crossing this border with Russian e-visa?
    We are hoping to travel this route with my husband who holds an EU passport and is planning to get an e-visa. On the Russian foreign affairs website this border is listed as a possible one for e-visa, though would be very reassuring to hear that someone did it in reality :)

    • @jaan1902

      Narva was a beautiful city. Like the old town of Tallinn. Soviet artillery and air force leveled it in 1944. And after the war, Estonians were no longer allowed to return to the city. The Hermann Fortress, the Town Hall, the Alexander Great Church have been restored, the rest were replaced by a Soviet city with Stalinist and Khrushchev-era buildings and residences. During the restored Republic of Estonia, Narva College of the University of Tartu was built, the restoration of Raekoda was completed and Hermani Fort was repaired. A representative promenade several kilometers long was built. Only the Manufactory buildings have survived from old Narva.

    How many ethnic Estonians live in Narva ?

    • @jaan1902
      @jaan1902 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      88.3% of the inhabitants of Narva are Russians, 3.6% are Estonians (about 2 thousand). The rest are Ukrainians, Belarusians, Finns, Tatars and other nationalities. 48.5% of Narva's residents are Estonian citizens, 36% are citizens of the Russian Federation, and the rest are either stateless or citizens of another country.
      After World War II, the Soviet authorities did not allow the Estonian inhabitants of Narva to return to the city. Still with a stronger right. The city was populated by Russian-speaking labor force brought to Narva from the expanses of Russia.
