Repair and Recondition of Ball Valve (HVOF-Coating Process)

They are (Ball Valves) generally designed very durable and leak resistant, however they are not immune to damage. The damage could be in corrosion or wear form due to galling, abrasion, erosion, particle impact and thermal shocks, etc. Microscopic bulges on ball and seats surfaces meet on each other when open and close the valve, resulting in high surface friction, heat buildup and plastic deformation. Typically the damage gets worse over many cycles until it becomes inoperable.
The right selected coating material could reduce the friction between the ball (gate) and seats allowing for smooth sliding operation over many cycles, minimizing corrosion and wear due to galling, abrasion, erosion, particle impact and thermal shocks, etc. Reduced friction means lowers the valve’s operating torque. Lower valve torque allows using a smaller, more economical actuator which results in smaller envelope dimensions of the assembly.
We use our High Velocity Oxygen Fuel Equipment to deposit many material which appropriate to the ball valve application and CNC Ball Valve Grinding Machine (Capacity up to 10") to make sure the roundness and the surface roughness are good, round and smooth.
