Hi Aritra Let me tell you something very clearly. I'm a regular viewer of your videos and I usually find them excellent. But to be very frank, this is where I have to agree to disagree. I've been working in a reputed MNC for a very long time now, and there was a time I used to work for HDFC Bank. As a matter of fact, my own Manager was actually a good guy, with a naturally foul mouth (I believe some people can actually be so), and he never really pressed me for any targets or whatever. But back then, we used to hear of such instances day in and day out, where Managers and Cluster Heads abused people thus, in a routine manner. I quit, but that was because the job wasn't for me, but even in an environment that wasn't this abusive, it wasn't really the best place to start a career in. I switched over to finance and taxation later on. Also, yes, there are good people in the system, and if you're lucky enough, you might as well be one of the juniors working under a good, considerate Manager. Now, my initial months were spent under one such Manager and a team that was the epitome of good and considerate. My training period went by in a breeze, and later, when I joined the same company as a full fledged employee in another department, I'd carried the image of that team to be the image of the organisation, and guess what, I was disappointed to the power infinity. My next Manager turned out to be a hypocritical, toxic, and manipulative individual who could stoop to any low to get the work done, and that includes gaslighting and guilt shaming the work out of you. While I agree that she has her share of answering to do to her seniors, her manipulative tactics and overburdening with work landed me in therapy for anxiety and depression. And on one such instance, when I refused to take up work more than my capacity, she resorted to her age old tactic of guilt tripping and said 'By not working, your mental health shall be fine, is that right?' all the while knowing that I had been in therapy. And guess what, she's not the only one out there. There are very many toxic managers who can go to any lengths for image management and self preservation, thereby damaging the lives of their juniors. Work pressure and responsibility and competition are all understandable, but these don't give individuals the license to treat anyone in an inhumane manner. (Edit: This is in no way saying that there aren't good people in the system. There certainly are, and we've seen people work under them) And as for paying bills, and getting a luxurious life, please note that there are still many of us who'd prefer this so called elusive bird of a simple life, trust me, I know of people who've foregone a handsome amount for the time being and chosen a lesser (though not completely devoid) toxic environment for themselves to work for. Bottomline being, individuals stay the way they are, no matter what, and spewing unspeakable venom on your subordinates is no manner of management, or for that matter, humanity. Dear Aritra Da, On the one hand, you are saying such behaviour is not justified & on the other, you are truly justifying it by shifting the blame on Employees for joining the work at their own will & not leaving it. First of all, not everyone join Corporate on their own will, with so much Govt.posts lying vacant & irregularities in conducting govt exams, people are left with very few options. With regard to leaving, not everyone has the requisite generational wealth to pursue one's dreams & leave their jobs. You missed the most important issue which is about safeguarding the Rights of the Employees. In Private Sector, there are very few to absolutely nothing provided for the employees to take recourse, once something wrong has happened with them. Even if there is any recourse, you will see that is designed in a way to put the management in an advantageous position. Whereas, in Public Sector, although incidents like this may take place but the employees are always guarded with service rules & regulations. Hope, better sense prevails.

On the one hand, you are saying such behaviour is not justified & on the other, you are truly justifying it by shifting the blame on Employees for joining the work at their own will & not leaving it.
First of all, not everyone join Corporate on their own will, with so much Govt.posts lying vacant & irregularities in conducting govt exams, people are left with very few options. With regard to leaving, not everyone has the requisite generational wealth to pursue one's dreams & leave their jobs.
You missed the most important issue which is about safeguarding the Rights of the Employees. In Private Sector, there are very few to absolutely nothing provided for the employees to take recourse, once something wrong has happened with them. Even if there is any recourse, you will see that is designed in a way to put the management in an advantageous position. Whereas, in Public Sector, although incidents like this may take place but the employees are always guarded with service rules & regulations.
