• Warm roofs, the bigges...
You have to talk in your warm roof. If you don't tuck in your warm roof the cold air will get in underneath it and it will be pointless having insulation over the top. I see this all the time people forming warm roofs and not tucking them in around the outside. This is the equivalent of buying a quilt for your bed and wondering why you are cold underneath it when it is not tucked in around the edges and the wind is blowing all around you time and time again I go and do site inspections of new roofs, and I see that the roofers have not tucked in their roof around the edges.
It's a common misconception that you must vent a warm roof. There is no venting on a warm roof. You do not need to put any venting anywhere on a warm roof. A warm roof starts where the air vapour control layer is everything above the air vapour control layer is deemed to be outside of the building. Everything under the air vapour control layer is deemed to be inside the building. You must ask yourself is when was the last time that you had any wood rot inside any of your rooms? You done the moisture content of say a kitchen or around a kitchen table is stable because it's in Turner the moisture content of the roof timbers is also in Tone inside any of your rooms? You done the moisture content of say a kitchen or around a kitchen table is stable because it's internal the moisture content of the roof timbers is also internal and stable because it's under the vapour control layer and it is inside the property, not external. You do not need to vent a warm roof. and stable because it's under the vapour control layer and it is inside the property, not external. You do not need to vent a warm roof.

But what about cold roof?
What would happen if this isn't done correctly...?
Your warm roof won't work. Cold air will come in under the insulation, and you will get cold. If you buy a quilt and sleep under it, you get cold if you don't tuck in the edges!
I noticed in one of you videos you used a material under the celotex instead of dpm, could you mention what's it's called again as I cant find it....many thnx.
@@knightstemplar1142are you talking of the Alutrix vapour barrier that’s used with the Resitrix roofing system? You install the Alutrix (self adhesive) over your sub-deck, then insulation, and then either Resitrix on top of the celotex or another deck on top that’s then covered by the Resitrix
