Watching from New Jersey a few days late on Saturday. I'm enjoying this demo. The best part of watching the videos late, I can rewind parts to listen to the artists talk about their paintings. Plus, the paintings look large on my TV. Amazing! Thank you. Happy late Valentine's and Happy birthday to the triplets, Eric.
I am watching from St. Kitts in the Caribbean. It is very interesting to see how Marc achieves the translucency of the water, with its shadows and reflections.
Good one Eric and Marc, yes when I lived in the Lake Tahoe area, years ago, I painted the lake water there, in oils, many times at the shoreline. You can sometimes see fifty feet down, but you don't want to do that, but some transparency is good for the effect. I had a friend who often painted with me, but in watercolors. He routinely brought bottled water with him, so, I said "use the lake water", and then told him to say that his paintings were "painted with actual Lake Tahoe water", ...... "they sold like hot cakes then"!! LOL :D Greetings from AZ, not that much open water to paint here, but some. LOL ;D
I can't wait to paint a similar scene, putting a lot of Marc's ideas & reasons for various parts of the work into practice. I've learnt heaps, so thanks so much Marc. You are a gem. Toria, Australia. 🩵
This inspired me to paint from photos I took in Door County. I'd love to join you for a Door County plein air painting excursion! Thanks Eric and Marc!

Watching from central high lands of Maine, and your painting looks like it could be from anywhere up here. I love your rock outcrop, Wow! Those rocks look identical to the rocks around here, and I will be paying close attention. This is the perfect program for me, I need to get better at both rocks and water optics. Thank You.
Love the warm and cool on the huge background rocks: watching from north Idaho. Tell me more about your pleinair magazine, how much is a 20:14 subscription? How often does it come?
