I quit my corporate job that I had working for the same company for 30 years about a month ago…best thing that I’ve ever done. They tried to talk me into taking a sabbatical but I didn’t want to commit to that. The weight that lifted off my shoulders was immense and I look forward to whatever the future holds.

If you’re miserable..either the job will overtake you or it would kill you eventually..literally

It is always so hard to find another job while you are working. It is scary to take a leap, but miserable is not a healthy lifestyle.

Love listening to you guys. Unfortunately I think you missed the mark with this one. People need health insurance for themselves and their family. Advising someone to quit without other health coverage in place for himself and his child is irresponsible and will likely lead to other problems for him.

Kind of agree and disagree, knowing health is vital and expensive if not good. His work will make him sick, if it hasn't already. Or cause regret. It is a very catch 22 situation. Being right in the middle can be dazzling. But if the question arose, it means that it is a very strong NEED. So Breathe & press PLAY.

It's all well and good to tell a young man to quit his job when he has no other responsibilities, but this guy is trying to do what is best for his daughter. His first concern for her should be her safety. He is showing that concern by doing the hard thing, by being employed by a suboptimal job (for now). She will realize this when she's older. Money is necessary to take care of a child. It's just a fact of life. As for showing his love, he certainly can do that in many, many other ways. (I'm not saying he shouldn't downsize. A house isn't always necessary or ideal.)

@Sarah Hodgins I so agree with you! I've worked in healthcare for 10 years and I have PTSD from it. I was also very sick for 5 months with Covid, which I contracted at work. I quit full-time work a year ago and went PRN. I wish I would've quit a long time ago. There are ways around the health insurance issue. I bought a catastrophic plan through my insurance broker until I can improve my mental health and work full-time again. We, as a country, have to value ourselves and our mental health much more than we do now.

When you shift to realize the system is set up to keep you sick you won't insure that. Seek wellness

Love this clip guys. I relate to Ryan about being laid off by a job that you don’t enjoy, it’s a gift. You’re being redirected to something better💚

For me, children are an incomparable treasure and should be the most important life project.
Maybe I could forget the struggle and even the poverty that I lived through, but I could never forget that my mom was always with me.
Work, money, insurance, cars, houses are part of the game, play the game but make your life and theirs a piece of art.

I have no 401k😟. I’m a 57 year old woman who works as a substitute teacher with no benefits, except I do receive Medicaid and my husband as well and he’s a custodian for a school. I do have a mortgage that I acquired before my marriage. My husband has a 401k and receives some benefits. I’m considering getting full time work.
