Oh, I remember this live, never saw Jino being so overwhelmed by a song like he was for My time, it was so nice to share that.
The whole album is stupendously great but my personal heart and soul songs would be "Shadow" ( the best solo on the whole album imo), "My time", "Louder than bombs", "Ugh" and "We are bullet proof: Eternal".
I was loving Jino´s instant smirk when JK started to cast his spell on us:-)

Hi Jino..this is your Africanamerican Halmoni...I live in New Orleans...have you been here before..it’s a city of multicultural music...the background singing was not a sample..it was actually a Africanamerican gospel choir and the band was from UCLA drumline there is a video showing how the background to this song was put together..I was so proud to see BTS used a black choir and an American college drum line..and then they did stepping used by college fraternities ...and Jungkook killed the vocals..BTS will never be copied....thanks for the New Orleans reference...I watch all,your videos and was surprised and happy..thanks Jino...#BTS Halmoni#BTS Army since 2013#BTS World Artist 😊💜👵🏽🇺🇸👍🏽

I agree Filter has a melody and style that is very cliché 90s latin pop. I think the song is well executed and I enjoyed his singing a lot, specialluy how he played with his voice in the recording. I think live instrumennts could make a big difference, and I expect it to be a fun song to interact with the audience. I wish he could play around with it live, it's unlikely he would do that if it's a heavily choreographed performance though... In my personal opinion, as a latinoamerican, I dsilike Señorita and Habanna... But that's another story.
@@adaderen77 Clichés are usually popular if well executed, most people tend to like familiar sounds, they're comforting and easier to sing along. It's not surprising that it's that popular. I tend to like experimentation and "weird" concepts, but not everyone does. It's actually harder for more unconventional songs to do well in charts, those tend to have more niche audience or to not be listened to as background music. I do miss real instruments in latin music though, because they sound prettier than synths.

I just discovered your channel. and what blow me away that you as musician you should have recognize every member voice by now . So when you mentioned a member doing a good job where another doing all the back up with his vocal to support the voice of the one you praised. Then I know that you really have a problem with that certain member. I think you would enjoy the mini Documentary about their work with the UCLA Marching band/Music dept..and New Orleans Gospel Choir interviews with them (not BTS) ...Very uplifting ...It's called On "Dialogue"..BTS also worked with them back in 2015 when they were in LA for American Hustle Life

About My Time... I actually think the chorus of My Time has the same problem than Filter: the melody is cliché/lacks originality, I feel like I've heard it many times before... But, the verses and the rest of the song is amazing. It's a song that showcases his vocal ability a lot, it almost seems written for that purpose haha A part of me wishes he could have done a few things differently, to focus more on the storytelling/emotion than doing crazy things with his voice, but I'm proud of him.

Filter is too cliché melody wise 🤷 but it digested well with those who enjoy ed sheeran and kind and are used to us/western/latina enspired repetitive melodies🤷 i listened to it many time but unfortunately it did not grow on me😟
