    Piaggio silent block engin replacement.
    The silent block is a common problem with Vespa GTS and more piaggio scooters. The cracked tire of the silent block is found in all Piaggiot scooters with Qasar engines. I did not find a video of how to change the silent unit and tried to do it myself.
    It was difficult for me to take pictures and work on the vespa, but the result was worth it. I did the killing and pressing of the silent block itself with the help of a vise. I used the moment while I disassembled the engine fork to lubricate with grease and needle bearings. They ensure the smooth movement of the engine when going through bumps and placing a central stand on the Vespa. If you have questions about the change, write me in the comments below the video.

    The engine of the Piaggio automatic scooters from 125ccm is not directly bolted to the frame.
    Between frame and engine is a so-called parallelogram.
    The swing arm parallelogram provides for the vertical swing compensation of the almost horizontally installed engine. If the engine would be screwed directly into the frame, the engine vibrations of the 1st and 2nd order would be hard to bear (mirror trembling, tingling, numb feeling in the hands etc.). In addition, it decouples the frame from shocks caused by uneven ground.
    The swing arm parallelogram is therefore indispensable, but often causes some displeasure when riding in a sporty manner. There are two things that must be distinguished:
    CHECK WARNING
    The engine swingarm has six bearing points and can therefore cause a lot of lateral play of the engine under normal wear. This gives the rear wheel its own steering radius, which makes the handling very unstable and imprecise.
    If the engine can be moved significantly transverse to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, the swing arm should be revised. This is a main focus of the inspector at the next general inspection.
    SPORTIVE DRIVING
    The engine makes a horizontal movement as well as a vertical one due to the parallelogram. This influences the response of the rear shock absorbers.
    The movement of the engine swingarm is damped by a large silent rubber.
    The standard rubber is trimmed for great comfort and is rather unsuitable for sporty drivers.

    Thanks for this video. I have the same problem for 2 days, I feel the rear twisting in the turns, a bit like a flat tire... I will have to find out where exactly this problem comes from, I am told about bearings of suspension arms. what do you think? it's a hpe of 9000 kms...🙄

      Hi, apart from the silent block issue, it is possible that the rubber bushings from the engine to the arm need to be replaced. They are quite difficult to replace by cutting and punching.
      How many kilometers is your Vespa GTS 300 HPE?
      On my new Vespa GTS 300 HPE, I changed the bearing from the clutch on the engine cover at 5000km... it was broken.. Regards!

      Ci sono due bulloni del cuscinetto sul motore stesso e lo fissano al telaio.
