6 Healing Sounds Qigong - Liu Zi Jue - Taoist Meditation in Motion for Inflammation Stress & Illness

  • This practice is for deep healing and recalibrating of the mind and body. It is considered a "purging" practice in Qigong, meaning it mainly eliminates impure or imbalanced energy rather than building healthy energy. It is often used in China for cancer therapy, and any chronic illnesses involving inflammation or serious mental/emotional imbalance. It would also be a wise practice for people with "Qi deviations" (qigong psychosis from over-ambitious practices leading the qi to the head), known in yoga as "kundalini syndrome", as it helps to clear excess heat and energy and rebalance the flow of energy through the meridians.
For those who haven't drank the energy medicine Kool Aid, this practice is known to lower inflammatory markers in the blood stream of cancer patients, likely by stimulating the vagus nerve and activating the parasympathetic nervous system through prolonged exhales combined with slow mindful movements. The Six Healing Sound practice uses the same basic principle as sighing - our body's natural mechanism to release stress - but takes it to another level with a variety of forms and combining it with movement and some visualization.
I hope you enjoy and let me know your thoughts in the comments!

I've been doing this practice every morning for the past two years, and have customized it by adding two long Ohms while positioning my hands above the appropriate organ area. Before Ohming I say this prayer: "Quan Yin, won't you please help guide my qi to help support optimum (Lung/Kidney/Liver/Heart, etc) function, both in this body and in the body of the universe. Thank you." Thanks, Nick, for introducing what I personally consider the most important morning practice to help keep this middle-aged man feeling young and vibrant!

Holy smokes! This routine is like a medicine cabinet for the body and spirit! For me, it has been more affective than any over the counter pain reliever or prescription antidepressant without the pesky side effects. I'm new to Qigong and have only been practicing for about a month. I've dabbled in your other videos, but I keep coming back to this one. At the end of the routine, I'm pain-free and feel buoyant. And that feeling lasts throughout the day into the next. Thank you for sharing your skills and knowledge! You are helping so many.

Thank you Nick. I've become really inactive (and stagnant) due to fibromyalgia and an injury. Just recovering from a nasty round with covid. I looked at several teachers and am delighted to have found you. When the student is ready the right teacher appears. This practice is so powerful. I knew I HAD to move and use my voice. Thanks for your generosity in sharing your wisdom.

I love this sooooo much!! It feels so good to combine the movements, sound and visuals. Really simple, subtle yet very powerful at the same time. I love how this can be adapted to every-body type. Even people who can't move their arms and legs can still breath and visualize with similar effect. I recently injured my lower back and this is perfect! Mahalo-Thank you!

Discovered this as I was considering Mantak Chia's book The Six Healing Sounds, cited in a Sound Healing course I'm currently taking. I am a total fan of qigong, having taken courses with Daisy Lee and Roger Jahnke. You integrate many modalities nicely, Nick, scaffolding the aspects calmly: Movement, sound, explanation of and placement of the organ systems with their corresponding emotions and color. I am passing this on to family members. Thank you!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I am sharing this with two of my daughters who had been shown to have autoimmune markers. This is absolutely wonderful! I found you about a month ago and I've been doing some practice daily. It helps me loosen up any stiffness i might have in the morning and I feel so much more relaxed and ready for the day after a practice. I've been living with my daughter and SIL and their now 3 children, all are very boisterous and active young children. I really need Qigong and I find your demonstrations and explanations of the movements and breathing most helpful. Thank you. ❤️

I was searching for a video my mom could do from her chair. She has COPD but also the worst unstable shoulder her physiotherapist has ever seen. He said my mom's shoulder is worse than an athlete who has dislocated it dozens of times. We don't even know why my mom has this bad shoulder. (She did not have an accident or one particular incident in her past that would cause it, but she used to lift a lot of heavy things). She has always had loose joints and shoulder especially, but it just gets worse and worse over the years. In the past, doctors told her it was non-operable. Now, even if I were to find her a doctor who could help, her COPD is too severe for her to have surgery. This sore shoulder is making doing practically anything very challenging for her. So is her COPD! BUT, I think she can adapt and do this video! The healing sounds will be amazingly beneficial for her COPD and beneficial to her health in general if I have to guess. Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!

Still practicing this as a morning routine. My energy is changing; I can feel it, sense it at a very deep level now. Initially I could not sustain the yang sounds but now my breathe and throat have openned up considerably and the sounds resonate throughout my body, mind and spirit. My immune system is compromised with high levels of imflamation. This is one of the practices helping me clear all that and heal from the inside out. Thank you for this beautiful highly impactful and life changing practice in a setting that sets my heart free.

Thank you for your clear and concise explanation of the practice of the Six Healing Sounds. Before watching your video, I had many questions on why some of the sounds were "Harder" (use of vocal chords and vibrating of sound), and some were "Softer" (more of a whisper and gentle). Your video answered my questions giving me a greater understanding of this practice. I especially enjoyed learning about how the six healing sounds relates to the Vagus Nerve. My research into the Vagus Nerve gives me greater understanding of Qigong overall, and why it is so effective in promoting our better health and well-being. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and teaching.

Hi when I was nearly finished and doing bamboo in the wind my body had a mind of it's own for about 15 mins. I relaxed through it. I could hear my jaw and neck cracking ( I used to have to wear a splint in my mouth in the past ). My pelvis was moving from side to side and in circles ( I have bladder prolapse ). Recently I've been eating plant based diet, meditations and qi Gong every day with intention to heal my body. It was an amazing experience and afterwards I could feel the energy moving around in my body, especially my jaw, which I think is the root of my health issues..thank you for your video
