9 years later i still come back to this demo to hear Andy playing such great melodies. This man should be on tour worldwide to play his riffs live with a band. True talent.
I ll say it one more time, Andy's playing is so amazing that 9/10 times I forget about the pedal being demonstrated and I focus on the actual playing !
I feel like that this point Andy has gained an unspoken legend status. He's not the type of person that anyone would normally think of as famous, but I can guarantee that almost any guitarist who is into guitar pedals has seen at least one demo by him.
@@AndyDemosYep Andy, I have such bad OCD and I can never be confident with a gear choice until I’ve heard your demo of it. If there’s a piece of gear that I can’t find an Andy demo of, well, that piece of gear isn’t worth considering!
I used to be an Ibanez fan, and sometimes I still am, however I have recently become a huge MXR fan. I cant seem to fault any of their pedals. I currently own 5!
Always loved the unique sound and had the larger chrome model on my pedalboard for a long time. Even with a Boss chorus and a Phase 90, nothing compares to the Univibe.
Don't be fooled by more expensive imitations, this pedal is the real deal on a budget. Great demo Andy and thanks for the great style in your playing, your always an inspiration!
(Think Andys voice:) "Ivan Bravo - the name says it all, countless is the times when this legendary man, the true guitarhero from the Shadows of rock n roll, has had his name flying with the wind or written on walls....... Ivan Bravo, capable of the same fast , swoshing technique on the neck as the old version guitarplayers of yesteryears. Ivan Bravo was born in the..." (and so on...)
Gotta echo what JimBoom said a year ago. I used to watch Andy effortlessly smash out licks, riffs and melodies when I could only dream of owning such brilliant gear. Still the best reviews of the stuff i can now (just about) afford. Keep on grooving Andy lad!
After years experimenting with many effects, I finally found my sound with this one. My favorite effect is vibrato. Not tremolo (volume modulation), but vibrato, that is, frequency modulation. I like the pitch oscillating sound, but something was missing. That "Us and Them" guitar modulating sound. Then I found a cheap MXR Univibe sound. Loved it. It has smooth vibrato, not s deep and wacky as a TC Shaker Vibrato, but usable, beatiful. And also the vibe sound, that I was not much familiar, but now I really like this sound. I think this pedal deserves a try. Not as expensive as a Korg Nuvibe, but much superior than other vibe pedals on this price. Easy to use, pedalboard friendly and elegant design.
Every time I watch one of Andys demos, I completely forget about the guitar/effect/amp I was checking out, as Im too busy trying to find were my jaw went after his playing caused it to hit the floor
+Thunder Death 2 He's the best pedal reviewer because he is a good player but also has a VAST selection of songs at his fingertips... and perhaps most importantly has the best ear in the industry to play the right material to really show the versatility and unique characteristics of any given pedal.
+Baba Looga I wasn't pickin on him guys I was just looking for opinions on pedals not playing. and no baba that's not true everyone knows if you want to grt better you just gotta buy a better overdrive pedal ;) you guys wanna watch something funny go watch hitler chasing SRV tone
univibe purists often dismiss this one because it doesn't have the photocell bulb internal function but honestly it's probably my favorite. It's very thick and warm compared to others, even the EHX Good Vibes and JHS Unicorn. Those are amazing pedals but the MXR one for me personally is what I like, and I would put it in its own category of being a very base modulator pedal for those who are looking to add movement to their tone without pushing into psychedelia territory. It's a useful pedal.
At first I was somewhat disappointed with this pedal. But after some experimenting it sounds really cool. Using the right amount of distortion, and putting a Phase 90 (scriptlogo) in front of it sounds amazing.
Those univibe you have to try before buy because they really don’t sound similar one from the other. Some have the montery vibe tone and some are way more subtle. So subtle you don’t feel the presence of🤷🏻♂️ which is a must to feel the presence, glad it comes with a level
Andy simultaneously makes me want give up gutar and throw away all my gear with how fluidly awesome he plays, yet at the same time inspires me as to what is possible. Oh yeah that pedal is good too.
Andy plays "Free" by Phish exactly @4:20 LOL. That is the first song that got me hooked on Phish. Please play more Phish tunes in your demos. I couldn't think of two better songs to play for this demo, besides the obvious Hendrix, which any demoing a Uni-vibe clone always does.
I love how Andy changes small parts to recognizable songs and makes them different just enough to make lawsuit hungry animals go away. Thanks Andy, looking for a vibe pedal. Kind of a toss up, the danelectro chicken salad is no longer an inexpensive alternative. I'm keeping the mxr in mind

Thanks so much, that means a lot to me! Hope to see you on my current channel as well 👍🏻

Truth
Agreed.
Indeed. That fingerstyle soloing is really impressive.
Yeah. Andy is THE man!!!
He's badass!
Damn you nailed that Alive solo!
Morrison - Jake the Mdog its simple stuff, same notes as hey joe hendrix solo
I bought one of his picks after watching this.
Haha! Does that mean he's missing a finger?
Very good price btw
Got mine on a discounted price.
How
Where do you get them from dude??
Andy's beyond an average player. He's playing is so dynamic and beautiful.
that opening solo was beautiful
It’s basically the solo from alive by Pearl Jam, very nice one
I feel like that this point Andy has gained an unspoken legend status. He's not the type of person that anyone would normally think of as famous, but I can guarantee that almost any guitarist who is into guitar pedals has seen at least one demo by him.
I really appreciate it and am grateful these older demos are still finding viewers. Thank you!

Pearl Jam at the beginning and Phish at the end.... Awesome
My thoughts exactly, subscribing just for the Pearl Jam -> Phish 1-2 punch! (pedal sounds great too)
is this really pearl jam ? Its identical to Robby's solo in Five to One
@@todorkerev1707 yeah around the first minute of it is the solo from alive.
@@todorkerev1707 Different key and chord structure. Robby didn’t use a UniVibe either. I see where you think that though

@@coleryland4068 They make a ton
One the best sounding pedals I've heard and the possibilities with this are limitless!
It’s ridiculous how this pedal gets no love. I absolutely love it and enjoy it.
Bought one after seeing this video
I'm looking at one now
Just bought mine
Essential to me to have a foot pedal to control speed.
Always loved the unique sound and had the larger chrome model on my pedalboard for a long time.
Even with a Boss chorus and a Phase 90, nothing compares to the Univibe.
Andy, sometimes I watch your pedal demos just for your playing. So good man.
Just got one of these today for my birthday along with a Boss Flanger. Can't wait to see what they can do.
Actually that was awesome. You can really play man. I'm grateful this video was for free.
Man, you sure can play ! Love your fingerstyle picking, Andy, that's a unique technique you developed.
Cheers,
Matt
You should try, is not actually that difficult, I learnt without a pick coz I'm ADHD and always losing the bloody things
Don't be fooled by more expensive imitations, this pedal is the real deal on a budget. Great demo Andy and thanks for the great style in your playing, your always an inspiration!

Gote Borg ... Well done!
Really? I think his voice is annoying.
JuanRetrofónico and you are watching his videos why?
Andy could make me want to buy literally any pedal
one of my favorite guitarist.
You always pick the perfect riffs that really fit the pedal and exactly what it is intended to sound like. Great job man
Played the intro a few times, one of my favorite solos of all time.
The playing in the intro is so so good

Hey Andy! As always - it´s been a pleasure to hear you play and demonstrate this pedal! The first minute makes me want one BAD ;-)

Me too,nothing incredible 🤷🏻♂️
The last riff was epic!
***** Last riff was from "Free" by Phish
That intro freaking jams!
I’m buying one of these!!!!!!!! Thank you and GREAT playing!!!
Why is it that every time I look up a gear demo, the guy's noodling is better than the sum total of my entire life's musical output?
Every time I watch one of Andys demos, I completely forget about the guitar/effect/amp I was checking out, as Im too busy trying to find were my jaw went after his playing caused it to hit the floor
really???

Little Bridge of Sighs nod there? Hell yeah.
LOVE the phish at the end. gunna buy one now lol

Nice Free lick at the end!

MAJOR PROPS to this guy finger picking this epic PJ solo!!
Awesome intro Andy man!
Amazing playing!!
Andy, bustin' out some Phish riffs around 4:20 mark..
Does anyone know the piece starting @ 2:15? It sounds so familiar to me...

Phish at the end fuuuuuck yeah!!!!!!
Sick Free licks!
