Quick yap session but I also think it’s a similar method to what Joyboy did with storing his haki but only the one who bent the blade to their will can use it to its full potential. What I found interesting was what Dorry said when Joyboy haki was released. “Was that stronger than Red Hair’s? There was no hostility to it”. The second sentence is what I found interesting. Even before Dorry said that, we knew Shanks had “trouble” controlling his powerful CoC and there was hostility to it. We’ve seen before that Shanks even knocks out his allies like in chapter 1055. We always thought Shanks’ conquerors was just too much to control but what Joyboy did changes things. He was able to release conquers on par, arguably even stronger than Shanks’ but there was no hostility to it for Emet’s allies and it only knocked out those it was intended to knockout. Assuming Mihawk has conquerors, I think the control he has over it will be highlighted. There will be no hostility to it for those he doesn’t intended to affect his CoC with. Almost reminds he of the breath of all things. It only harms those it intended to harm. With the little we’ve seen from him, we already know he’s all about precision.
I hear this, I’ve used the shanks hostility thing before when arguing why Mihawk is stronger than shanks. Shanks can’t control his haki as well as Mihawk so it’s not as precise🤔
It's interesting that Shanks has an issue with his CoC knocking out his weaker allies given how Rayleigh trained Luffy in CoC with a specific goal of getting him to a point where he can use it without affecting his allies.
I think you need to give up youre coqueerors haki and give it to youre blade then it gets Black, but if you fail it youre soul gets trapped in it and it becomes a cursed blade
Well thats understandable. Creating a black blade should essentially come out of the principle of making the Blade the extension of oneself both figuratively and literally. I would like to add-on that it’s not just knowing what you want and having the will to carry out but also knowing the blade and what THE BLADE WANTS; likely via the breath/voice of all things to be able to “hear” what the blade is trying to say. After that is known, Haki itself can become a vehicle to assimilate both the Desire of the Blade and the Desire of Oneself into one cohesive unit. Therefore when Haki is put onto a Blade permanently, it is because the Haki of the blade and the Haki of the User are one and the same.
I also have this theory for all while regarding the black blade, now I do believe that any blade can be black. I also belief that any blade can be curse, in the sense that something significant must have happen in connection to the blade to make it curse. Example Wado Ichimonji, I think it is curse although not officially confirm yet. I think that when Kuina died it became curse, maybe her spirit interacted with it or something. Now turning black I do feel Haki is involve in the process after-all just looking at Zoro current progression path it's clear Haki is a big factor in becoming the best swordsmen. But I feel it's more then just becoming very skilled with the blade and power, in a sense I think the black blade is created by using all your Haki and storing it in the blade itself. Essentially offering your will or life to the blade and letting it decide what's. And in combat the benefits are sky rocket, you will be basically fighting as a single entity. The blade chooses your movements in what and when you do, something like ultra instinct in DB. It could also explain why someone like Mihawk always refer to his blade as letting it decided and he just doesn't have Haki flowing out all over the place( Yes I do believe he has COC) similar to other top tiers. It cause rather then projecting the Haki in a more outward fashion its more concentrated and focus into a single blade.
Luffy kinda did it when he used haki to coat a tree branch into a baseball bat to send Saturn's bombs back. Granted it was just some gear 5 shenanigans but if it your comment ended up being the case for black blades. That'd be hilarious 😂
@@WonderofU95but its not permanent. black blades are permanent. i think it has to do with killing another advanced haki user using a haki coated blade to make it permanent. thats just my theory
My idea of creating a Black Blade is somewhat similar, I just use Bleach terms. It's basically Zanpakuto and more specifically Bankai, that's what a Black Blade is. Black Blade is Bankai, where the user has to actually communicate with their sword in a similar way Zoro does with his swords, materialize its will, and subjugate it. Although the swords in One Piece don't literally talk, they can communicate in their own weird way like when Zoro made that bet with Sandai Kitetsu, realized how much of a problem child it is in Whiskey Peak, when Zoro learned of Shusui's potential in the Oars fight, and when Zoro started training with Enma. The whole "materialize the sword's will" can explain that whole Grim Reaper deal at the end of the King fight where it appeared to Zoro, but because Zoro didn't have the strength left to fight it, he didn't attain "Bankai," the Black Blade for possibly Enma. Zoro even stated that he couldn't really move in that moment, which could mean a few things, although Zoro can utilize some of Enma's power, he isn't strong enough yet to subjugate the sword's will which is why Zoro couldn't move, he couldn't fight against it, and that Zoro for now is stuck with Enma's "Shikai" form. That's the difference between Ryuma, Mihawk, and Zoro, they all probably have their own conversations with their swords which starts the whole process. Shanks, Roger, and Whitebeard probably don't do something like that because they rely on and utilize something else. For Shanks and Roger it's more on their Haki that they view the source of their power, but not the sword, the sword is a beloved companion but is more an extension to which their Haki can flow into rather than harmonize with the sword's will. For Whitebeard, he has his Devil Fruit and Haki as well, making his naginata a vessel to impart those two powers into rather than using the naginata itself. Basically, Shanks, Roger, and Whitebeard would be the "pre-awakening Kenpachi's" of One Piece, very powerful people using swords without understanding the sword.
Oda says Mihawk is stronger hundreds of times: The fanbase sleeps Oda says he's more skilled once: "Oda has confirmed Mihawk is only more skilled, Shanks one-shots!" Also, Whitebeard did have a black blade.
I think mihawk wouldn't have used the words "every weapon can be turned into a black blade" if it was only applying to cursed swords. I think he he means it when he says every blade can be a black blade if you master it.
So... the FACT Mihawk is the strongest of all swordsman... We als know he got the best skill in the world + strongest Blade in the world + only 1 capable of creating a black blade in world. This 3 together means everyone else will alwayd be at at weapons disadvantage, skill disadvantage... and will also have an extra unknown disadvantage (probably synchronicity betwen Yoru and Mihawk). Crazy. This is without even considering his observation stuff (hawk eyes who can see power/potential, Clairvoyant, rival of the killer of observation). Or the fact he has a "perfect balance of strong and gentle blade style" Strong blade = raw stats Gentle blade = skill Which logically... If Mihawk's Strong blade = Mihawk's gentle blade... Then world's most skilled = equally as powerful raw stats 💀 If Mihawk also gets conquerors finally confirmed later.... He might just be #1 in verse (top 3 at worse if we include Joy Boy or unknow characters)
I think the reason Oden wasn't able to create the green flames is because he wasn't able to fully master Enma and bring out it's true potential. I believe this is because Zoro is a direct descendant of Kozaburo and has a goal that somewhat aligns with Enma's personality.
@KingKosuu Thus making his progress with Enma very rapid, especially when he taps into KOH. This progress with Enma bleeds over to the other blades, forcing them or helping them to align with Enma's own goal, to reach the pinnacle of it's namesake. Wado Ighimonji means "a straight path" and Enma is self-explanatory these days. Wado Ichimonji likely aids Zoro in his growth due to both its name and its willingness to aid Zoro. This combination will allow Zoro to grow exponentially. Side Note: This is the main reason why I say Zoro will always be a major threat to anyone he faces now.
5:10 Purely speculative then. I also don’t remember Yoru and Shusui being cursed blades 👀. The only cursed blades in the story are Enma, the Kitetsus and Law’s sword

Until we're shown otherwise I'm going to assume you overcome a stronger Haki with sword skill. As in a stonger will compacts the user's Haki into the blade staining it black and adding more weight to the blade.
I think only #1 swordsman is capable of black blade. Just like how Ryuma was #1 of his timeline he was capable of black blade. Since Mihawk is #1 of current timeline only he’s capable of black blade.
Mihawk is canonically weaker than Old Whitebeard while Shanks its stated to be equal. And in this case this isn't vague, Mihawk admitted WB was stronger by saying there was a gap between them. Can you imagine Marco sending Vista to stop Kaido? I can't see happening. It's like Katakuri sending Perospero to stop Kaido. If Mihawk was this strong why did he stalemate Vista? This was made by Oda. And don't tell me he was holding back, Mihawk acknowledged Vista strength and wanted to postpone the duel which means the fight would be mid diff at the very least. That title hardly matters when no one gives a shit about his title. Sucking from shank's balls doesnt work when the author has portraied both characters differently, currently shanks was just compared to the strongest character in the whole series
@@kollen5952Mihawk said he wanted to measure the gap (which can go both ways). Or in other interpretations, he said that he didn't believe Current White Beard wasn't as far from the world as everyone thought he was. Nothing about White Beard being stronger.
@filipe_paixao WSS means nothing to Oda, only 3 characters in the whole series care about it ( mihawk, pre time skip zoro and vista ). Sword skills are irrelevant in the one piece world. Shanks got sword skills, same as Kaido having some Club skills and Whitebeard being skilled at using his Naginata. All top tiers who use weapons are skilled with them. " sword skills equals to overall strength" It doesn´t. You can be a great Swordsman and lack in other departments i.e. Stamina,Haki etc. The marine officer in the bountie's reveal says mihawk is the strongest swordman and explains what he means by it : " mihawk has greater sword skills than even the red hair, mihawk is the wws. ". ITS been told straight away to us: shanks conquerors is just straight away compared to Joyboy's , the best feat in the series ( beating 5 gorosei at the same time ). Thats the author saying shanks can do shit pretty far from the swordmanship world. Zoro is not looking at the joyboy's conquerors blast thinking " wow thats me end of the series " . No. Thats luffy end of the series. Zoro only cares about fighting with his swords Shanks can beat mihawk without a sword? Joyboy beat all 5 gorosei without a sword. So can shanks. Shanks fights outside the realm of swordmanship.
@kollen5952 you are mis constructing some of the things. First, haki is part of Swordsmanship. And characters like Rayleigh, Shanks, Roger and Oden are all Swordsman. Second, the Marine didn't prove the title of "strongest swordsman" is about sword skill. He specifically said: "Mihawk is the most skilled in the world. Above even Shanks" If you want to accept those words ->>> this means that not only is Mihawk the "Strongest Swordsman" but he also is the "most skilled". Also, Mihawk title as the "STRONGEST swordsman" is given through all the types of different title drops. The first time it appears: -->> the manga itself gives a Box with his title. This is different from Kaido's introduction. In Kaido's case... the narrator says: "It is RUMORED he is the strongest creative alive" Mihawk is simply the STRONGEST. besides the literal title box, characters also call him the strongest. And he is stated in his vivre card: --->>>> "He is the Strongest in Name And ACTUALITY" Which means he not only has the title, but is in fact the Strongest Swordsman. ------------ Let me give a quick run down on the things Mihawk is the #1 in the world: -> Mihawk is the only character who was able to Permanently turn his Blade Black in the past hundreds of years. -> he has the strongest Blade in the World -> he is the most skilled in the world -> he is the strongest swordsman in the world These are 4 things Mihawk is #1 in the world in. Nobody else got as many as him. Also, you were mentioning about Skill not being a factor in One Piece? 💀 Mihawk entire speech to Zoro about skill went right through your head? Haki control and its usage in Swordsmanship is part of Skill to. But if for whatever reason you didn't want to hear that. Mihawk is stated to have: --->> "a perfect balance between Strong and Gentle blade style" Strong Blade style being focused on raw stats/power And gentle blade style being focused on skill. So.. what now? He is the Most skilled in the world. (The focus of Gentle blade style). But he doesn't even especialize in it. His Strong blade style / raw sats & power is "perfectly balanced" /on par with his skill (which is the best in the world. 🤨 So, the "strongest swordsman" (in name and actuality), who is also the "most skilled in the world" (with raw stats/power perfectly on par with said skill), who is the only 1 capable of forging a black blade, who also possesses the Strongest Blade in the world... Is bellow a fellow weaker swordsman... 🙉 Bellow someone with less skill Bellow someone who cannot forge a black blade. Bellow someone with a weaker weapon. 💀 You see the problem? Mihawk is indeed stronger than Shanks and any other swordsman until they actually prove it otherwise. As Mihawk said to Zoro: --->>> "come fight me, I'm going to wait at the top" (Also stated in his vivre card that he is looking for a new rival stronger than shanks btw)
So is creating a black blade similar to devil fruit users. There mind and body must mature enough to awaken a devil fruit (becoming the devil fruits will)
@KingKosuu so your saying zoro won't swap to a new ketesu but it will become a black blade cuz if there is a third out there I feel we might get that before a black blade
maybe they have to fuse their will with the will of the sword. since zoro became king of hell but fraudden never did and enma means king of hell so zoro better😂
I think this is why Oden and the others didn't get them. They don't truly love violence, cutting down the enemy in front of them, the way Zoro and the others do. It's bloodthirst, something all swords have by their nature as killing tools.
Shanks has better portrayal and narrative than Mihawk I’m not saying Shanks > Mihawk as swordsman I’m saying Shanks > Mihawk overall Because he has so much better narrative and portrayals and dynamic with the MC for him to be weaker than Mihawk overall Because

Armament
Observation
Utilize aspects of will to boost senses and the body with an invisible force
Conquers is will itself being utilized in the world and on others will
Adv.haki
Takes it all beyond the norm.
Now your armament is being controlled past the physical limit
And
Your senses are boosted beyond the physical limit
Adv.Conquers is will itself made into an invisible but semi tangable force
A swordsmans will and their blade is their life
I do not fully think you need to be a master of all 3 haki types
But you need a will capable of mastering and taming a blade to its peak
A real Swordsmen treat their blades as their own body
And once you can hone it you truly own it
The info we have of yoru in a data book tells us yoru is the strongest and rank 1 in the supreme grade
And Mihawk is the only one who can tame the blade
I think the simple fact that swords have wills and they need to be tamed to be fully utilized
Shows us that to make your blade black
You need to treat it as part of your body
Give it your senses Body will and life to the blade as you do your arms and legs
In an ultimate tug of war
The sword tests if you have the will the spirit and the strength to become one with your blade
If you pass it becomes a black blade
Granting it an umparalled hardness
I do think this is haki
But its haki with no active will
Its actually Visible haki
Anyone can see yoru is a black blade
Even those that never knew of haki at all
How?
Its a piece of mihawk he always has his will with him so will his blade
But no active haki is in it
As we saw with zoro and Shusui zoro would have killed Pizzaru at saboady
I think mihawk has done this since he was 20 years old
As we saw him at age 21 at rogers execution
A black blade is a blade you have given everything and tamed it to make Your right arm
Ryuma tells us you dont need to be a adv. Observation
Adv. Ryou and adv.conquers haki user to make a black blade
But
I dont believe ryuma made his blade black
I think he found it
But if not then he gave everything to his blade
And even 400 years after he died of old age
His blade not actively havibg haki is still black
Great commentary, but the super smudgy/choppy interpolation is throwing me off. Is there a reason so many creators use this effect?
It’s like adding icing to a cake, you either fw it or not🤷🏾
Do you have a discord server?
No but I may create one for you guys
isnt ashura zoros conqueior haki ? somenthing like shanks creating a shockwave with conqueiors or luffy bending this to his will thanks to gear 5 and the overflowing conqueiors haki
Until we're shown otherwise I'm going to assume you overcome a stronger Haki with sword skill. As in a stonger will compacts the user's Haki into the blade staining it black and adding more weight to the blade.
Daz bones and s-hawk also have black blades
You have to give up your conquerors haki to get a black blade
That’s why other top tiers don’t have it because only a true swordsman would ever
I think only #1 swordsman is capable of black blade. Just like how Ryuma was #1 of his timeline he was capable of black blade. Since Mihawk is #1 of current timeline only he’s capable of black blade.
I think it’s the creation of the black blade that makes them number one imo
" sword skills equals to overall strength"
It doesn´t.
Zoro only cares about fighting with his swords
Shanks can beat mihawk without a sword? Joyboy beat all 5 gorosei without a sword. So can shanks. Shanks fights outside the realm of swordmanship.
@kollen5952 you are mis constructing some of the things.
First, haki is part of Swordsmanship.
And characters like Rayleigh, Shanks, Roger and Oden are all Swordsman.
Second, the Marine didn't prove the title of "strongest swordsman" is about sword skill.
He specifically said:
"Mihawk is the most skilled in the world. Above even Shanks"
If you want to accept those words ->>> this means that not only is Mihawk the "Strongest Swordsman" but he also is the "most skilled".
Also, Mihawk title as the "STRONGEST swordsman" is given through all the types of different title drops.
The first time it appears:
-->> the manga itself gives a Box with his title.
This is different from Kaido's introduction.
In Kaido's case... the narrator says:
"It is RUMORED he is the strongest creative alive"
Mihawk is simply the STRONGEST.
besides the literal title box, characters also call him the strongest.
And he is stated in his vivre card:
--->>>> "He is the Strongest in Name And ACTUALITY"
Which means he not only has the title, but is in fact the Strongest Swordsman.
------------
Let me give a quick run down on the things Mihawk is the #1 in the world:
-> Mihawk is the only character who was able to Permanently turn his Blade Black in the past hundreds of years.
-> he has the strongest Blade in the World
-> he is the most skilled in the world
-> he is the strongest swordsman in the world
These are 4 things Mihawk is #1 in the world in.
Nobody else got as many as him.
Also, you were mentioning about Skill not being a factor in One Piece? 💀
Mihawk entire speech to Zoro about skill went right through your head?
Haki control and its usage in Swordsmanship is part of Skill to.
But if for whatever reason you didn't want to hear that.
Mihawk is stated to have:
--->> "a perfect balance between Strong and Gentle blade style"
Strong Blade style being focused on raw stats/power
And gentle blade style being focused on skill.
So.. what now? He is the Most skilled in the world. (The focus of Gentle blade style).
But he doesn't even especialize in it.
His Strong blade style / raw sats & power is "perfectly balanced" /on par with his skill (which is the best in the world.
🤨
So, the "strongest swordsman" (in name and actuality), who is also the "most skilled in the world" (with raw stats/power perfectly on par with said skill), who is the only 1 capable of forging a black blade, who also possesses the Strongest Blade in the world...
Is bellow a fellow weaker swordsman... 🙉
Bellow someone with less skill
Bellow someone who cannot forge a black blade.
Bellow someone with a weaker weapon.
💀
You see the problem?
Mihawk is indeed stronger than Shanks and any other swordsman until they actually prove it otherwise.
As Mihawk said to Zoro:
--->>> "come fight me, I'm going to wait at the top"
(Also stated in his vivre card that he is looking for a new rival stronger than shanks btw)
So is creating a black blade similar to devil fruit users. There mind and body must mature enough to awaken a devil fruit (becoming the devil fruits will)
so what do you think will happen sooner bb zoro or ketesu swap
Black blade kitesu is the second blade
@KingKosuu so your saying zoro won't swap to a new ketesu but it will become a black blade cuz if there is a third out there I feel we might get that before a black blade
I'm here for paint joke. Not gonna watch some random dude theory though. Cya
maybe they have to fuse their will with the will of the sword. since zoro became king of hell but fraudden never did and enma means king of hell so zoro better😂
Respect oden bud, but yeah you got it
but wado isnt cursed but it will be a black blade...yr whole theory falls flat
Wado is a named blade, most named blades have some sort of ability so your point is kind of irrelevant
@@KingKosuu named blade and cursed blade are totally different....garps,rogers and shanks blade are also named but that doesnt mean there cyrsed.
Interesting
"1000+ bodies=black blade, you dont have appetite to slash your foes, you are not worthy to black your blade"
-Oda
Didn’t they say your blade would get rusty from it?
I think this is why Oden and the others didn't get them. They don't truly love violence, cutting down the enemy in front of them, the way Zoro and the others do. It's bloodthirst, something all swords have by their nature as killing tools.
why all this mental gymnastics, just admit it mihawk >>> shanks. mihawk already said it. shanks is WEAK
Shanks has better portrayal and narrative than Mihawk
I’m not saying Shanks > Mihawk as swordsman
I’m saying Shanks > Mihawk overall
Because he has so much better narrative and portrayals and dynamic with the MC for him to be weaker than Mihawk overall Because
What mental gymnastics when I’ve said countless times Mihawk is above shanks ☠️
@@Saint.TopmanMihawk has direct portrayal and narrative above shanks multiple times in the manga

Fraudhawk does not have CoC
Meaning shanks was holding back in their duel
Mihawk is a fraud
