- Samuel Cavanaugh, a Scrooge like character, revisits the frozen pond each year to relive the happier moments in his life. Michael Grant is an unhappy young boy attempting to skate with his dad's oversized skates, who was missing in action in Korea. Their paths cross several times as our story unfolds. Its a heartwarming Christmas tale which brings to life a famous Norman Rockwell painting. Starring James T Callahan, Sky Rumph & Emily Newman.

This is an awesome movie. It captivated my attention from the beginning to the ending and shows the importance of prayer, to extend compassion, mercy and grace and also encourages the viewers not be judgmental. Sometimes people are not really mean by nature but because they have had a terrible experience in their lives, they can become bitter if they allow it to dominate their lives. Thanks for posting.
This movie was a great experience for me to remember my past and the wonderful memories of Kenin Michael my protective brother of us four sisters..Sledding...Ice skating and Fun!! A sweet, caring story featuring the values of hope, friendship and not being afraid to reach out to your neighbors. It also exemplifies why people lash out when they are in pain, and the importance of being empathetic to someone else's situation and being forgiving and understanding.

You expressed what I was feeling too. We all need to remember that god hears our prayers and we can never give up o hoping in miracles. I am praying so much for a miracle for my dear daughter in law and friend who is fighting cancer. It is so hard 😢 to believe during difficult times like these. I love Norman Rockwell art but this movie touched my heart thank you.

The same thing happened to 0ur New Christmas Toboggan when our older neighbor mannned the front spot. We piled on for her maiden voyage, went down the hill right into a tree! It broke two of the boards in the middle front, so it had flat boards sticking out the front. So if you tried to toboggan it just scooped up snow then stopped! We felt as bad for the neighbor kid as we did for ourselves. It's a fun memory from the 1950's.

It's like a combination of 'An American Christmas Carol' (it's a version starring Henry Winkler set during the Great Depression), A Christmas Wish (the one w Tess Harper...she owns a diner. It's a bit of a challenge to find), & A Christmas Story (w Ralphie. I think Butch is also the bully in that story, too).
I remember getting skates every few Christmases when I'd outgrow my current ones & taking them to have the blades sharpened before the rink opened up.
I also remember going down the side of the Meadowbrook Pkwy on trash can lids then heading home for hot chocolate made w milk & eating toast warming next to our wood burning stove. My kids still think I knew Laura Ingalls personally 🙄 (I'm a '70s-'80s pre- through teen chick so not quite the Industrial revolution kid they think I am 🤣)

I truly loved this movie, it was family friendly, very good entertainment I wished we had more movies on regular television like this. I have always loved Hallmark movies, but in recent years they have changed for some of not so good family friendly movies.
