    There is speculation that since this takes place before Origins and the start of the Assassins, that this is going to be the start of the Templars, given their strong Greek ties in Origins

      But it was shown in Origins that the Order was created by an Egyptian Pharoah in the 1300s bce. It's seen in the side quest that has the farmers defending from a bandit ambush.

    I love how all assassins creed games literally have a connection it’s why I feel in love with the games the story mainly cuz through most of the years the game play was the same!! If you get the game on sale if you didn’t really want to spend to much money on it!! I think this would be an awesome thing to have in your collection of games (aka all assassins creed games) it takes alot of time to complete but super worth it if I ever get bored I play another game for a bit than I hope right back on and I’m good as new!!! Best series of games I have ever played!! And I have played a lot 😅

    about the fact that this game doesn’t integrate the assassins, I think this story is more about the link between the protagonist and your first civ artefact, which the modern day character Layla and the Assassins might be looking for. They said that modern day would have a more important spot in this game, but I guess we’ll have to see when it launches

    It could be the start of the Templars?? Because the words of sparta and athens is chaos and order.... Something i kind of relate to the templars. So then we have the start of the assassins and the templars.... And then they can on from there?
    Other than that, i am really excited for this game... Love the time period and just looks stunning as allways.

    had to come and watch back on this. This guy mentioned that he was surprised that odyssey is releasing so ''soon'' well, the director of odyssey in the E3 said the team has been working on it for 3 years which means about from syndicate ish they started working on this? sooo..
    Also, Odyssey has been out for a while now actually and i still in 2020 love this game more, than any other video game out at the moment. I just love everything about ancient Greece and the history itself is so damn interesting, also because irl this was like what, over 2400 years ago? which is pretty difficult to do historical research on, so having a game like this to play is just pure awesomeness.
    I'm soon to reach 600 hours on odyssey, have done multiple 100% runs and replaying the story with different choices + DLC's ofcourse and not tired of it (Yet lol).

    i think the biggest problem with NOT beign a assassin in this game is.... they showe us the origins of the assassisn in origins.. what if maybe they are showing us the creation of the templars in this game? since King Leonidas is your ancestor and sicne his spear has a golden glow to it which i think didnt the apple of eden has a golden glow to it to? which im guessign MIGHT have something to do with the spear and thats why the tmeplars are searching for the apple sicne the templars MAY have the spear and all they need is the apple

    Basically 5 non-AC fans review an AC trailer, imagine that...first and foremost, AC is NOT just about wearing a hood and using a hidden blade, as the true *origins* of Assassins began with Adam and Eve (Origins the game was just the beginning of the Brotherhood, big difference). As for this "not feeling an Assassin rather than 300*, as always you can play as a warrior or using stealth...nothing new there!

      As an AC fan myself, I loved the aspect of the iconic hood and hidden blade. That's what made it "Assassin's Creed". It's what made it different from thr other games. Now it just looks like Witcher 3 or Shadow of Mordor. Very disappointed that Ubisoft chose this path for this game.

  • @Merwanor
    @Merwanor 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I truly hate the fact that we can't use a shield in this one, playing a Spartan warrior without a shield is just not right.

    • @Merwanor
      @Merwanor 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      What the hell are you even talking about? I am just stating that Ubisoft is obviously making a game where the spartan style and look is definitely a focus for the game. And I am only stating my opinion that I think it is completely stupid to not give us an option to have a shield so we can play the fantasy of that iconic Spartan warrior. If other people don't mind, then that is fine by me, to each their own.
      And just because something is perhaps not common does not even matter, we are not playing someone common either. It is a game and one of the few that has us playing a Spartan, and I think it is lame that we are forced to use that broken spear instead of a shield. And why would they slow you down in the game? It did not in Assassins Creed Origins so why would it in this game? It is not like Ubisoft is making realistic games anyways.
      And what is actually a mercenary? The definition taken directly from the Cambridge dictionary is "a soldier who fights for any country or group that pays them"
      What arms that mercenary uses can be anything. It can be whatever the one that hired you wants you to wield and they can be highly professional soldiers too. There really is no restriction to what a mercenary can use. Why is your view on what a mercenary can use so limited I wonder. Perhaps you should check out something called the March of the Ten Thousand. Which was a mercenary army of mostly Hopilites. Do you know what that is? If not, then I suggest you educate yourself on that.
      But I will extend an olive branch and let you show me a source for your argument that mercenaries would not use a big shield in ancient Greece. Because that makes no sense as Hopiliites was like the most common soldier type you saw in an army back then.

    • @danielantony1882
      @danielantony1882 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Merwanor ok,i guess.I mean... An Assassin who is supposed to kill one person has to have a big shield.Great,that makes a lot of sense.And by the way,Origins' shields were small.

    • @Merwanor
      @Merwanor 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am just hoping for the option to have one, that is all. And there are big shields that you can get in Origins, though they are rare. And you can pretty much ditch the whole sneaky assassin and go full warrior in most of the game. And from the gameplay they showed for Odyssey there was mostly just close quarters combat and no sneaky stuff. Heck they even showed us that we can take part in a bigger battle. They are turning it into a full blown RPG and the sneaky aspect of AC is becoming less important with each new title.

    Personally, I don't care for this game as it stands now.
    I played ACs 1-3. Loved them. Then, I tried 4, and I realized the modern day plot took a complete backseat, not passenger side.
    Now, seeing what Assassin's Creed has turned into after all these years saddens me. Nothing about this resembles AC.
    RPG mechanics, no stealth, etc.
    This game could have easily been its own IP, but it seems Ubi is too scared to try that and are using the brand name.
    I'm all for improvements to the combat and such; Revelations handled that pretty well. However, the story was completely scrapped.
    Don't get me wrong, this still looks like a pretty cool and fun game, but this is not what I'm looking for.

    • @Doomfoolable
      @Doomfoolable 6 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      The modern day plot was garbage so thank God it took a back seat. I for one am very glad they are changing things up, the game has been incredibly stale from Revelations until Origins finally brought some life back into it. Even though I loved Black Flag that was mostly because of the excellent Naval Combat.

    • @quetch2
      @quetch2 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I didn't particularly care for the modern plotline, but I hate leaving stories unfinished.
      The first 5 games kept stringing us along with all these little clues and the promise of grand mysteries. To spend years playing these games expecting that to give some kind of payoff, and then never get any resolution is bullshit.
      Good story or not, after 5 games I just want an ending. Ubisoft blueballed us hard.

    • @collegebro85
      @collegebro85 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You all realize you can CHOOSE how you play, right?? Just like in every action game, you can go guns blazing or choose to be stealthy, and each have rewards and consequences! Just because you don't see it a trailer or how one person chooses to play does not mean it is absent from the game. RPG elements also allow us to customize how we want to play even more, so those are always a welcome addition in an action game.
      As for modern day, whether you liked it or not, it is coming back in a HUGE way in this game!! This is the studio that did AC3 and Syndicate, which focused on Isu and PoE more so than the other games, and it is already confirmed that we will be seeing a return to how it was handled in AC3. Sooo...you're either a true fan or you just need to find something else more your style...like Rabbids or
      Splatoon!

    Ya know they keep giving you playable options for women, and now they're giving you a choice to make your character a woman. But I think it'd make waaaay more sense to just stop dipping their toes, and go balls deep and make a (main; ie, Liberation doesn't count) game with a single, female main character. This just seems like a half ass attempt to please the masses that will be potentially jarring and take you out of the game.

  • @essdoubleu
    @essdoubleu 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    It makes no sense you can change the decisions let alone the gender of your ancestor through the Animus, I'm not a fan of the direction they're taking AC, the whole "epic RPG" isn't what I want from an AC game it feels like they're trying to copy Witchers success, instead of improving there own original idea for the game, by now I hoped AC gameplay would look like the AC3 target render footage, but the closest thing to that is Last of Us part 2

    • @nobleskywalker4639
      @nobleskywalker4639 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      ess double-u problem is from a gaming standpoint you can't do the same thing over and over again it has been the same style and the sales showed origins was a breath of fresh air the franchise desperately needed AC can't be COD or Mario where you can be the same game and still making profit. Which is the reason why they went the RPG route

    • @zellski1234
      @zellski1234 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      ess double-u your right it doesn't make sense that you can choose the gender and change there decisions but if you think about it I don't think it will stated in game the choices you make is what the person controlling anonymous is doing it.
      Think of like im ac 2 you play desmond who relives the memory of ezio so you controlling ezio who is being controlled by desmonds but in oddsey your playing Layla but when you choose to be male or female that's like you choosing who's story to follow and if you choose female the male never existed so now you choose what the character does like being on Athens side or Spartas side your character chooses Athens but you can choose the other side to see what would happen it's not like it's already defined so your not technically changing the acenstors actions because you are the ancestor. If that makes sense I don't know if you will read all this it's can be confusing

    • @houseofaction
      @houseofaction 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      wow you are stupid, inside the game the person sitting in the animus isn't changing the decisions, ITS YOU who is making these choices whatever choice you make is the history of the character you are playing. moreover current animus don't require a blood link to the historical person

    • @benen8721
      @benen8721 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    This game would be better without the rpg choosing stuff and with a set female protagonist instead of having to choose. AC has lost my interest after all of these years now because of this game.
