I mean wow…..WOW………and now I’m wiping my tears cuz I’m so sad I wasn’t there digging too! I’ll never come across a house like that! Will anyone? I mean too bad they didn’t leave exactly as it was as a museum of sorts. It would fascinate people in another 100 years. Just think about it. Mind blown! Lol! Great job! Did y’all almost faint when she said $130? I choked!
This was a collectors dream! I love anything Victorian Gilded Age. The cocoa hot chocolate) set was beautiful!!! I would love to see pictures of the original owners wearing the jewelry and using all of the items. You definitely scored. Can’t wait to see how you display the items your purchased. 🥰🥰🥰
I am waxing nostalgic (even with my language). It makes me sad when I see all these incredible things. When they are gone, they are gone! They will find a good home with Rob and Karen or their friends. Nobody knows how to do anything anymore. 😪 I follow a variety of channels and the glass pickers can REALLY find some exquisite pieces. To think that everything we are seeing in this house were not mass produced like things are today. Care was taken with form, function, color and the item produced has a finite number in existence. At one time, all these items started as an idea from an artisan. Today things are made to fall apart as soon as possible. $$ is the motivation. So sad. So now I see Rob and Karen standing with hands on their hips singing "here we are to save the day"!
The person who lived in this house had impeccable taste and collected high quality, beautiful pieces. We were lucky to have an opportunity to own and take care of these things until we pass them onto their next curator. Funny how a person never truly *owns* anything - we just take care of things for awhile and then pass them onto their next caretaker when they outlive us. Thanks Lynn!! Take care!! 🤗🤗
@@BargainBarons curators of beautiful things because you guys appreciate the craftsmanship. It is truly a wonder to see that house and yard sale.Stay safe. Oh, so wonderful when you post.
It would be great if you could invest in a good light. Maybe you could slowly pan the room so we can see what you guys are seeing. Everything looked so interesting.👍🏻
Definitely the way you conducted yourself at the 1st 2 sales was a credit to you getting invited to the private pick. Deanne was just so sweet! Congratulations on all the awesome finds! Looks like it was hard to decide. I know I would have had a hard time!
You do an exquisite job of taking photos featuring your purchases. There is everything to appreciate, including showing the various angles of items and capturing the maker’s mark details. And, of course, your showing of the prices paid, the value, and sold price is important.
Rob and Karen, you probably already know that Alex from Curiosity Inc is closing down his store and is selling everything. I instantly thought of you guys, especially with his frankenstein stuff.
I loved everything, but very surprised you guys didnt get any furniture. Ave Maria at the end even though it was playing for only a few seconds, was perfect! :)
Oh wow! What a haul! Thank you both so much for sharing your adventure with us - it was amazing to follow you around the house, finding the treasures. And Deanne was so generous too - I was thinking she would be asking more like $500 for the stuff, but equally, having cleared my parents’ house, you get to a point when you just want it all gone. So you’re both winners! And we are too - following you on your adventures is so much better than boring television! Thanks guys! (Don’t know when you filmed it, but we had a high of 16°C here and sunshine in the UK today, no snow for us! But we don’t have such wonderful bargain hunts as you do, so it equals out!). Take care and looking forward to seeing your next video! Thanks again!❤️
Thanks Patricia!!! Yes this was filmed in late October 2021. The sub-zero temps here vroke just last week, and for the past 3 or 4 days we have been +3°C or +4°C so it's nice to see the snow melting and we hope to get out there and start picking again soon! 😃😁👍
I love the way Deanne talked Rob into taking things so as to not leave them, priceless. I loved the lady bookends, remind me of myself doing my pole fitness exercises. Would have loved those dog figurines. Beautiful finds, well done.
I know!! And a lot of it was in really good condition too!! If it didn't cost an arm and a leg to ship things from Canada, we could compete with American sellers, but with a minimum $17-$20 shipping in Canada to ANYWHERE it really takes most if not all the meat off the bone on alot of things. I don't know yet how other Canadian online sellers do it... I think the only thing we can so is: sell really expensive things so the $20 or $30 shipping is nothing compared to the price of the item purchase. We have not even gotten that far yet tho, as with regular Mon-Fri jobs we just don't have time for a store right now. Of course you guys know the dream..... grow the channels big enough to actually make a living off the videos etc.... ahhh one day maybe.
That was full of such awesome things!!!! Your pick was fantastic...I was thinking you two would take a second or third run they, especially with those great prices!!! That was very entertaining, thankyou Barons!!!
I love, love, love those curtain rods. Wow, you were so fortunate to have that opportunity. I also am glad to see you now have ads. I'm not being sarcastic, I'm really happy that you can now get a return on all your efforts, editing is time consuming and not alot of fun 🙃 sincerely happy for you both 😊. Can't wait for spring to see what you'll find this year!
Thanks so much Penny! It is a lot of work making these videos. In the summer when we're filming on the weekends, and then including editing and producing the videos it takes about 40 hours per week. We did that for almost 2 years before we qualified for monetization. Some people complain about the commercials and say that we 'sold out', and I do get their frustration but I don't think they understand that without the commercials there is no 'return' for us for the work put into making these. And even now the return is minimal - One day I hope to have the channel big enough that I can quit my regular fulltime job and JUST do Bargain Barons. I really appreciate your comment!! 😊😊🤗🤗
I live vicariously through the two of you and loved everything that you bought! I love how you both are kids in a candy store looking at everything ... I'm the same way!
The tall lamp that you bought that had the marble looking pieces at the bottom, check those they may glow as well. Some pieces glow because there was reactive chemicals in old paint, and there are new pieces out there that will actually glow Because they put phosphorus in new paint
The eves trough would make a stunning planter on your garage! It would look great on the cedar shake siding Karen worked so diligently to "find" them at sales. I am surprised that the paper calendar holders survived in such beautiful condition 😍 Karen's mom is going to love all the petit point! She may say stop! Because all of her walls will be wallpapered with petit point! I wonder if perhaps there is a way to make quilts or something from them. Rob, what exactly are shillelaghs? Are they walking sticks 😳 🤔 👀. So many amazing things are still there, wow this may well go down as one of the absolute best picks of a lifetime. The crystal chandelier parts were an amazing score. If Karen would be willing to part with some I would be interested in buying a bunch to make a "curtain" for my window. Thanks for pushing through all the gopro issues to bring us along on the pick!
I just wanted to say, that chandelier crystals are relatively easy to find 🙂 Chandeliers that are not in style anymore, like from the 70's or 80's, can often be found for very reasonable prices. But just because the style of the chandelier is out of fashion - the crystals are still good! I've bought quite a few, because I needed the crystals as spares, as I have restored a few chandeliers over the years. I usually try to look for the ones with real lead crystal, instead of "just" glass, because prices are often the same - but they have so much more sparkle!
You should make the Copper Downspout into a Planter for outside.. I wish I could Find All those Types of GLASS BEADS !! O' O' GOSH !!! 💚💙💜💓 !!! Everything was GREAT 👍 👌!!!
Great finds! And just the opportunity, to go through a collectors house, because you know from the start, that there is going to be lots of amazing things. Probably a lifetime spent picking and treasure hunting! I wonder if you ever consider finding a bigger house, to accomodate all the treasures, you find?? 😂
I just found you two. and just love your Canadian accents. People say I sound canadian, but I am from Michigan originally and lived in the northern part. You make me smile as I hear your laughter. Thank You. Watching from Pekin, IL
What a generous woman you two were certainly blessed with this pick. I would have gone back again too the public sale to buy more. I didn't see anything there that wouldn't have been easily sold. The goddesses were with you.
That was the best video yet thoroughly enjoyed it wish I could have loaded up my car too!! You guys are so lucky to have been allowed a private viewing 😊😊🥰
Wow beautiful stuff! You and Karen have great taste! I adore and collect those paper calendars 😍 if you ever run across ones at a garage sale I would buy them from you. TFS 👍🏼❤️
I'd use the brass down spout as a mail box by putting a piece of wood in the bottom and put the mail sign on on the top above the I think you'd be beautiful mailbox
Hi Karen and Rob Holly cow what a fabulous haul. Deanne was very gracious. I did not know some white milk glass glowed. Will be more observant when thrifting and yard saleing. You found some fantastic items. Love the swing away curtain rods. Rob, I think your go pro had over load from all the stuff to record. LOL. Great finds. Leta
Awesome house, awesome sale, awesome video!! So much fun being there with you, I'm covering everything you bought, & most everything you didn't!! Rob, you'll have to build a guest house soon, to house all your additional treasures!! Really had fun, always nice when it's a private sale, no hurry, no worry!!
LOL I know!!!! What I REALLY want to so is quit my job and do Bargain Barons fulltime, and then I can get a store going and everything... then we can buy up a storm - but right now the channel is still not big enough for me to do that.. One day!!!!! 😃😁
WOAW $130 ?? What a bargain...You guys better start saving to buy a Chateau because in a few your house will be too small for your antique collections !!
Superb video! You were really lucky to have been invited as solo visitors to choose I really like how Karen caresses the objects with so much appreciation and love for the objects Beautiful items indeed Well done
Wow what a haul, I loved everything you bought those locks. Those chandeliers Chrystal I need to find a haul like that but no chance here in SA🇿🇦🇺🇲🇨🇦. Can't wait to come to USA, then I can visit Canada.
I thought sure you kids were gonna have to take out a second mortgage...W-O-W, what a gift that gal gave you!---Will you rehab those locks?---I've never heard of a 'meter' stick, but, growing up in America, I wouldn't have!---I think Scott, at the Old Curiosity Shop, had a uranium-glowing milk glass vase a few months ago. And I thought for sure there'd be more Czech glass in that sale.
Hi Alana! Yeah Deanne was SO good to us!! We can't thank her enough. I think I will keep the locks as is since they are working... I don't want to destroy their patina. Since America never truly adopted the metric system like Canada did (we measure speed in kilometers, temp in Celsius etc... however most people still use lbs for weight and feet/inches for height here so.... 😆 we're a mixed bag) I am not totally surprised there aren't alot of meter sticks in the USA.
Would love to see Rob break loose and just buy sometime. He seems so reserved like he is asking permission to purchase. Love you both have learned so much.
My husband does the same thing. Like he’s waiting for the go ahead get it, when he can definitely get whatever the heck he wants. I just think it’s a respect thing…. 😊

Hi guys, as for the old flower vase for the car .... On the high-end cars - limo's + rolls + such - the vase went on the inside in the back.
Rob and Karen, you probably already know that Alex from Curiosity Inc is closing down his store and is selling everything. I instantly thought of you guys, especially with his frankenstein stuff.
The automobile vase fit in a wire holder on each side wall of the back seat - inside the car.
I loved everything, but very surprised you guys didnt get any furniture. Ave Maria at the end even though it was playing for only a few seconds, was perfect! :)
You could put that old copper eavesdrop on a porch wall and fill with flowers 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ It’s so pretty. I would have bought it too! 👍🏻
Oh wow! What a haul! Thank you both so much for sharing your adventure with us - it was amazing to follow you around the house, finding the treasures. How nice was that lady! I think she enjoyed it as much as you, and so helpful! Good job her and good job you two!!
Thanks flowerydave! 😁👍 Ya Deanne is such a great lady we are so lucky to have met her.
As a viewer, I had a lovely time watching you treasure hunting. You two are so cute!
I love the way Deanne talked Rob into taking things so as to not leave them, priceless. I loved the lady bookends, remind me of myself doing my pole fitness exercises. Would have loved those dog figurines. Beautiful finds, well done.

I like that palm ice cream sign
Love the retro food chalk ware(Janet)

Yay! Thank you Laura! 😁
You really lucked out getting first pick. Everything was so amazing I would have had ahead time leaving. 😍🤑🤭
It's definitely a respect thing. My husband also does this too and he is the one who's holding the money 💵 lol 🤣
Maybe he pays all the house hold bills and doesn't have money to blow. He does buy some things for his man cave.
