    I've been adding rice to my conditioner and I love it! I'm still using what I have in my cabinet white rice! My hair is very manageable and has grown much! I also use it in a spray bottle and I moisturize during the week while my hair is in protective style big juicy braids! The smel doesn't even stand a chance w argon oil and drops of lemon juice! I've been using rice and rice water for 2yrs. Again make it so that u scalp & hair is happy!

    Hello all!
    So I just tried to do this recipe today...I can't remember who it was who said they were using black rice instead of white...all I have to say is...ABORT MISSION!!!
    The black rice...especially the long grain rice did not grind up well in the blender and I had that thing going for 15+ minutes...and now I still have rice particles in my hair 🙄🙄.
    Other than my trial and error...I think this could be beneficial...my curls were popping out of this world when I was applying the mask and after I rinsed it out...and my sister said my hair felt extremely soft and moisturized...even though I stood so long under the water that I probably washed away any beneficial aspects of the mask....I'm going to try it again, although I'm a little nervous about blending the rice...I think I'm just going to make the powder mixture, add it to my favorite conditioner and just stick with plain ol rice water.
    Also...for those asking, I found all the powders on Amazon for a total of $32...just type in the names and then change the filter to (price:low to high) all you need is a spoonful so it's not necessary to buy a big, expensive bag...
    I hope this helps...

    • @Back2NaturalGirls
      @Back2NaturalGirls  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @SpeakB4iThink, I have never used black rice before but I hear it's richer than white rice. I think u could boil it alittle softer than usual before blending, and the strain before adding the powders, that can help with the residue.

    • @mscurlsncurvesabroad
      @mscurlsncurvesabroad 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Back2NaturalGirls lol yes, I boiled it much longer than instructed, it just simply wouldn't grind up in the blender...it was probably just the kind of rice I got...it's a grain rice like you'd eat in dirty rice....I may try again with just normal rice.

    • @mangogoroad4904

    OK, for everyone who's complaining about not having all those ingredients, I totally I'm with you. I don't either but believe me, I did this with just rice, a little bit of coconut cream (because my hair doesn't like coconut stuff much) and Shea butter, believe me, it worked great. Thanks so much for this recipe. I’ve been blessed! I made some yesterday with additional Ayurveda powders (brahmi & neem) and aloe Vera juice because I did not have aloe vera powder.... I also added jasmine & eucalyptus E.Os in addition to peppermint and the tea tree and some jojoba oil, (since these were already available from other experiments I’ve tried). I can testify, it was amazing! I covered my hair with a cap and went under low heat dryer for 1/2 hour and since I was already at home, I kept it in my hair for literally the whole day. I’m in love with this. The blended rice and the mixing process makes everything amazing and I had no residue to fight with in my hair after washing it out. Thanks a million. My one challenge now is, how do you store the excess? I’m thinking fridge! Any other suggestion? Thanks again.

    • @Connie-sx7nz
      @Connie-sx7nz 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tiffany Black black rice is rice that is literally black in appearance. I bought it after finding out the benefits from a different TH-camr and it’s been sitting there for a month unopened. Supposed to be more potent. I try not to mention by name other TH-camrs in my comments, but you should check out Selina Zinchuk for further information on black rice.
      As to the washing of the hair, generally people with the type of hair shown in the video (type 4 hair) usually wash our hair once a week, or every other week, sometimes once a month (if wearing a protective style that would be ruined from over manipulation). I think the most would be 3 times a week, unless you are doing the Maximum Hydration Method, which is when you would wash your everyday for 7 days straight. Washing your hair too often removes the natural oils in your hair and scalp and then needs to be replaced. I decided to go back to washing my hair every other week as I used to when I was relaxed because I felt like I was manipulating my hair too often. Hope this helped clear up any confusion. And if not, there is always Google 😊
