This Collaboration is a Nice match.Used to go and hear Trilok play with the John McLaughlin Trio a lot and that Band was always a Blast...and they used to play a tune called "Jozy" , dedicated to Zawinul.
2 absolute legends of the Jazz Rock scene Joe who led Weather Report to to the forefront of Jazz and Trilok whose percussion skills allowed him to play with so many great musicians allowing them to include the crossover into Asian music to enrich their music. Both amazing ! DJEJ
Terrific duo - great chemistry - they really hear each other - this is over 90% improvised (at least) - I love those old European jazz festivals, they really took chances and presented unusual things, much more so than here in the United States where this music was born

I absolutely agree, that's the word for this-frightening technique. I was on Trilok's concert last year, in a closest seat chair, watching from the best angle to see everything (I was 1 hour early on concert). It was absolutely the best drumming I ever saw in my life!

Trilok Gurtu is one of the best drummers ever. His work with John McLaughlin a few years before this performance is just as phenomenal.
