A beautiful wooden ring. For this project you need only drill, sander and scroll saw machine. Hope we have given you an amazing gift idea. Enjoy watching this.
Black Locust a favorite of mine! 🙂 Locust wood has a very beautiful copper/gold chatoyance to it, almost like actual metal. I've used eastern hop-hornbeam with good results also. Tough wood.
Hi, pretty amazing job! Well done! Where I live it’s plenty of locust trees and I recognized the yellow/green color. Since I wanted to give a try making a ring I am very confused about fiber direction. Some people told me is better to drill the ring hole across the fiber (through tangential fibers) whilst I noticed you exactly do the opposite. Can you give an advise about the strength of the final ring? Is there any difference at all? Thank you!
Thanks for the great comment and assessment, when the tree is well dried it is much easier to process because it is much more durable. The strips don't matter as much as you like it or try both methods.
I use a lathe but don't do any better job than you do with simple tools looks nice
Awesome how to video

Well, thank you so much for answering my question…

What's the black wrapped thing you put the ring on? I've been looking at expanding mandrel bits but they are too big

Die Musik finde ich persönlich nervig.
Ohne Musik aber mit Arbeitsgeräusch fände ich's besser.

Aber das Video selbst ist klasse!
