That may be your experience with the drill press and good advice, but here it is necessary to avoid fingers getting too hot BEHIND the sheet of sandpaper. With that being said it is a bit wrapped with tape, it’s all good here
Cool, but...will it crack in time? Mine cracked after some nonth...maybe it was a lil tight...ok, but how are you supposed to cut the grain of the wood, to avoid cracking? Thanks mate
It really depends on how thin the ring is, stabilizing it with some thin CA super glue should help. As far as the grain goes Im not sure what the right move is, some experimentation !
It depends completely on what type of wood you go with. You can get small blanks for wood hobby’s like pen turning on the cheap side under 5 bucks to make at least a handful of rings
I made one like 8 years ago at camp with only two files (flat and circular), sandpaper and a saw. made it from a stick, probably poplar. I've been trying to make a new ring since the one I made cracked in two because I didn't finish it or anything. if you don't have sandpaper you could probably try a nail file, or the metal file on nail clippers
Seesaw worked great. Thanks for the tip.
Did anyone see/saw you do it?
🤣 was my favorite part!
Skateboards? Oh my goodness, my grandsons will love that!

Never get around a drill press with gloves on! 🤦🏼♀️
Made me cringe!
vicki lawson why? Can you explain please
Because fabric can get caught easily in rotating machinery and sucks your fingers and hands into said machinery, leaving you with some nasty wounds.

@@davidcornell1166 Wrong. Don't make an excuse for wearing gloves with a drill press or hand drill. If it gets hot, take a break.
I made my ring before watching

First timer here! Do I need to worry about going with or against the grain?
I wouldn’t imagine it would make too much of a difference either way!
Could you please list the tools you've used ?
There is several different ways to do it, they are all showed in the video, thanks for watching
Can I put a gemstone in a wooden hardwood ring? How to do it that the gem is secure?
I’m sure there’s a way to do it, however I haven’t so I wouldn’t give any advice on it

Thanks brother!
How do you get the multi color layer look?
he used a skateboard piece to make that
You can glue different colored pieces together, wait till it’s dry and work with it as if it were one piece of wood.
Is there a written or typed out instructions for this?
how much was the materials in total ? thx for thizz

can i make a ring JUST with a handheld file?

I would have to file that as the hardest way to get it done but possibly!
Dang you got your fingers close to the blade… well I’m gonna go do the same!
