The pool lady story has an update. The guy called the police who came to the woman's house to discuss the camera. They verified that, in fact, the woman's camera was filming her pool and that no part of the neighbors yard was visible on the camera.

Im surprised he admitted to having kids living there. most residential communities that are 55 and older do not allow kids to live in any of the houses. We could visit my moms place but couldnt even stay for more than 2 wks.

It's possible that when in their backyard (the family with kids) that the neighbours camera looked like it was pointing at them. It's very unnerving to feel like you're being watched or recorded in your own backyard.
Her attitude was horrible, she could have been more reassuring to the neighbour and showed him, instead of being a bitch.

@zoekrishel6677 wow is that like an HOA thing?? Or like, "coded" as an elderly residential area?? I lived in an area with a lot of college students. The 5 grad student gals next door had as many cars to juggle and would park in front of my house, including on garbage day. So I mailed them a $25 Starbucks gift card and a note asking them to leave the spot clear for trash night/morning (our pickup was the first on the route), and otherwise the front was totally fair game. (I mailed it because college kids keep strange hours, and I didn't want to wake them or interrupt studying.)
They came to my house when they got the note and thanked me, and promised to make Trash Day easier. And they did. Great gals, and I hope they're doing well!

We just moved to a new neighborhood and there is a very strict property management company that patrols the neighborhood. A few weeks ago we got a violation notice because we didn't have address numbers on our house. I emailed the management company and explained to them that 1. we had just moved in and 2. there were no house #'s when we purchased the house and judging by Google street view there had never been #'s on the house. They told me we had 2 weeks to fix the violation. So, being the petty person I am, I went around the neighborhood and counted the houses that didn't have #'s on them, 1 belonging to the HOA president and another to a board member. Once I informed them of this they magically cancelled our violation. LOL!

I hate HOA's because of just this type of issue. Hard to know why someone would purchase a house, only to be picked apart in what they can and can't do- colors they have to stick with, get hell if you have an extra car in front etc etc etc. Great for some people, but not something I'd be interested in. We have now purchased a home in a beautiful neighborhood, and it stays beautiful with no HOA ruling over it.

Your story reminds me of something that happened to my dad. He had a very pushy neighbor who was always inviting himself over, usually it was right after my dad got home from work and didn’t want to be bothered. Well one afternoon he was trying to take a nap when he heard a knock, he gets up but no one is there. This happened about 3 more times and he just kept getting more and more pissed off. The whole time he thought it was our neighbor trying to be funny and he said if it happens again he was gonna “black his eye”. Sure enough it happens again but this time he was ready and opened the door immediately after the knock. Turns out it was only a blue jay. His face went from fuming mad to utter disbelief. I’m so glad that it wasn’t the neighbor doing it but seeing my dad get all worked up like that was hilarious.

I had a kid that lived in the apartment across from us try to open our door several times a day. Somedays, the door would be unlocked so our front door would pop open and this little brat would be standing there. One day, I hear him running down the hall, so I unlock the door and wait for him. When he opens my door, I was standing right behind it so I jumped and said BOO. Startled the living hell out of him. His mom happened to be there that day (No clue why she wasn't stopping him from trying my door) so when he jumped and I started laughing, because he had just opened MY FRONT DOOR, she was forced to laugh off me scaring her kid. He never did it again. Sorry not sorry - two women, living alone should not have to hear someone trying their front door multiple times a day. It's not funny.

That mailbox one: It's not the mailbox. The mailbox house put up a wall, and the neighbors didn't like it. They retaliated in a NUMBER of ways, including parking in front of the mailbox, damaging it and the garden around it, parking their garbage bins on the mailbox-house's side, blocking the sidewalk, and so on. Mailbox-house retaliated EVERY incident with increasingly petty things like that mailbox you see, the feeders, and MORE. Look it up, it's a WILD situation lol

    • @kira12326
      @kira12326 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +32

It actually started because the couple parking in front of the mailbox had their bushes (before they built the fence) WAY over the property line on mailbox dude's property. So, mailbox dude got rid of the "neighbour's" bushes after they did a survey and saw where the property line actually was. Neighbour was mad, but nothing they could do cuz it wasn't actually their property. Then, just to drive the point home, they put up the mailbox, on their own property, on the spot that used to look like the neighbour's property. They put the fence up to keep mailbox dude's dog out of their yard because the bushes weren't there to do it anymore.
Edit: Sorry, it's mailbox dude's fence. They took down the neighbour's fence and put up their own

0:49 I will never forget the time me and my friend pulled up to a 4/20 party and a group of her friends pulled up at the same time. They unknowingly told us the wrong house before they left for some booze. The first thing I noticed about this house was this badass hearse parked outside with blue flames painted on the side. I was hype. We walk up to this house, knock on the door, and this older gentleman answered the door. (We were meant to be at a house party of 20 year olds and I know maybe 4 people including the friend I was with.) so I’m like ok this is their dad??? I’m down, love older men. I walk right in😂😂 there’s a woman that greats us almost instantly like “heyyy how are yall?? Wanna drink??” Super chill, there’s 3 or 4 other dudes just chillin. I’m blindsided cuz this was my scene. Took us a good two minutes of being in this random persons house before we were like oh I think we’re at the wrong crib 😂😂😂 ig we weren’t the first people to show up to the wrong house so they were super chill about it. Half way through the party at the right house I was so ready to go hang with the dads next door😭😭 much more my scene. Being in a house full of drunk 20 year olds made me wish I stayed with the dads next door😂

The parents enjoyed it I think more then we did to be honest. But anyways my sisters kids come up to visit during the summer. One night we told them the stories of what we did as kids and all laughed. One day shortly after my sisters oldest goes and rings the doorbell and the wars started again. Charlotte, you need to know that it's not about the mailbox. I've followed this saga for years. Yes YEARS. They moved into the home and discovered that the neighbor had stuff over their property line. When he wanted to put a fence along his property line, the neighbor threw a fit. They started parking as close to his vehicles as humanly possible. He put up the mailbox to keep them from doing so, so they park in front of his mailbox to make it difficult for him to get to it. And they move it everyday so that the mailman can deliver mail. The neighbor has friends in the police department. He tried reporting them in the beginning when they were parking close, but the police wouldn't do anything, so he's taken it into his own hands with several things to try to piss of the neighbors. It's worth doing a deep dive on it.

Nope, expectation of privacy on your private property. Depending on the state, he could absolutely call the cops to confirm that he's not consenting to recording. Back yards are not public property.

Right? I heard someone say, "Your right to throw a punch ends at the tip of my nose." She has the right to put cameras up, but that right does not extend to someone else's private property.

Fr! The way she immediately got defensive was a bit worrisome imo, but also understandable if its a retirement area, what are a young family with kids doing there?
But that is NOT a defence if it truly is pointing at his property (and kids) and not just her pool

If her camera is POINTED at her property then she has the right to use them. If your property can be seen in the peripheral vision of the camera (it's not pointed directly at your property) you're out of luck. There must be an intent to violate your privacy rights otherwise you could sue someone for just looking at your yard out the window or from the street.

@@tonykalell4840 I live in NY... the law here is clear if my ring or wall mounted camera is pointed out at my front porch or backyard etc BUT your lawn or window or even upstairs bathroom are in its line of sight you are out of luck. My "intentional use" of my property (cameras) trumps any "unintentional use" that you assume. You believing I'm watching you is not proof I am.

My neighbor occasionally parks in front of my house instead of in front of their own house. When they do it for a few days in a row, I’ll park in front of my house before they get home instead of in my driveway so they can’t 😂

Living in a very very small town, we have a trucker that arrives on Friday evening and leaves early Monday morning. So he parks his semi and load in front of our house. It’s literally the only spot in the whole town for him to park. But it has never once bothered me. People parking in front of my house has never been an issue.
Edit: oooooh the lot was empty in front of theirs? And that update? OK ok. Justified. Totally justified.
