    At the times of day I go, I usually just find smaller shells, but I've still found many great shells. I particularly love olives. The day after the box jelly was spotted off of the pier, I found a bunch of intact clam shells all in the same area just after finding a lightning welk. I had so many of them that I gave three of them away to a guy who'd lived here for a long time but had never gotten a whole one. Just after that, while I was looking for more shells, I saw that I was right next to a purple jellyfish. Then, there was a sandbar shark. Cute little thing and the first time I'd seen one. It was definitely an unusual day. I wanted to ask, what accessories do you have for your GoPro and is there anything you could do without or wish you had?

      Wow a shark! That's one thing I've never run into! For my on land videos I'm actually just using my smart phone to film. I wear a fanny pack to hold it in, and a netted shell bag with a string around it to hold my shells I find. And of course my hand held net to scoop the shells from the water.

    Hey Liz....when you go shelling in the winter, how do you stay warm?

    • @LizFisher1
      @LizFisher1  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't get in the water in the winter, so usually just layers, a northface pullover, rain boots to keep my feet dry by the edge of the water.

    Was this closer to Fort Walton Beach or way west toward Fort Pickens? Presuming this was a low tide?

    • @LizFisher1
      @LizFisher1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This was West Navarre Beach. I'm not sure about tide I never pay attention, there really isn't that big of a difference in tides here. It was just a nice calm day, probably North wind that knocked the waves back.

      @@LizFisher1 thanks, Liz! My wife and I visited Navarre Beach a week ago for the first time, it was amazing! We crossed the causeway from the town of Navarre and went west to the end of the homes and parked. Stayed near there. Pretty rough wave action and steep beach right there, but lots of shells. Thanks!

    • @LizFisher1
      @LizFisher1  ปีที่แล้ว

      @jonathantrexel4299 you're welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed your visit here! Yeah the best days are when you can look ahead at the forecast and see a North wind coming, those waves will get knocked down and expose the shells!

    • @LizFisher1

      Not one specific location, you have to cover a lot of ground to find the good ones.

    Beautiful shells! I was fortunate enough to pick up a whole bunch of the tiny sand dollars on a beach trip to Orange Beach several years ago. I was so excited! They have been providing lots of crafting inspiration too! Thanks for taking us along with you Liz!
